Chapter 69: First Display of Prowess
by tinytreeThe arena was big, much larger than expected. However, it wasn’t very crowded. Aside from highly ranked duels that attracted attention, it usually only drew a few students looking to pass the time. After all, Yinshuang Academy had numerous activity areas.
The current section could hold three thousand people, but there were only a few dozen spectators in the stands, mostly the students from Classes A and B who had come to watch.
In the entrance passage, Shi Ji and the lead male student from Class A, Chi Yang, emerged.
The Class A students were full of enthusiasm, cheering loudly as if the result was already decided, with some even shouting that Shi Ji would get a severe beating.
The Class B students were quieter, with some cheering for Shi Ji, but many were still worried.
Chi Yang wasn’t the strongest in Class A, but he was at least of average strength. Shi Ji’s decision to face him didn’t seem wise.
Lin Xinyan also sat in the stands, alone and apart from the others. She, too, anticipated the result but saw it differently from the others. She wanted to observe how Shi Ji would win. Watching others’ battles was a way to improve, especially when the fighter was someone as strong as Shi Ji.
Shi Ji and Chi Yang took their positions on opposite sides of the arena.
Without hesitation, Chi Yang made a flashy move, his hand emitting a red glow.
Shi Ji smirked. “At a time like this, is it necessary to show off? Losing later will be quite embarrassing.”
Chi Yang sneered, “Arrogant brat. Take this punch!”
As he spoke, he dashed towards Shi Ji.
Shi Ji stood his ground, waiting.
In seconds, Chi Yang was upon him, delivering a powerful punch.
Chi Yang, with his Horse-ranked star constitution, was highly agile, with well-controlled power and speed in his attacks. But aside from these strengths, there wasn’t much else.
Shi Ji didn’t dodge, meeting the attack head-on with a punch of his own.
The clash showed no clear advantage.
“Kid, you dare face me head-on? Impressive.”
Shi Ji replied with the same words, “Kid, you dare face me head-on? Impressive.”
Mimicking Chi Yang’s words, Shi Ji delivered another punch. Chi Yang, infuriated by Shi Ji’s arrogance, met it head-on.
Their fists clashed again, but this time, Chi Yang felt something was wrong.
‘What!? Why is it so heavy?’
Before he could react, Shi Ji’s punch sent him sliding back over ten meters before he could stabilize.
In just one simple exchange, Shi Ji, who had been underestimated, remained unfazed, while Chi Yang, the Horse-ranked star constitution fighter, was pushed back.
In the stands, Xing Yuxiu couldn’t help but stand up. Few had noticed what was important.
Shi Ji, with his Soldier-ranked star constitution, had overpowered a Horse-ranked fighter. How could this be?
Shi Ji grinned at Chi Yang.
“With that level of strength, you call yourself a Horse rank star constitution? You’re no match for me. Be smart, surrender, and hand over your credits.”
Chi Yang’s face darkened, but he didn’t blame his own strength. Being pushed back by Shi Ji was simply because he had been careless. It had to be!
