Chapter 81: Despondence
by tinytree“My God, twenty thousand! Shi Ji, you idiot, how could you be so foolish? The twenty thousand you earned this morning is gone just like that by the afternoon. Ugh! My heart hurts so much.”
The situation had already happened and couldn’t be undone.
Looking at the chicken leg he had gotten from Xing Yuxiu, Shi Ji had no appetite at all. He was filled with regret.
Shi Ji had indeed been a bit rash about this matter. When he returned to the training ground, he saw people fighting in a melee and mistakenly thought it was class B. He jumped in and started fighting, bullying the students from another class. Shi Ji didn’t know anyone in class B, so when people started trying to stop him, he didn’t pay attention. If Jing Xin hadn’t rushed over, he might have beaten even the young instructor.
For Shi Ji now, the temptation of money was unimaginable. He only had two or three hundred yuan, so losing two credits, equivalent to twenty thousand yuan, was really hard for him to accept.
Xing Yuxiu didn’t understand Shi Ji’s situation and couldn’t comprehend his current mood.
Seeing this guy looking so dejected, really didn’t look like a man.
“Hey, Shi Ji, stop it already. A lot of people are watching us right now.”
The cafeteria was filled with students. Shi Ji’s dramatic display naturally drew a lot of attention.
Hearing Xing Yuxiu’s words, Shi Ji, looking mournful, calmed down a bit.
“Sigh, just the first day of school, and I’ve already run into such bad luck. Shi Ji, you idiot, you really haven’t improved at all.”
Xing Yuxiu laughed while eating, “You still have the nerve to complain. Disrupting another class’s lessons and fighting? Normally, that would cost you four credits. Technically, you should be punished with a week of cleaning the training grounds. If it weren’t for Instructor Jing Xin speaking on your behalf, you wouldn’t even be sitting here eating.”
Xing Yuxiu’s words were true. That was exactly what had happened. In the end, Shi Ji really should be grateful to Jing Xin.
Looking bewildered, Shi Ji felt a sense of hopelessness.
“Hey, you’ve really outdone yourself causing so much trouble on the first day.”
Just as Shi Ji was feeling down, a clear female voice came from behind him.
Xing Yuxiu looked at the person and his eyes widened.
“No way! Lin Xinyan!”
Lin Xinyan waved cheerfully at Xing Yuxiu, then came to Shi Ji’s side.
“Hey, don’t just sit there. Move over a bit.”
Her casual words didn’t go unnoticed by Xing Yuxiu.
If these two didn’t have a good relationship, they wouldn’t be speaking so freely. Thinking about what had happened earlier that day, Xing Yuxiu suddenly understood and immediately stood up.
“Whoa! You two know each other?”
Shi Ji obediently moved over.
After sitting down with her tray, Lin Xinyan answered Xing Yuxiu’s question, giving a brief recount of events.
Xing Yuxiu listened and understood everything. Although he and Lin Xinyan knew each other, their relationship wasn’t as close as hers with Shi Ji. While feeling a bit envious, he also felt a twinge of jealousy. After all, Lin Xinyan was the most beautiful girl in Yinshuang Academy, practically a school goddess. Getting close to her would be amazing.
Lin Xinyan had already heard about Shi Ji fighting students from another class, and the source of this information was Jing Xin.
When Lin Xinyan heard the news, she laughed because it was so typical of Shi Ji. For Shi Ji to do something like that seemed quite normal.
Seeing Shi Ji so dejected, Lin Xinyan teased, “You just earned two credits this morning and got them deducted by the afternoon. How did you manage that so quickly?”
She wasn’t gloating, just trying to lighten the mood and make Shi Ji less upset. She trusted Shi Ji would understand.
Shi Ji still looked gloomy, but he turned to Lin Xinyan.
“Xinyan, punch me a few times. Or poke me with your spear. I can’t forgive myself without some sort of punishment.”
Lin Xinyan blinked her beautiful eyes, surprised.
