Morning, on the way to work.

Xiao Yu sat in Mu Qingwu’s sports car. Generally, the boss lady didn’t drive much. When she did, her little brother was often in the car.

He had to explain. National Security had the authority to mobilize local police forces. If they issued an order, would you comply or not?

“I see…” Wang Dong sighed. “Alright, I won’t disturb your wedding. Congratulations in advance on your big day.”

“Thank you.” Xiao Yu smiled as he hung up the phone, but the smile soon disappeared from his face.

After work that evening, when Xiao Yu got home, Mu Qingwu immediately noticed something was off about him. Mu Qingwu reached out and pulled Xiao Yu into her embrace as she watched him smile and stare at the TV with a distant look in his eyes. This kind of gesture had become more frequent recently.

“Nothing.” Xiao Yu closed his eyes, resting in his sister’s arms, but his smile faded into frustration.

“A case?” 

Mu Qingwu was intelligent, sometimes frighteningly so. Otherwise, how could she have built a multi-billion empire? It wasn’t achievable without brains.

“…” Xiao Yu was silent for a moment. “Yeah.”

“Not a case for your brigade?” Mu Qingwu’s brows furrowed slightly.

“Alright!” Xiao Yu nodded firmly and kissed her.

Two hours later, a military helicopter hovered over the neighborhood. On the rope ladder, Xiao Yu waved at Mu Qingwu below before climbing aboard. She watched the helicopter quickly disappear into the night sky and smiled.

Originally, she had only wanted a simple, peaceful life because she liked him. But she ended up with a man destined to shine brightly in the world.
