Chapter 107: Blade

The sudden voice interrupted their conversation. All three turned around to see a tall, white-haired man in a leather jacket and pants walking over. The man had two black swords crossed on his back, exuding an intimidating presence.

Shi Ji stared at the guy without any particular feeling. Mainly because he had no idea who this person was.

Just as he was wondering, Shi Ji noticed that both Lin Xinyan and Auntie Cai’s expressions had changed. Their eyes were wide open. They looked shocked.

Curious, Shi Ji casually asked, “Who… are you?” 

Auntie Cai looked a bit embarrassed, staring at Shi Ji in surprise. Lin Xinyan, after hearing his question, discreetly tugged on Shi Ji’s sleeve, signaling him with her eyes.

The man in the leather jacket kept approaching until he stopped right in front of Shi Ji.

Shi Ji, standing at 179 centimeters, still had to look up at this man.

He wasn’t nervous at all. He just looked up at the man with a puzzled expression.

Seeing the man in the leather jacket looking annoyed, Lin Xinyan quickly said, “Ah, sorry about that. With the recent surge in anomaly activity, even though Shi Ji isn’t a hero, he’s quite strong. I thought having one more person would be helpful, so I brought him along.”

The man then glanced at Lin Xinyan. 

“This won’t happen again,” he said curtly.

With those simple words, he gave Shi Ji a glare before heading into the conference hall.

The entire time, the man didn’t answer Shi Ji’s question.

Shi Ji’s gaze remained on the man as he walked away.

“Who was that guy?” he asked again.

Lin Xinyan wasn’t surprised by Shi Ji’s question. Knowing that he wasn’t interested in hero matters, it was natural he didn’t recognize the man.

Auntie Cai was a bit surprised, “Kid, you don’t even know S-rank hero Blade?”

Shi Ji chuckled, scratching the back of his head, “Haha, sorry about that. I’ve never really cared about those things. So his name is Blade, huh? He looks pretty impressive.”

Auntie Cai was at a loss for words. Shi Ji didn’t seem to be joking.

“Blade is absolutely impressive. He’s not like your average S-rank hero. Even across the whole Dragon Country, he’s well-known. In Yinshuang City, apart from the terrifyingly strong director of the Detection Center, Black Dragon, Blade is the next big deal. Anyway, we’re running out of time. We should head into the conference hall. Shi Ji, you should go to the lounge and wait for Xinyan.”

With that, Shi Ji, Lin Xinyan, and Auntie Cai went their separate ways.

Not knowing where the lounge was, Shi Ji had to follow the directions.

With the Star Alliance meeting taking place, all the staff were out and about, leaving some hallways deserted.

“If only there was someone around to ask for directions. Oh, there we go.”

Shi Ji spotted someone at the corner up ahead. It was a burly man in a brown trench coat with his hands in his pockets, walking towards him.

Without hesitation, Shi Ji jogged over.

“Hey, mister! Can you tell me how to get to the lounge?”

The burly man was none other than Black Dragon, the director of the Detection Center that Auntie Cai had mentioned. Shi Ji had seen him before but didn’t remember much about him.

Black Dragon didn’t stop, simply saying, “Straight ahead, then right.”

“Thanks, mister!”

As Shi Ji passed by, Black Dragon suddenly felt something. He stopped and turned, realizing that the young man seemed familiar.
