Chapter 117: Come Out and Get Beaten

Shi Ji knew, and Lin Xinyan also sensed it. During their departure from the Star Alliance, someone had been quietly following them. That person was none other than Divine Hunter, who had just had a conflict with them.

Blade, being an S-class hero, wouldn’t bother with nobodies. But Divine Hunter was different. He not only looked down on Lin Xinyan but was also furious at Shi Ji’s earlier bold remarks. He planned to find an opportunity to teach Shi Ji a lesson.

After leaving the Star Alliance, they were in a bustling area. The place where Lin Xinyan and Shi Ji were eating was also there. So, Divine Hunter couldn’t find a chance to make his move for the time being.

As an A-class hero and a public figure, if he were to assault someone in broad daylight, the news would spread, and he wouldn’t be able to remain in the hero ranks. His hero title would be stripped, and he would face severe administrative penalties. Such consequences were something Divine Hunter absolutely wanted to avoid.

Shi Ji noticed Divine Hunter following them right from the start, but because they were eating, he didn’t pay much attention. As for Lin Xinyan, she only noticed it through the restaurant glass while eating.

Now that they were full, it was time to stretch a bit.

“Alright, come out and get beaten.” 

Shi Ji wasn’t giving Divine Hunter any face at all because, in his eyes, Divine Hunter didn’t deserve to be a hero.

An arrow hit something. Looking closer, that golden arrow had just grazed Shi Ji and embedded into the ground. If Shi Ji had moved slightly, the arrow would have pierced his calf.

Shi Ji knew the arrow was coming and could have reacted, but he just stood there, waiting. He knew where the arrow would land and didn’t need to worry. And sure enough, it was just as he expected.

Divine Hunter’s archery skills were undoubtedly top-notch, making him an A-class hero. This first arrow was a warning, meant to scare Shi Ji.

But how could he know what Shi Ji was thinking? 

Divine Hunter, hiding nearby, thought Shi Ji was scared stiff. If he got closer, he should see Shi Ji’s trembling legs.

Of course, Divine Hunter wouldn’t let Shi Ji off so easily. He drew his bow again and fired another arrow.

Whoosh!

The arrow flew at an incredible speed, almost invisible to the naked eye. This time, Divine Hunter aimed at the previous arrow’s position, planning to pierce through it.

The arrow flew swiftly, reaching its target in the blink of an eye.

A soft sound was heard. Divine Hunter’s expected result did not happen.

“What!” Divine Hunter was shocked by what he saw.

Down below, the young man he thought was frozen with fear had somehow turned around. The arrow he had just fired was now caught between Shi Ji’s right index and middle fingers.

“What’s going on? That kid is from Yinshuang Academy, he should be much stronger than an ordinary person. I didn’t use much force before, it must have been a fluke. One more arrow, this time for sure.”

Muttering to himself, Divine Hunter drew his bow once more.
