Chapter 122: Shi Lin’s Call

The students’ discussions were just speculation. To get the real answer, the academy needed to analyze the black arrow to confirm if it truly belonged to Divine Hunter, the A-level hero of Yinshuang City.

After some research, it was confirmed that the black arrow did indeed belong to Divine Hunter.

In light of this, the academy planned to contact Divine Hunter to express their gratitude. However, Divine Hunter was known for his solitary ways. The communication devices issued by the Star Alliance were mostly turned off by him, except for the function that received notifications about anomaly activities. Thus, neither Yinshuang Academy nor the Star Alliance could immediately contact Divine Hunter. And so, the matter was left at that.

Only Lin Xinyan knew that Shi Ji was the one who actually took action.

Shi Ji was incredibly skilled and proficient with firearms. Now it seemed he was equally adept with a bow and arrow. It made sense, considering that among the many Star heroes, the weapons of the five rarest Star constitutions were generally aligned with their strengths, whereas the Soldier rank was different.  Although the most common weapon among Soldier rank was the spear, there were many Soldier rank constitutions who use other weapons, such as bows, long knives, great swords, and so on. Considering Shi Ji’s situation, he must have trained with many different weapons.

When Lin Xinyan found Shi Ji, she was taken by surprise as he quickly pulled her aside. Luckily, the other students were focused on the huge crater and didn’t notice Shi Ji grabbing her wrist, which would have been awkward.

Shi Ji was being very cautious. Even though he was the one who acted, he tried to pin it on Divine Hunter. With the black arrow there, it seemed perfectly logical.

When Lin Xinyan asked him why he did it, Shi Ji’s response left her both speechless and amused.

“Xinyan, I slipped up. I didn’t mean to leave such a big crater. As for the anomaly, that was pure coincidence. Please don’t tell anyone. If they investigate, who knows how many credits they’ll deduct or how much money I’ll have to pay.”

That was Shi Ji’s exact words.

Lying in bed, Lin Xinyan couldn’t help but chuckle as she recalled the day’s events.

“That guy… he’s really something else.”

The hype had died down, and all the attention successfully shifted to Divine Hunter. Shi Ji was in a great mood, and the weight on his mind was finally lifted. Tonight, he could sleep peacefully again.

Just then, his wristband vibrated. It was a message from Shi Lin, his classmate.

Shi Lin had mentioned earlier that she wanted to treat him to a meal on Sunday.

“Oh, it’s Shi Lin.”

“Hey, Shi Ji, we had plans. Are you free tomorrow?”

“Oh, yeah, I am!”

“Great, let’s meet at the academy entrance at 9 AM.”

“Sounds good!”

As they talked, Shi Ji suddenly remembered something Xing Yuxiu had mentioned earlier. Since Xing Yuxiu was footing the bill, it shouldn’t be a problem.

“Hey, Shi Lin. Is it okay if I bring someone else?”

“You mean Lin Xinyan from Class A? That’s fine.”

“Uh, no, it’s Xing Yuxiu. He said he’d cover all the expenses tomorrow.”

“Oh, sure. Another person is no problem.”

“Awesome! It’s settled then.”

“Great.”

Not long after ending the call with Shi Lin, Shi Ji received another call, this time from Xing Yuxiu.

“Bro! Did you take care of it?”

“Get the money ready.”

“Oh! So that means…”

“Stop talking nonsense. 9 AM tomorrow at the academy entrance.”

“Got it, got it! Oh man, I need to pick out some clothes and get myself ready.”

“Hey, hey, it’s nighttime now. What are you getting all dressed up for?”
