Chapter 123: Meeting
by tinytreeTo prepare for the next day, Xing Yuxiu put in a lot of effort. He carefully selected the best outfit and even decided on a hairstyle. He aimed to present himself in the most attractive way possible. His meticulous attitude was almost like that of a girl who loves beauty.
After all this preparation, it was almost midnight.
Xing Yuxiu was looking forward to the next day and went to bed happily.
The next morning, he woke up very early. But after washing his face, a serious problem presented itself.
“Hey? What hairstyle did I come up with last night?”
In the end, the hairstyle he painstakingly devised the night before was forgotten by the next day. So, he was still the same Xing Yuxiu, just with different clothes.
When he went out, it didn’t seem much different.
Xing Yuxiu certainly wouldn’t let a girl wait too long, so by 8:30, he was already at the academy entrance waiting.
After standing at the entrance for about five or six minutes, he noticed a girl in a black and white dress, wearing a long white coat.
But the girl wasn’t Shi Lin, it was Lin Xinyan, who was preparing to go out.
After the Star Alliance meeting, Lin Xinyan couldn’t stay idle. She planned to go early to the area she was responsible for. If any anomalies appeared, she could deal with them immediately.
“Xing Yuxiu? What are you doing here so early?” the girl asked.
Being asked that made Xing Yuxiu feel a bit embarrassed.
“Oh, nothing much, just waiting for someone.”
Lin Xinyan stopped and looked him up and down.
“Your outfit is pretty stylish today. What, got a date?”
Hearing that, Xing Yuxiu felt like she had hit the mark. Although he was just benefiting from Shi Ji’s luck, there wasn’t much substantial difference. He scratched his head and laughed sheepishly.
“No, no. Lin Xinyan, you go ahead. You don’t need to worry about me. Hehe!”
Lin Xinyan was just curious and didn’t press further.
“Forget it, I don’t want to waste time talking to you. Just remember, you’re a B-level hero. Don’t let trivial matters delay your important hero duties.”
“I know, I know. I won’t forget.”
Then Lin Xinyan walked away without saying anything more.
As she left, another girl with a large chest came running over. This time it was indeed Shi Lin.
Shi Lin reached Xing Yuxiu, her small mouth breathing heavily.
Xing Yuxiu immediately showed concern. He wanted to help her, but felt a bit shy.
“Shi Lin, are you alright? Why are you in such a rush?”
Shi Lin’s breathing was heavy, and her face was flushed, clearly from running.
“I… I was afraid I’d be late. Why are you the only one here? Where’s Shi Ji?”
Xing Yuxiu was about to answer, but someone suddenly approached from behind, arms crossed, and said casually, “Shi Ji is coming too?”
Xing Yuxiu and Shi Lin both froze and turned around.
Shi Lin was very surprised, her eyes wide open, while Xing Yuxiu stepped back half a step and pointed at the person, complaining, “Hey! Lin Xinyan, didn’t you leave just now? Why are you back?”
The person was indeed Lin Xinyan.
Lin Xinyan smiled, “Oh, nothing. The more the merrier. Count me in.”
Xing Yuxiu had a sour expression and was speechless.
Who was the one saying heroes shouldn’t let trivial matters delay important duties just a moment ago?
