Chapter 138: Aftermath
by tinytreeAfter the incident, the Star Alliance and the Anomaly Detection Center staff conducted a complete lockdown of the amusement park, working swiftly to address any potential dangers.
Many of the amusement park’s facilities suffered various degrees of damage. The park was now in a sorry state and would likely require extensive repairs before it could reopen.
Upon tallying the results, a total of sixteen different types of anomalies were encountered. Most were human-level and demon-level, with four nether-level anomalies that were dealt with by Shi Ji and the others. The remaining anomalies were mostly shot down by Shi Ji with his bow and arrows.
Fortunately, no fatalities occurred at the amusement park, though several dozen people sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Because many of the demon-level anomalies’ corpses were found near arrows that belonged to Divine Hunter, the Star Alliance naturally attributed the credit to him, assuming he had been working stealthily behind the scenes. As a result, Shi Ji received no recognition for his efforts.
Not that Shi Ji cared. Those accolades meant nothing to him. He would much rather have received a million-dollar bonus.
Afterward, everyone who had been scattered regrouped.
As Auntie Cai saw Lin Xinyan and Shi Ji from afar, she began to call out.
“Yo! Little brother Shi Ji.”
“Oh! Auntie Cai,” Shi Ji enthusiastically responded from a distance.
To Xing Yuxiu, Shi Lin, and Chi Yang, it seemed unlikely that someone like Shi Ji, who wasn’t an official hero, would easily get along with these heroes, especially an A-level hero like Auntie Cai. Lin Xinyan was an exception, of course. But seeing the two greet each other so warmly, it appeared they were quite familiar with each other.
Later, after listening to Lin Xinyan’s explanation, everyone understood that Shi Ji was technically present during the Star Alliance meeting the previous day, though he had stayed in the lounge. It was during that time that he met Auntie Cai, who had taken a liking to Shi Ji because he called her “Sister Cai.”
Chi Yang, being from Class A, first sincerely apologized to Xing Yuxiu and Shi Lin for his previous rudeness while greeting them. This change in attitude happened after Shi Ji defeated him.
Class B students were generally annoyed with those from Class A who always boasted about their rare star constitutions. Chi Yang’s apology showed his willingness to change, and Xing Yuxiu and Shi Lin chose to believe him.
Afterward, Auntie Cai had to leave due to other commitments, and the remaining five—Shi Ji, Lin Xinyan, Xing Yuxiu, Shi Lin, and Chi Yang—decided to find a place to relax.
Today was supposed to be a day to unwind, but the unexpected events made it seem less enjoyable. However, everyone felt a sense of relief and gratitude because all the anomalies were eliminated without any loss of life. This was a significant outcome.

At Yinshuang Academy, the short-statured Jing Xin, who had just returned from a meeting in Xiyu, learned about the anomaly incident at the amusement park. The information he received indicated that Lin Xinyan was among the heroes who fought the anomalies.
Thinking of Lin Xinyan reminded Jing Xin of Shi Ji, as they seemed to spend a lot of time together. Currently, Lin Xinyan was probably Shi Ji’s closest ally at Yinshuang Academy.
Jing Xin recognized Shi Ji’s strength and believed that his abilities were comparable to Lin Xinyan’s, making him a promising talent.
Now that the amusement park situation was resolved, there was no need to worry about it further.
“That guy just got kicked out of the Star Hero Academy, and bringing him back there… I wonder what his reaction will be. Oh well, who cares about his reaction. Just thinking about that jerk makes me mad. If you won’t go, I’ll make sure to bring you along anyway. Hmph!”
