Chapter 166: Jing Xin’s Power
by tinytreeDespite being a nether-level anomaly, this Wasteland Wolf was nothing to Jing Xin. And the Wasteland Wolf felt the same, looking at the small figure of Jing Xin with clear disdain.
The Wasteland Wolf had just fought several human heroes. It walked away from the battle unscathed while leaving several A-rank and B-rank heroes injured. Though the official report said the Wasteland Wolf had escaped, the truth was that it simply got bored and decided to leave.
Encountering Jing Xin here was purely by chance.
The Wasteland Wolf slowly approached Jing Xin with large strides, stopping just four or five meters away.
A sharp gust of wind followed as the Wasteland Wolf swiped one of its razor-sharp claws at Jing Xin. The swipe came within ten centimeters of her.
Jing Xin didn’t flinch. She stood perfectly still, eyes unblinking, her expression unchanged.
To the Wasteland Wolf, it looked like this tiny girl hadn’t even registered its move.
“My goal is to find powerful heroes. You’re not my target. If you don’t want me to change my mind, you’d better leave while you can.”
Jing Xin lifted her head, glaring at the big wolf with complete disdain.
“Let’s see if you’re really that strong.”
The Wasteland Wolf’s gaze became more intense, locking onto Jing Xin without blinking.
After about ten seconds, the Wasteland Wolf finally spoke, “Foolish creature.”
As soon as it finished the last word, a gust of wind whipped up once more, and one of its massive claws shot toward Jing Xin again. Unlike before, this time it wasn’t holding back. The killing intent was palpable. It was clear for anyone to feel.
Even in this critical moment, Jing Xin remained unmoved. She didn’t blink, frown, or change her expression. She stood there, completely still.
Within a fraction of a second, the Wasteland Wolf’s enormous claw was just millimeters away from Jing Xin.
And then…
The Wasteland Wolf’s eyes widened. Its claw had stopped, just ten centimeters from Jing Xin.
“Telekinesis… Guard-level hero…”
The Wasteland Wolf managed to mutter these words before its massive body was suddenly flung into the air by an invisible force.
At this point, the Wasteland Wolf had to admit that it had underestimated the small Jing Xin. The telekinetic force that had hit it was far stronger than expected. Although it didn’t last long, the Wasteland Wolf had to use most of its strength to break free. Facing an opponent like this wouldn’t be easy.
It had originally sought to find a strong hero to fight, but it hadn’t expected such a formidable opponent to show up.
As its body was sent flying, the Wasteland Wolf used its brute strength to break free of the telekinetic hold. It flipped mid-air and landed on the side of a tall building, gripping onto it.
Knowing that a prolonged battle would only lead to greater losses, Jing Xin didn’t give the Wasteland Wolf much time to struggle.
With a light leap, Jing Xin used her telekinesis to lift herself into the air. She closed the gap in an instant.
The Wasteland Wolf attempted to jump to another building. It tried to evade her by leaping between the high-rises like it had done earlier.
However, it underestimated Jing Xin once again. Just as it leaped away, an even stronger telekinetic force grabbed hold of it, far more powerful than before.
This time, the Wasteland Wolf was completely immobilized. The immense force flung it violently across the sky.
Hovering in the air, Jing Xin suddenly held a massive black-and-white X-shaped longbow, which appeared in her hands as if by magic.
Drawing the bowstring, a slender, ice-cold arrow materialized instantly, thanks to her special Guard-level Stargorne abilities.
She aimed at the Wasteland Wolf, which was helplessly suspended in mid-air, and gracefully released the elegant shot.
A brilliant blue flash erupted as the arrow shot through the sky, swiftly piercing the Wasteland Wolf. In the moment the blue arrow struck, the wolf was encased in ice, completely frozen.
Within seconds, a crackling sound echoed as the ice began to fracture.
Crack!
Not only did the outer layer of ice shatter, but the Wasteland Wolf itself, encased within, was pulverized into frozen fragments.
