Chapter 13: I am not a hero
by tinytreeLin Xinyan watched everything clearly from the side, although this clarity was limited to the image of the lizard falling. As for Shi Ji’s actions, she only vaguely saw a few blurs.
The moment Gesila fell, Lin Xinyan was stunned. Her eyes were wide open, her mouth half-agape, and she dared not make a sound. Maybe it wasn’t that she didn’t dare, but that she couldn’t. Everything that had just happened was too shocking. Her heart trembled as if a blazing fire was burning within her.
One question persisted in Lin Xinyan’s mind.
Who is he?
The ability to repel a quasi Spirit-level anomaly already hinted at his strength. But to defeat Gesila in a single move, to kill a Spirit-level anomaly in seconds… What was that about?
“This guy…”
As she stood there in a daze, someone approached her. Besides her, there was only that person from before.
After dealing with the anomaly, Shi Ji certainly wouldn’t just leave Lin Xinyan behind. He came up to her, his gaze falling on her injury.
“Are you okay?”
Lin Xinyan came to her senses and gently shook her head.
“I’m fine.”
“That’s good. Don’t do anything foolish next time. Being a hero doesn’t mean you should throw your life away. What you did was being a hero for the sake of it, do you understand?”
Shi Ji’s words were blunt, but they were true. Lin Xinyan felt deeply ashamed.
Shi Ji didn’t intend to say much more to Lin Xinyan and turned to leave.
She was taken aback, expecting him to be more gentlemanly. But he just said a few critical words and then was about to leave. However, she realized he had no obligation to do more.
“Wait… wait a minute!” Lin Xinyan called out to Shi Ji.
Shi Ji stopped but didn’t turn around.
“What is it?”
“Are you also a hero? What is your name?”
Seeing Shi Ji’s incredible abilities, Lin Xinyan’s curiosity was piqued, and she really wanted to know his name.
“No, I’m not a hero. I have no interest in being one. I’m just an ordinary person, a very ordinary one.”
With that, he stepped forward. As he leaped, the tremendous force created a deep crater in the ground.
A gust of wind swept towards Lin Xinyan, causing her to close her eyes. When she reopened them, Shi Ji was gone.
He had left without giving his name, thinking it would make him seem insincere.
In reality, they were not far from Yinshuang. Upon receiving news of a near-Spirit level anomaly appearing, Yinshuang City immediately contacted a few rare A-rank heroes and several B-rank heroes for support.
The A-rank hero was of the Guard rank, capable of flight, and the other B-rank heroes flew relying on his power.
They weren’t slow and had just about reached the scene, searching for signs of the anomaly. However, everything was calm, with no sounds of battle.
“Hey, what’s that up ahead?” the A-rank hero asked.
Just as he finished speaking, a strong wind swept past them.
“What the hell was that!” a B-rank hero exclaimed.
Their formation was completely disrupted. Due to the sudden incident, the A-rank hero almost dropped one of the B-rank heroes.
“What was that just now?”
“The wind, maybe…”
“A wind that strong? How is that possible?”

Shortly after, Lin Xinyan saw several heroes flying in the sky coming to their aid. At that moment, she suddenly understood the true reason the mysterious young man had left her.
She didn’t know whether to feel happy or angry.
“What a rude guy. But… he’s really strong.”
