Chapter 24: Tigress
by tinytreeWhen Lin Xinyan saw Shi Ji, her eyes instinctively widened. At first, she couldn’t believe what she was seeing, but upon closer inspection, it was indeed him.
She wondered what kind of luck it was to encounter him here. Why was he here?
Her brief thoughts were interrupted by a shout.
“You scoundrel! If you don’t stop, I’ll dock your credits!”
This voice was very familiar to Lin Xinyan. She noticed Jing Xin, wielding a greatsword, chasing after Shi Ji while cursing him.
Seeing Jing Xin and remembering her mention of a new student, Lin Xinyan couldn’t help but form a wild, yet seemingly accurate, guess.
“Could it be… him?”
Shi Ji was already close, running right past her.
As she turned to look, Shi Ji had already left the gate and ran out of the academy. He made a sharp turn and disappeared into the bushes.
Jing Xin noticed Lin Xinyan but didn’t stop, chasing Shi Ji out of the academy. However, after looking around, Shi Ji was nowhere to be seen. She knew he was nearby, but finding him would be troublesome.
Breathing heavily, the little girl didn’t stop cursing.
“That damned guy, I’ll dock all your credits after this practical task! How does he run so fast!”
As soon as she finished, a head popped out from the bushes.
“Of course, my legs are longer than yours.”
The voice belonged to Shi Ji.
Hearing Shi Ji mock her again, Jing Xin was furious. She swung her greatsword horizontally, sending a blade of light and a strong wind toward him, leaving the area in shambles.
“You vile creature, just wait! I won’t let you off!”
Lin Xinyan had caught up and witnessed Jing Xin’s attack. She looked at the devastated area.
“Instructor, was that guy…?”
Jing Xin, still displeased, calmed slightly when addressing Lin Xinyan, her tone more relaxed. “Don’t worry, that scoundrel runs faster than a rabbit. He’s fine. He’s the new student. He’ll come out on his own. He’s your responsibility now. I’ll be leaving.”
With that, Jing Xin left without lingering. Seeing Shi Ji always irritated her. As she turned to leave, she glanced around the woods, hoping to spot Shi Ji. Clearly, Jing Xin was still not satisfied.
Finally, she left, pouting.
Lin Xinyan confirmed that the new student was indeed Shi Ji.
A new student? She was almost embarrassed to use the term.
There was no mistake. This was the same guy who easily defeated that almost spirit-level anomaly yesterday.
He was the one expelled from the Star Hero Academy? How could someone with such power be expelled? What on earth happened? And why was Jing Xin chasing him with a sword? Lin Xinyan had never seen Jing Xin so furious before.
At this moment, Lin Xinyan’s curiosity about Shi Ji grew. This guy was definitely not simple.
The bushes rustled, and a head popped out.
Shi Ji looked around and saw that Jing Xin was gone.
Lin Xinyan kindly said, “Instructor Jing Xin has left. You can come out now.”
Shi Ji trusted her words and jumped out of the bushes without hesitation.
“My god, that brat is like a tigress, so fierce. What’s there to be fierce about when you’re flat-chested?”
Hearing this, Lin Xinyan began to understand why Jing Xin was so mad.
