Chapter 814: Resolved
Before everyone’s eyes, Blood Dragon was forced to kneel in front of Lin Xiao. The overwhelming humiliation surged through him like a storm, engulfing his entire being in shame and rage. He wished he could dig a hole and disappear.
“I’ll kill you!”
Blood Dragon’s face twisted, eyes bloodshot. Twin jets of crimson steam burst from his nostrils like an enraged bull. He had lost all reason, descending into complete madness.
With a roar, he leapt up from the ground, arms spread wide as he lunged at Lin Xiao. A murderous aura radiated from him, as though he intended to rip Lin Xiao to shreds.
“The howling of a defeated dog.”
Lin Xiao watched him coldly. Though Blood Dragon’s speed was like lightning, to Lin Xiao, it was full of flaws. He didn’t even bother to lift a hand—just raised a leg and kicked.
Before Blood Dragon could touch him, his abdomen was struck by a thunderous kick.
The blow, infused with internal energy, was several times stronger than before. Blood Dragon felt a searing pain in his gut, as if his intestines had been torn apart.
At the same time, an immense force surged through Lin Xiao’s leg like a crashing mountain. Blood Dragon let out a muffled groan. His charge came to an abrupt halt as he was forced backward, stumbling several steps, each footfall stamping deep imprints into the floor.
Heavy thuds echoed as he stumbled back over three meters before barely staying upright. Clutching his abdomen, his face flushed red from the pain. The muscles at the corners of his mouth twitched uncontrollably, his expression twisted in agony.
Before he could react, a shadow flashed in front of his eyes—Lin Xiao appeared in a blink. A steel-like fist slammed into Blood Dragon’s chest.
The blow shattered his chest bones and sent his massive frame—over two meters tall—flying through the air like a cannonball, straight toward Xiao Zhan.
Xiao Zhan’s face went pale. Already stunned by Lin Xiao’s display of dominance, he panicked and had no intention of catching Blood Dragon. He scrambled aside with a clumsy dodge.
But the people behind him weren’t so lucky.
Blood Dragon crashed into them with a chorus of screams and groans, knocking down a crowd like bowling pins.
He lay sprawled on the floor, the red glow in his eyes rapidly fading as reason returned. He coughed violently, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
Lin Xiao’s punch hadn’t just broken his chest—it had driven internal energy deep into his body, causing extensive internal damage.
Had Blood Dragon not been a modified human with exceptional endurance, he would’ve passed out on the spot. Even so, he had completely lost the ability to fight.
“Still want to keep going?”
Lin Xiao stood over him, gaze calm and indifferent. His body began to shrink, and within a few breaths, he returned to his normal, well-proportioned form.
Blood Dragon struggled to sit up, coughing up more blood into his hand. Bright red liquid dripped between his fingers—a startling sight.
“I… admit defeat. I’m not your match.”
He forced the words out through clenched teeth.
There was no other choice. Before Lin Xiao, he saw no hope of victory. To keep fighting would only bring a more miserable end.
“I know who’s behind you,” Lin Xiao said coolly. “Go back and tell him: three strikes and you’re out. If it happens again, I won’t show mercy.”
Blood Dragon closed his eyes and lowered his head, saying nothing.
Lin Xiao turned his gaze to Xiao Zhan. The man trembled. He didn’t dare meet Lin Xiao’s eyes.
“And you? Anything to say?”
“S-Sorry…”
Xiao Zhan felt Lin Xiao’s faint killing intent and shivered. Cold sweat poured down his back. He no longer cared about pride and bowed his head.
“I didn’t know who I was dealing with… Please, have mercy, Director.”
“I told you earlier to shut up, and you didn’t listen. What about now? Ready to be quiet?”
“Yes! Absolutely.”
Xiao Zhan nodded repeatedly like a pecking chicken, forcing out a smile uglier than crying.
Lin Xiao’s eyes turned cold. “Then shut up and get out of my sight.”
Xiao Zhan jolted. He clamped his mouth shut and slipped out of the crowd, not daring to appear again.
Years of idle comfort had long eroded his courage and fighting spirit. Perhaps he’d once been a fearless warrior, but now, he was just a coward clinging to life.
Lin Xiao turned to Xi Shangzhi, Xu Muchen, Zhao Junwu, and Hu Qunfang, sweeping his gaze across them.
“Any objections to my decision?”
The four exchanged glances and bitterly shook their heads.
Even if they had objections, what could they do? Speak up now, in front of this killing god?
“Since there are none, you have one hour to hand in your resignations. All of you—out.”
Lin Xiao’s gaze swept across the room. His icy voice echoed through the hall.
“Don’t play games. Don’t stall. My patience is limited. You get one chance.”
With that, he turned and left the banquet hall without a backward glance.
The security department members who had followed him surged after him like a receding tide. They walked tall, spirits high, faces filled with elation.
Lin Xiao’s actions today had left an unshakable mark on the security department. In one move, he had established authority, won over the hearts of his subordinates, and rooted out Wan Yunhai’s loyalists—a clean sweep with massive payoff.
Wan Yunhai, on the other hand, had lost both manpower and dignity.
His key men were wounded or defeated, and his control over the department was completely lost.
After Lin Xiao and his team departed, a heavy silence fell over the banquet hall.
The former team leaders—Xiao Zhan, Xi Shangzhi, and the others—and the remaining former members stood in stunned silence, expressions gloomy.
Blood Dragon was helped to a chair. He glanced at the unconscious Bart and Banner nearby and said with a twitch of his lips, “What are you standing around for? Get them to the hospital—now.”
Only then did the others react, scrambling to lift Bart’s head from the floor.
His face was covered in blood. Eyes closed, he looked like he could stop breathing at any moment.
Compared to him, Banner was in better shape. Though his chest had been crushed and his arm broken, he was still breathing.
“Lord Blood Dragon, what should we do next?” Xiao Zhan asked cautiously as he approached.
Blood Dragon sat hunched in a chair, holding his chest with one hand. After a few labored breaths, he spat a mouthful of blood to the side and growled, “What do you think? Call the boss and report what happened. Or do I have to spell that out too?”
“But… I don’t know how to explain it…” Xiao Zhan said weakly, phone trembling in his hand.
Blood Dragon sneered. “That’s your problem. Don’t drag me into it.”
Xiao Zhan’s expression flickered. After a long hesitation, he gritted his teeth and dialed Wan Yunhai’s number.
“Master… our plan failed…”
