    Chapter Index

Yura immediately realized the attacker was targeting Betzi and slammed hard on the brakes.

The car was forced off toward the roadside before finally coming to a stop. The airbags in both the driver’s and passenger’s seats deployed instantly.

Ignoring the dizziness pounding in her head, Yura shouted, “Damn it! Betzi, are you alright?”

Betzi hadn’t recovered yet and had no idea what had just happened.

All she remembered was a blinding beam of headlights rushing toward them, then the violent impact.

A sharp pain struck her head, and she lost consciousness.

    “Damn it… Betzi, wake up!”

Yura struggled free from the airbag while shouting at the unresponsive girl beside her.

Finally able to move, she didn’t immediately get out of the car. Instead, she turned to examine Betzi in the passenger seat.

There were no visible injuries on Betzi. She had likely fainted from the shock and the tremendous impact.

And now, Betzi was the only bargaining chip Yura had left.

    Naturally, she couldn’t abandon her.

Yura pulled Betzi closer and performed some simple first aid.

Even though no one had approached yet, she was certain people were already gathering outside the car. Hart must have arranged this.

Once she got out, she would definitely teach Hart a lesson for daring to attack her.

After all, she was the only person capable of performing Nicole’s surgery.

Yura couldn’t understand why Hart had suddenly turned against her.

While her mind churned with thoughts, her hands never stopped working.

    “Cough… cough… cough…”

After several weak coughs, Betzi slowly opened her eyes.

“Did we… get into a car accident?”

Yura didn’t have time to explain much.

“Yes. The people who rammed our car don’t want me to go save someone. So you must help me act out a scene; only then can we get out of here safely.”

Betzi still had no idea what was going on.

But over the past few days, Yura had treated her fairly well and had even given her a 100,000 yuan deposit.

So she chose to trust her.

Yura told Betzi to get out of the car first. She herself would exit from the passenger side, with Betzi standing in front of her to block the view.

Although Betzi didn’t understand why, her head was still spinning from the crash, so she simply followed Yura’s instructions. She slowly opened the car door and stepped out, standing beside it, completely shielding Yura behind her.

By this time, Yura’s car had already been surrounded by Hetiosmon’s men.

The vehicles that had been tailing them had also caught up.

Hetiosmon and Hugh stepped out of their car as well.

They saw Betzi standing beside the vehicle, with Yura completely hidden behind her.

“Miss Yura, do you really think you can escape like this? I suggest you stop resisting. Otherwise, a rough guy like me might accidentally hurt you—and that wouldn’t be very nice,” Hetiosmon said with a mocking smile.

Hiding behind Betzi, Yura glared around at them resentfully.

    Suddenly—

    a flash of silver.

No one saw where it came from, but a sharp scalpel appeared in Yura’s hand, and she pressed it against Betzi’s neck.

Betzi felt a sudden chill against her throat and cried out in panic.

“Miss Yura, what are you doing?!”

By now, Hugh and Hetiosmon had already moved to within a meter of Yura.

“Don’t come any closer! If you do, I’ll kill her!” Yura shouted frantically.

She pressed the scalpel harder against Betzi’s neck.

The razor-sharp blade sliced through the skin. Dark red blood slowly seeped from the wound.

Feeling the sting of pain at her throat, Betzi screamed in terror.

“Miss Yura, what are you doing? I didn’t offend you! Miss Yura, I don’t want the remaining money anymore! Please let me go! I don’t want to die yet, Miss Yura!”

“Shut up.” Yura snapped. “Say one more word, and I’ll slit your throat.”

Then she looked at Hugh and Hetiosmon again.

“Don’t come any closer. If you take another step, I’ll really kill her. Anyway, she’s useless to me.”

Hugh looked at the hiding Yura and sneered.

“Miss Yura, you know we only need her bone marrow. Even if you kill her, as long as we bring her to the villa within two hours, the surgery can still be performed.”

“That’s impossible! Even if you get the bone marrow, so what? None of you can perform Nicole’s surgery!” Yura shouted back in disbelief.

“Why are you wasting time talking to her? Just take her down,” Hetiosmon muttered impatiently to Hugh.

Seeing the two men continuing to move toward her, Yura shouted nervously, trying to bluff.

“You can’t treat me like this! If you hurt me, how will you explain it to Mr. Hart?!”

As she shouted, the hand holding the scalpel trembled slightly.

In that brief moment of distraction, Hetiosmon moved.

He kicked sharply at Yura’s wrist.

    Crack—

Pain shot through her arm, and the scalpel flew from her hand, clattering to the ground.

Betzi’s legs gave out, and she collapsed to her knees in fright.

Hetiosmon stepped forward, grabbed Yura’s arm, and twisted it backward. Her shoulder dislocated with a sharp pop.

“AHHH!!” Yura screamed in pain, then shouted angrily, “How dare you! Hugh, are you just going to let them injure my hand like this?! Do you realize I’m on my way to prepare for Nicole’s surgery?!”
