    Chapter Index

Hugh looked at Yura, who was forcing herself to appear calm, and let out a mocking laugh.

“Miss Yura, you’d better worry about yourself. As for the young lady, that’s something Mr. Hart will concern himself with. If you’ve got the time, you should think about why we’re here.”

Hearing Hugh’s words, Yura fell into deep thought.

That was true. Without Hart’s authorization, how would these two dare lay a hand on her?

But why would Hart move against her?

Hadn’t he just told her on the phone to come over?

Could it be that Nicole’s situation had been discovered?

But even if it had been exposed, at such a critical moment right before the surgery, he still shouldn’t have acted against her.

Yura kept thinking to herself. She was unable to understand how things had developed this way.

Just an hour ago, Hart had called her, agreeing to marry her and even offering her thirty percent of the company’s shares.

Yet in just a single hour, everything had suddenly changed.

    She simply couldn’t understand it.

Suddenly, Yura thought of the young man who had made her feel uneasy earlier.

Could it be that he could perform Nicole’s surgery?

But she quickly shook her head and dismissed the idea.

He was far too young. Hart would never trust him.

Unless Hart had recently contacted some other leukemia specialist without her knowing.

Thinking of this, Yura ignored the pain in her injured arm and cautiously asked Hetiosmon, “Has Mr. Hart found someone else to perform Miss Nicole’s surgery?”

Hugh’s lips curled slightly into a faint smile.

This woman wasn’t completely stupid after all.

But Hetiosmon didn’t bother answering her at all.

“What does that have to do with you? Tsk. After everything you’ve done, you still dare mention the young lady? Do you really think I wouldn’t touch you?”

Hetiosmon’s words successfully shut Yura up.

At this moment, Hugh glanced at Hetiosmon, whose face was full of disdain, and said quietly, “You take this one to the black room. The boss said he’ll deal with her personally this time. Just lock her up for now.”

    Hetiosmon’s interest immediately rose.

“Been a long time since I’ve seen the boss handle things personally.”

Hugh nodded and walked over to Betzi, who was still slumped on the ground.

Meanwhile, Hetiosmon walked over to Yura, grabbed her by the collar, and dragged her toward one of the cars belonging to his men.

He opened the rear door and tossed her inside.

The movement made Yura gasp sharply in pain.

Her entire body weight pressed onto the shoulder where Hetiosmon had dislocated her arm.

By now, the shoulder was already red and swollen.

But she didn’t dare say another word.

With all her bargaining chips gone, she had no leverage left to negotiate with them.

Hetiosmon saw that the woman had finally quieted down and nodded in satisfaction before casually closing the car door.

“That car is yours. The woman’s yours too. Take her to the villa. We’ll head out first.”

Without waiting for Hugh to reply, he immediately led his men away.

Left behind, Hugh frowned and glanced at the woman still sprawled on the ground.

He lowered his head slightly and asked in a calm voice, “Can you still walk?”

Betzi looked at the refined-looking man in front of her and cautiously moved her arms and legs.

    Then she nodded.

Hugh let out a small sigh of relief. Good. He had no intention of carrying her.

“Then come with me. I won’t need to help you, right?”

Betzi nodded again. Bracing her hands against the ground, she slowly pushed herself to her feet. She had heard what the tall man said before leaving—this man was supposed to take her to some villa.

She had already seen their methods. Even Dr. Yura couldn’t escape and had both her arms dislocated.

Although the man in front of her looked gentle and harmless, the fact that the other man dared leave him here alone meant he must be capable as well.

Betzi had only received a small cut on her neck from Yura. She hadn’t suffered any other injuries.

The reason she couldn’t get up earlier was simply because she had been frightened.

After all, she was just an ordinary person. When had she ever experienced something like this?

Now thoroughly intimidated, Betzi had no thoughts of running away. She obediently followed Hugh toward the black SUV that had rammed into Yura’s car.

If Yura hadn’t offered so much money—enough for her to live several years without working—she never would have come out here in the middle of the night.

She couldn’t help thinking to herself: this money really wasn’t easy to earn.

Hugh glanced at the black SUV in front of him. Aside from a little scraped paint, it looked almost untouched.

Then he looked at the red sports car beside it, its entire front end crushed inward from the collision.

    He couldn’t help sighing inwardly.

Hetiosmon did a pretty good job modifying this car. Maybe I should have him build one for me someday.

Hugh walked straight to the driver’s seat.

Behind him, Betzi hesitated for a moment before sitting down in the back seat.

She was still somewhat afraid of that man—there was no way she would sit beside him.

Hugh glanced back at her, his brow slowly furrowing.

Seeing his frown, Betzi thought she had done something wrong and quickly asked nervously,

“Sir… was I not supposed to sit here?”

Hugh didn’t answer. He simply lowered his head and began searching for something.

Betzi waited for a moment. The man still didn’t respond, and the car hadn’t moved.

She cautiously raised her head to look at him.
