Chapter 852: I Should Never Have Been Greedy.
by tinytreeA monthly salary of two hundred thousand. That was an unimaginable fortune to the old Colin. One month’s pay would be enough for him to live back in his own country for several months. He felt that ever since joining this escape show, his luck had completely turned around.
So Colin picked up the pen clipped to the folder and, without hesitation, wrote down his name.
Dick Colin.
After signing both copies, Colin handed one of them back to Baren.
Baren’s face lit up with a warm, enthusiastic smile.
“Brother Colin, I’ll leave those punks to you. Once this matter is settled, I’ll put on a proper celebration for you with a couple of banquet tables.”
Colin nodded, looking at Baren with a grateful smile. “It’s fine, big brother.”
Baren waved his hand in disagreement.
“How could that be? You’re my brother now. I have to introduce you to everyone else.”
Still smiling, Colin did not refuse again.
“Alright, big brother. Just get ready and wait for my good news.”
Baren knew Colin was now wholeheartedly working for him, and he patted him on the shoulder with satisfaction.
“Brother, then rest in the office for now. I’ll wait for your good news tonight.”
Colin immediately straightened up and looked at this “good big brother” of his with complete seriousness.
“Don’t worry. I’ll handle it cleanly.”
After that, Baren returned to his own office.
Meanwhile, Colin stayed in his office, studying the bar’s layout on the surveillance monitors, thinking through how to deal with things that night. This was the first real battle on the new job, and he had to handle it neatly and impressively.

At that moment, Baren’s assistant, Curtis, came into the boss’s office.
“Boss, you wanted me?”
Baren nodded.
“If that group shows up again tonight, Colin will deal with them. Tell everyone to follow his orders. Anyone who disobeys will be fired on the spot.”
Curtis was a little surprised that the boss thought so highly of that new guy. He immediately straightened his back.
“Don’t worry, boss. I’ll go make the arrangements right away.”
Baren smiled as he looked at the assistant who had been with him for eight years.
“No rush, Curtis. You’ve been with me for so long, and you’ve barely taken any vacation, have you?”
Curtis had no idea what his boss was getting at, so he could only nod and look at him. He noticed that he was in unusually high spirits.
“Boss, you seem to be in a very good mood today.” He tested the waters carefully.
Baren nodded and tapped the contract in his hand.
“I’ve finally found a fighter to take part in that match. How could I not be happy?”
Curtis’s heart jumped.
That match?
What match?
Could he mean the one that would be held in Mu City soon, the underground bare-knuckle fights?
He looked at his boss uncertainly.
“Boss… do you mean the one in Mu City?” he asked cautiously.
Baren smiled and nodded.
Curtis immediately felt a pang of sympathy for Colin.
“Did he agree to it?”
At that question, Baren merely raised the contract in his hand.
Curtis understood at once. Even so, he still felt there was something wrong about it.
“How good is he, though?”
Baren looked at Curtis, pride showing on his face.
“I saw it with my own eyes last night. He fought five men by himself and only came away with minor injuries.”
Curtis was startled.
One against five?
And only minor injuries?
Then this man’s strength really was impressive. In a match like that, he might truly stand a chance.
Seeing Curtis’s shocked expression, Baren smiled and said, “And if those punks show up again tonight, he’ll definitely make a move. Once that happens, everyone will see what his real level is.”
Curtis thought about it and found it reasonable, so he nodded.
“Understood, boss. I’ll go make the arrangements now.”

As Colin drove, he thought back to the moment he had signed that contract. Then he compared it to the way Wang Yun treated Big Mouth.
The difference between sincerity and false kindness was plain for anyone to see.
In the end, he could only blame himself. Back then, he had been blinded by the high salary Baren offered and failed to see what kind of person he really was.
Now, all he could do was place his hopes on the man sitting behind him and pray that Wang Yun could pull him out of this misery.
At that thought, Colin could not help letting out a quiet sigh.
“Sigh…”
Even though Wang Yun was now in Colin’s car, and Colin really had helped him and Big Mouth shake off their pursuers for the moment, Wang Yun’s cautious nature kept him from lowering his guard around this stranger.
While watching Big Mouth’s condition, he also kept a close eye on the man in the driver’s seat.
Colin noticed Wang Yun’s gaze and gave a helpless explanation.
“Brother Wang Yun, I know who you are. Don’t worry, I don’t have the slightest ill intent toward you. Where we’re heading now is the place I’ve been staying for the time being. It’s still very safe there.”
Wang Yun withdrew his gaze from Colin, but his wariness did not disappear.
At this point, aside from being unable to move, Big Mouth was completely normal. After getting past the initial panic over being drugged, he started to get restless.
He was not nearly as cautious.
“Where have you been hiding all this time?” he asked Colin like a curious child.
