Chapter 861: The Boss Opened the Door Himself!
by tinytreeAfter finishing his food, Big Mouth spoke from the side in a cool, slightly sulky tone.
“You should count yourself lucky you ran into my boss. My boss is the best boss in the whole world.”
Big Mouth looked at Wang Yun with a smug expression, as if saying: See how highly I praised you? Hurry up and praise me back. Hurry up and praise me.
Wang Yun ignored Big Mouth’s shameless flattery.
But Colin nodded vigorously, echoing Big Mouth’s words.
“Brother Wang Yun really is a very good person.”
Just as he was about to say more, the door to the room was suddenly knocked on again.
Knock, knock.
The abrupt sound interrupted whatever Colin had been about to say.
All three of them turned to look at the door.
“Boss, don’t tell me the program inspectors tracked us here?” asked Big Mouth nervously.
Before Wang Yun could answer, Colin hurriedly explained, “No. This entire hotel has already been booked out. Even the program inspectors can’t get in, unless it’s the real police.”
With that, Colin walked toward the door. He looked through the peephole and saw the person outside: a young man in a security uniform.
Seeing that it was only a single guard, Colin finally relaxed and let out a long breath.
“Whew. It’s security.”
Then he slowly opened the door.
The man outside saw Colin and greeted him politely.
“Mr. Colin, the boss asked me to let you know that he’d like you to come over later and have dinner together.”
Colin wanted to refuse.
“Tell the boss I’ve already eaten.”
The messenger immediately showed an awkward expression.
“Mr. Colin, please don’t make things difficult for me. I’m just here to pass on the message.”
Colin frowned.
“All right. I understand.”
Only then did the man relax in relief.
“Thank you, Mr. Colin.”
“Oh, right. The boss also said you should bring the friends you brought with you. He specifically told the kitchen to prepare some Chinese food.”
“All right. I got it.”
“Very well, then I won’t disturb your rest any further, sir.”
With that, the man left.
Colin closed the door and returned to the sofa. He looked at Wang Yun in confusion.
Wang Yun merely smiled.
“Your boss isn’t simple. He’s probably guessed what you were trying to do and wants to meet me.”
At those words, everyone’s mouth dropped open in shock.
Big Mouth especially looked exaggerated, his mouth opening so wide it seemed like it could fit a boiled egg.
“Brother Wang Yun, how do you know he’s figured out what I had in mind?” asked Colin in disbelief.
“Otherwise, why would he summon you so soon after we got here? And why insist on bringing the two of us along?” said Wang Yun.
Colin fell into thought.
That really did seem like the only explanation.
“Relax. I said I’d help you, and I’ll do exactly that.”
Seeing the worry written all over Colin’s face, Wang Yun gave him something reassuring to hold on to.
Colin was so emotional he did not know what to say.
“Brother Wang Yun, I… I, I…”
He wanted to say something to thank him, but every word that came to mind felt too light, too inadequate to express what he was feeling.
Wang Yun smiled faintly.
“There’s no need to get so worked up. You did save us earlier, after all. Helping you is only right.”
“But—”
“No more buts. Lead the way. Don’t keep your boss waiting too long.”
Wang Yun cut him off before he could finish.
Colin had no choice but to swallow the rest of his words.
Then Wang Yun turned back and told Big Mouth, “You can’t move right now, so just stay here and rest. Colin and I will be back soon.”
Big Mouth nodded worriedly.
“Boss, be careful.”
Wang Yun waved a hand at him, then left the room with Colin, the two of them walking out one after the other.
Colin led Wang Yun straight to the first-floor restaurant.

Baren was already waiting for them in a private dining room.
Colin spotted the bodyguard who had just come to summon them. He was now standing quietly outside one of the private rooms.
So Colin led Wang Yun straight over and lightly knocked twice on the door.
A moment later, Wang Yun heard the sound of the handle turning from inside.
He assumed a waiter had come to open the door.
What Wang Yun had not expected, however, was that the person who opened it was a short, slightly heavyset man.
From Colin’s earlier description of the boss’s appearance, the man in front of them matched it almost exactly.
Colin was visibly stunned as well. He had not expected Baren to come open the door for them personally. He had never received that kind of treatment before.
Could it really be, just as Brother Wang Yun had said, that the boss had guessed Wang Yun was the helper he had brought in?
While Colin was still lost in thought, Baren was the first to break the awkward silence. He greeted them warmly, then spoke to Colin in a half-chiding tone.
“You’re here. Colin, now that your friend’s arrived, why are you two still standing outside?”
With that, he stepped aside to let them enter the private room.
At the same time, he shot a glance at the bodyguard by the door.
The bodyguard immediately understood and gave a small nod.
Satisfied, Barton closed the private room door.
The table inside was already covered with Chinese dishes. Braised pork belly, sweet-and-sour spare ribs, braised fish… A full twenty dishes in all.
Baren looked at the two of them with a smiling face and gestured for them to sit.
“Come, sit, sit. The food will get cold if you wait any longer.”
