Chapter 883: No One Matters More Than Wang Yun!
by tinytreeWang Yun and Colin stood together inside the elevator.
Colin stood half a step behind him. He wanted to ask something, but when the words reached his lips, he didn’t know how to begin. He stared at Wang Yun with a conflicted expression.
That gaze made it impossible for Wang Yun to ignore him, even if he wanted to.
Wang Yun let out a quiet sigh.
“If you’ve got something to say, just say it.”
Colin hesitated for a long time, stammering inwardly, until the elevator had already reached the first floor.
Only then did he blurt it out in a rush.
“Um… do you really have confidence?”
Wang Yun knew that Colin was asking because he was too nervous. He turned around, looking straight into Colin’s eyes with a serious expression.
“You don’t believe in me?” he asked softly.
There seemed to be a faint, compelling force in his voice.
Colin immediately shook his head vigorously, his hands waving along with it.
“No, no, of course not! How could I not believe in you, brother?”
The elevator doors slowly opened.
“Don’t worry. The victory will definitely be ours.” Wang Yun left behind a single sentence and stepped out.
Colin froze for a moment, staring at Wang Yun’s departing figure.
The morning sunlight fell perfectly across him.
At that moment, Colin felt as if Wang Yun were a general cloaked in divine radiance—someone who naturally inspired submission! He had met many bosses before, but had never felt anything like this. And without realizing it, his own confidence began to rise as well.
It was as if Wang Yun were already the final champion standing on the ring!
The elevator doors slowly began to close.
Colin’s demeanor shifted; he became confident. The anxiety and fear were gone.
He followed in Wang Yun’s footsteps toward the dining area.
By the time they arrived, Baren was already waiting for them.
As they approached the table, the food had already been set out. Each person had a serving of fruit, a glass of unsweetened milk, oatmeal, and eggs.
A meal designed to replenish protein.
Baren greeted them with a cheerful smile.
“Come on, have breakfast. If you two didn’t come down soon, I was about to send someone to fetch you,” he teased them lightly.
Wang Yun smiled in response, as if today’s match were already in the bag.
“My biological clock already told me it was time to wake up and eat.”
With that, he began eating calmly.
Colin sat down as well. Though his confidence had improved, he still couldn’t match Wang Yun’s composure.
He greeted Baren somewhat stiffly.
“Boss, morning.”
Baren chuckled and joked, “With you competing today, how could I not get up early to handle your logistics?”
Faced with this cunning old fox, both of them chose the same approach—eat in silence, sleep in silence.
Seeing that neither of them responded, Baren tactfully stopped talking.
Today, heaven and earth could wait—nothing was more important than Wang Yun, who was about to compete.
Baren quietly watched the two of them eat breakfast.
Since the match would only begin in the evening, they still had plenty of time.
After finishing their meal at an unhurried pace, the group once again left through the hotel’s back entrance and headed toward Blood Banquet.
Wang Yun casually brushed his fingers over the black gemstone ring on his hand.
Walking beside him, Baren noticed the movement.
As far as he remembered, Wang Yun didn’t seem like someone who wore accessories. Or at least, he hadn’t before.
But he wasn’t completely sure.
So he probed cautiously, “Brother Wang Yun, that ring of yours looks rather special.”
There was something suggestive in his tone.
After speaking, Baren fixed his eyes on Wang Yun’s face.
He thought: no matter what, Wang Yun was still young. If something was off, it would surely show on his face.
Even Colin, seated in front, turned his head curiously to look at Wang Yun’s hand. He was curious too—what kind of ring someone like Wang Yun would wear. Especially one that made even a well-traveled boss like Baren comment on it.
But after staring for a while, he couldn’t see anything unusual.
To him, it just looked like an ordinary black obsidian ring.
Perplexed, he asked casually, “Brother Wang Yun, what’s special about that ring?”
Wang Yun had been thinking about how to brush it off anyway. Hearing Colin’s question, he immediately put on a helpless expression.
“This ring belongs to Big Mouth. That guy says it’s his lucky charm. He couldn’t come himself, so he asked me to wear it for him.”
As he spoke, he raised his hand and waved the ring in front of them, looking thoroughly resigned.
Colin immediately showed a look of sudden understanding.
“So that’s how it is. Then you’d better take good care of it, Brother Wang Yun. It’s Big Mouth’s heartfelt intention.”
Hearing that, Wang Yun’s mouth twitched, and he almost couldn’t keep a straight face. He could only nod seriously.
Baren, however, looked thoughtful.
They say age brings wisdom.
Baren stared at the ring on Wang Yun’s hand and couldn’t find anything unusual. But he still had a faint feeling that something wasn’t quite right. He just couldn’t put his finger on it.
So he said meaningfully, “I’ve heard that the boss behind Blood Banquet isn’t just mysterious, their power runs deep. Quite a few people have tried to meet the person behind it, and none of them ended well.”
