Chapter 890: We Have to Win This Match!
by tinytreeThe three of them arrived at the members’ private room section, with Wang Yun taking the lead to one of the doors.
On the redwood door, one gilded word was inscribed: Gurok.
The three of them shook their heads. None of them knew what the name meant.
When they entered the lounge, all three were once again stunned by the sheer luxury of Blood Banquet.
This time, even Baren stood there staring in shock at everything before him. He had been here a few times before, but only to the ordinary private rooms. He had never once entered one of the members-only rooms.
Of the three, Wang Yun actually turned out to be the calmest.
They took in the room around them.
If the room they had been in before was already comfortable and luxurious, then this VIP banquet room was practically a miniature palace.
One wall was left openwork, allowing guests to look down at the ring below, while the other three walls were covered in eighteenth-century European painted murals.
In the center hung an enormous crystal chandelier, radiating blazing light.
Beneath it stood a square tea table already laid out with pastries and fruit.
Around it were leather dining chairs.
On the other side stood a redwood tea table paired with a matching leather sofa.
Behind that was a screen.
Past the screen was a resting area prepared for members.
There was an oversized bed, draped with a canopy threaded with gold and set with gemstones.
On the bedside table sat a bouquet of fresh flowers.
Scattered around the room were a few antique ornaments.
Every single one of them was worth a fortune.
The boss of Blood Banquet was rich to an inhuman degree.
The three of them went over and sat on the sofa.
Colin was still looking dazed as he muttered, “Any one of the decorations in this room would be worth a fortune if you took it outside, wouldn’t it?”
Baren nodded in agreement.
“Forget a lifetime without worries. One piece alone would be enough to live comfortably for ten or twenty years.”
Wang Yun looked at the greedy gleam in their eyes and shook his head.
“Other than us, what holder of one of these membership cards would be short of money?”
When the two of them thought about it, that made sense. There were so few membership cards that the screening process must be extremely strict.
But then that raised another question.
Why had that Robin given Wang Yun a membership card?
Even Wang Yun himself had not figured that out.
He glanced at the clock on the wall. It was already five-ten.
So he looked at the other two.
“Stop thinking about it. Since they gave us the membership card, you two can stay here and watch. I’m going to get ready first.”
The two of them nodded at him.
“Go on. We’ll wait for you here.”
Wang Yun nodded, turned, and headed for the door.
Once outside the room, he asked the attendant waiting at the entrance, who led him straight toward the underground ring’s preparation room.
There, Wang Yun saw Achir again.
When Achir saw him, he gave him a warm smile and greeted him in clumsy Chinese.
“Sir, your name is Wang Yun, right? Very glad my opponent is you.”
Wang Yun was a little surprised. Achir’s attitude toward him was unexpectedly courteous.
“Hello. It’s an honor to be your opponent.”
After that, the two of them even shook hands.
Walter, standing beside Achir, looked full of disdain.
“Tch. He’s just some skinny guy from Dragon Country. Why are you being so polite to him, Achir?”
This time, Achir shot back at Walter directly, clearly displeased.
“Haven’t you heard of Dragon Country kung fu? Li Xiaolong… very powerful.”
Only then did Wang Yun understand why this big man was being so polite to him. He was a fan of Mr. Li Xiaolong.
Wang Yun smiled.
“Li Xiaolong is very powerful.” Achir nodded in agreement.
“You are powerful too.”
As he spoke, he even gave Wang Yun a thumbs-up.
Wang Yun smiled and thanked him, and after that, the two of them returned to their own preparation rooms.
The moment Achir closed the door behind him, the smile on his face vanished at once.
Walter seemed to have expected this and showed no surprise.
“How does it feel?”
“He’s very strong,” Achir said with grave seriousness.
So his handshake with Wang Yun just now had been deliberate. He had wanted to gauge Wang Yun’s strength.
But the result had shocked him.
The power in Wang Yun’s hand had seemed to surge at him without end.
It made Achir feel a faint unease.
Walter frowned at that.
“You’re not confident?”
Over the years, it was only because of Achir that Walter had been able to rise from an unknown nobody to the wealth he possessed today in just a few short years.
In all these years, this was the first time Walter had ever seen uncertainty in Achir. He could not help hesitating over whether he should still place his bet. Then he remembered the wager he had made earlier with that detestable Baren.
His expression immediately darkened.
“I don’t care what method you use. No matter what, we have to win this match!”
After speaking, the two of them exchanged a look, as though they had come to some kind of decision, and nodded together.
On the other side, with the attendant leading the way, Wang Yun also arrived at his own preparation room.
“Sir, I’ll be waiting outside the door. If you need anything, just let me know.”
Wang Yun nodded.
The attendant then withdrew, thoughtfully pulling the door closed behind him.
As the door slowly shut, a faint sneer of disdain gradually appeared at the corner of Wang Yun’s lips.
