Chapter 892: I Want to Cash Out One Hundred Million in Chips!
by tinytreeThe attendant froze for a moment. He thought he must have misheard.
“I’m sorry, sir. What did you just say?”
“I’m asking whether I’m allowed to place a bet as well,” Wang Yun repeated.
The attendant stared at him in disbelief.
Had this gentleman given up on himself too?
With a trace of sympathy, he said, “In principle, as long as you’re a guest of Blood Banquet and don’t bet against yourself, you’re allowed to bet. The amount doesn’t matter.”
There was one thing he did not say aloud. The fighters who came here were all risking their lives to make money. Not one of them had ever been willing to throw their hard-earned blood money back into the betting pool.
Thinking of that, the attendant offered one more well-meant reminder.
“Sir, there will be other fights later today. Are you planning to bet on one of those matches?”
But Wang Yun only shook his head.
The attendant blinked, confused. “Sir, didn’t you say you wanted to place a bet?”
Could it be that the gentleman merely wanted to see whether anyone would bet on him to win?
Still puzzled, the attendant led the way.
“No. I’m betting on myself.”
The attendant assumed Wang Yun was worried it would look awkward if no one bet on him at all, so he wanted to buy a little support for himself just to save face.
Wang Yun knew the man had misunderstood, but there was nothing worth explaining. He followed the attendant to the betting area on the other side upstairs.
It was already packed.
Everyone was carrying boxes filled with chips.
Quite a few attendants had come bearing boxes on behalf of their employers, while the actual bosses never showed their faces.
Wang Yun guessed that those boxes must belong to the wealthy guests in the private rooms.
With that thought, he glanced around, hoping to spot Baren and Colin.
After scanning the crowd, he did not see either of them, but he did spot the attendant who had been stationed outside their private room.
At once, Wang Yun understood. The two of them hadn’t come in person at all. They had simply sent someone in their place.
Tilting his head, Wang Yun leaned closer to the attendant who had brought him here.
“Can you go exchange some chips for me?”
The attendant nodded.
“Of course, sir.”
Then he asked politely, “How much would you like to exchange?”
After a moment’s thought, Wang Yun took out the membership card Robin had given him earlier and asked quietly, “How much can this card overdraw in chips?”
The attendant looked at the card in surprise. After a brief pause, he answered, “With that card, you can overdraw up to one hundred million in chips.”
Wang Yun nodded.
“Then take this card and exchange one hundred million in chips for me.”
The attendant could not believe his ears. His mouth fell open, and he stared at Wang Yun’s face in open shock, forgetting his manners entirely.
“Sir… are you joking?”
Wang Yun shook his head and dropped another bombshell.
“You heard me correctly. Exchange the maximum amount this card allows, then put all of it on me to win.”
The young attendant went completely rigid. It was as if Wang Yun’s words had stunned him speechless. He stood there blankly, rooted to the spot like a wooden post.
Wang Yun frowned.
“Is that not allowed?”
Only when he saw the guest frown did the attendant snap back to himself.
He nodded frantically.
“It is, sir. Of course it is. Please wait a moment.”
At Blood Banquet, the customer always came first. Here, the guest’s word carried the greatest authority. Everyone existed to serve the guest.
Only then did Wang Yun’s expression ease.
“Then go.”
The attendant hesitated, then cautiously asked one last time, “Sir… do you truly want to exchange the full amount and bet it all on yourself?”
Wang Yun nodded and said nothing more.
Seeing how firm the guest was, the attendant did not press further. He let out a quiet sigh, then went off to exchange the chips for Wang Yun.
All bets placed on-site were made in full view of everyone.
Standing to one side, Wang Yun watched for a while and saw that almost nobody was betting on him to win.
A handful of people had, but only because the odds were so absurdly high.
They were treating it like buying a lottery ticket. What if they got lucky?
And then, moments later, they turned around and put far more chips on Achir.
Wang Yun merely shook his head at the sight. Then he caught sight of someone who should not have been there at all—Robin.
The man was carrying a large case of chips himself. He walked straight to the table for bets on Wang Yun, set the case down, and said with lavish ease, “All of it on Wang Yun to win.”
The staff member behind the table stared at the mountain of chips in front of her and froze. Unable to believe it, she asked Robin to confirm.
“Sir, this is the table for Mr. Wang Yun. Did you perhaps come to the wrong place?”
Robin frowned, impatience creeping into his voice.
“I said, all of it on Wang Yun. Did you understand me this time?”
His irritated tone frightened the girl at once.
She hurriedly nodded, then lowered her head and began checking the chips Robin had brought.
