    Chapter Index

As Feya activated her power, the massive trees began to move, twisting and merging together to form a gigantic treant. This treant was significantly larger than any she had awakened before. It seemed to be more sentient and its movements more agile.

The houndmen marveled at the sight, while Liuli, pouting, clearly seemed a bit upset.

“Want to try?” Wu Qingsong offered.

“Can I really?” Liuli sounded timid but eager.

“Go ahead, it’s fine,” Wu Qingsong encouraged. “Let’s see how strong it really is.”

“Okay then,” Liuli agreed, albeit hesitantly.

    “Meow~”

Once again, the immense catwoman appeared, her excitement palpable at the sight of the treant, now a full third taller than its predecessors. Without a word of greeting, she charged forward.

The scenario that had occurred before played out again. She swiftly climbed up the treant’s leg, quickly positioned herself on its body, and began to furiously attack, sending wood chips flying in all directions. The treant’s actions seemed indeed more flexible than before, and its texture seemed much tougher. Yet, against the catwoman’s supreme agility, it was powerless. In its desperate attempts to dislodge the catwoman, it thrashed about, knocking down many large trees. Liuli, however, skillfully dodged them, continuously seeking opportunities to strike.

“Meow~ Still just a big, useless dummy!” she called out while nimbly hopping across the treant.

No sooner had her words dropped than vines began to sprout from the treant, snaking towards her with swift aggression.

“What’s this?!” Liuli exclaimed in surprise.

She slashed at a vine with her claws, shredding it into countless pieces, but more vines sprouted from all over, like numerous agile tentacles, blocking her paths and entwining her from all directions.

“Meow~ Annoying things!” Liuli yelled, quickly leaping from the treant and grabbing onto a large tree. The very next moment, the tree she had just stabilized on also moved.

    “Meow~!”

Before the vines and the newly animated treant could catch her, Liuli agilely leaped away again. But upon landing, she found a third treant already standing before her.

They encircled Liuli completely, vines lunging en masse, covering the sky and earth. She furiously tore them apart with her claws while searching for an escape among the vines. But the terrifying vines only multiplied, and minutes later, a vine snagged her leg. Losing her balance slightly, more vines swiftly wrapped around her, securing her body, causing her to lose balance, and eventually, she was tightly bound and suspended mid-air.

“You deadbeat deer, stop being so cheeky and let me down!” Liuli yelled.

Feya glanced at Wu Qingsong, her face drenched in sweat, visibly exhausted from the battle. Controlling such a battle was no small feat for her, but against an opponent less agile than Liuli, those three massive treants could have decimated an entire battalion.

Wu Qingsong nodded in encouragement, which delighted Feya. With a thought, the vines gradually receded, except for two that remained wrapped around Liuli’s waist, gently placing her back beside Wu Qingsong.

“This is unfair! Three against one is just too cheeky! Plus, I had no idea they could sprout vines!” Liuli protested loudly.

“Do you expect your enemies to inform you in advance about their abilities?” Wu Qingsong offered his hand, and she slipped from the vine to jump down. “Now you see why training is necessary, right?”

The loose, fluffy dress on Liuli transformed into a combination of a short skirt and sports bra, an outfit that looked somewhat unusual from this world’s aesthetic standards, but Wu Qingsong found it quite appealing. It was certainly a significant improvement over her previous transformation into nothing at all.

    “Hmph!”

She dodged Wu Qingsong’s hand with slight dissatisfaction and ran over to Ling’s side.

The transformation Feya underwent after her awakening ignited a strong sense of urgency in Liuli. Until then, she was undoubtedly Wu Qingsong’s most reliable fighter, but now…

However, her stubbornness was akin to that of a mule. Even if she recognized the truth in Wu Qingsong’s words, admitting it was out of the question in such circumstances.

“Ling, how would you handle facing treants like these?” Wu Qingsong then asked.

He had a thorough understanding of the catgirl’s temperament. Now was the time for her to feel a sense of urgency and take things more seriously.

“I’m not sure,” Ling replied earnestly, shaking her head. “If they already transformed into treants and surrounded me the way they did with Liuli, I… I think I’d be in great danger. However, if I could find Feya first, maybe I could use my boomerang or throwing needles to take her down first?”

“You’re right, Wu Qingsong commended her. “Feya, did you catch that? This is your weakness.”

Feya’s powers might have been significantly enhanced, but her inherent physical frailty was unchanged. If an enemy targeted her directly, those three formidable treants would become irrelevant.

Ideally, Ling would safeguard her while she directed the treants in frontal assaults. Liuli would be tasked with disrupting the enemy’s formation from the flanks, attacking those who posed a threat to the treants with magic or firebombs, and pursuing those who fled. The trio’s synergy could indeed be considered impeccable.

The remaining question was whether these treants could endure an assault from Nina.

He silently pondered this. Enduring Nina’s attack on the Death God’s statue would certainly be impossible. Wu Qingsong believed not even Osaga could muster such potent sword energy. Yet, if Feya’s treants could withstand the blow Nina initially dealt to the massive undead, then she’d possess the means to stand against ordinary elves and even duke-level elves lurking from the shadows.

Finding a hundred girls like Feya would mean the dream of rebuilding the Silver Moon Kingdom might finally escape the realm of mere unrealistic fantasy.

“Are those girls up next?” Ram approached, holding Feya’s hand.

“Yes,” Wu Qingsong replied, with a touch of sentimentality.

Time had flown, and the objective he had once promised finally had a slight chance of success.

In a way, the success of this endeavor hinged on the results of this experiment.
