    Chapter Index

The sea lion men stared at Wu Qingsong in fear, even their captain, Eddie, was in awe.

Ling once again used her ability to create a propeller mounted at the back of the raft, quickly propelling it forward, rendering all the oars they had prepared useless.

However, what truly terrified them was the massive dark red body swimming beneath the raft.

The sailors couldn’t comprehend Wu Qingsong’s powers, which made them feel reverent. Eddie, on the other hand, understood the full implications of these abilities, making him even more awestruck.

Meanwhile, Red Moon Yue quietly tended to the unconscious Bernar, all the while sneaking thoughtful glances at Wu Qingsong.

As they pushed the raft away from the reef, the sharkmen immediately prepared to attack. But the giant octopus under Wu Qingsong’s control quickly taught them a lesson. Its tentacles spread wide around the raft, snatching up three sharkmen from the water and swiftly crushing them with the sharp suction cups.

Though bloodthirsty and reckless, the sharkmen were still intelligent beings. Such a brutal display made them back off, allowing Wu Qingsong and his group to act quickly.

The wind was in their favor, filling the raft’s sail tightly, and with Ling’s ability to drive it, the raft moved at its maximum speed toward the distant island. Ling could have pushed for even greater speed, but the raft was not a proper boat. Its structure held together by ropes started to creak alarmingly under high speeds, forcing them to slow down.

“Ram, how are you feeling?” Wu Qingsong finally had a moment to sit beside her.

She shook her head and leaned against him.

“Uncle Bernar will get better…” Wu Qingsong whispered, though he didn’t hold much hope himself.

If only Nina or Alice were here.

“I have Silver Moon blood too!” Daryl suddenly said. “Please, try to awaken my potential!”

Even though countless attempts had shown that Wu Qingsong’s ability only worked on beast maidens, he still tried as Daryl requested. The result, as expected, was the same. This made Daryl feel even worse.

“If my sister were here, Uncle Bernar would…” he murmured.

Wu Qingsong immediately punched him hard in the arm.

“When there’s no trouble, you think you’re invincible, but the moment things get tough, you get all downhearted? Is this what you’ve learned? Bernar is still alive. As long as he’s alive, there’s hope. ‘The Silver Moon Wolf Clan never bows its head’—that’s the most inspiring thing I heard from Nina. Haven’t you heard it?”

    “But…”

“No buts!” Wu Qingsong said. “Never bow your head means not just to enemies, but to fate as well. If your ancestors had acted like you when their country was destroyed, your clan would have been wiped out long ago. Remember, as long as there’s a breath left, you must not give up or lose hope.”

    “Yes,” Daryl said, nodding firmly.

“Tagraedi, sir!” Beck, who was on lookout, suddenly shouted. “Look over there!”

Wu Qingsong ran to the bow of the raft and took the spyglass from Beck’s hand.

Ahead of them, on the island, countless dark figures were soaring and diving down repeatedly. Along the shore, a dense mass of shadows was jumping into the water in an orderly line.

“What’s going on?” asked Eddie, who was steering the raft.

    “Keep going,” Wu Qingsong said.

Whatever was happening ahead, there was no turning back now that they had come this far.

As they drew closer to the island, various sounds became clearer. By now, even without the spyglass, everyone could see what was happening on the shore.

A massive army was continuously marching into the sea. Meanwhile, countless harpies were soaring above, diving toward the water.

The harpies repeatedly used their sharp talons to grab fishmen struggling in the water, tossing them onto the shore to their deaths. However, some harpies were attacked when they got too close to the sea, plummeting into the water.

A few enormous octopus monsters were thrashing their tentacles in the shallows, sending numerous dark figures flying high into the air. Above them, several particularly large harpies were relentlessly attacking, trying to distract the monsters.

“What are those?” Ram asked in amazement.

    “Penguin people!” Wu Qingsong said.

Through the spyglass, he could see the creatures on the shore more clearly. Their movements seemed a bit clumsy, and they wielded crude weapons made of bones and large fish spines, but they showed no fear whatsoever.

“Tagraedi, sir?” Eddie hesitated, seeing nothing but a battlefield ahead.

“Head in that direction, full speed ahead,” Wu Qingsong shouted, his blood boiling at the sight of the battle.

    “Sir, what should we do?”

“What else? Of course, we help the bird people fight the fishmen,” Wu Qingsong replied.

Suddenly, a giant wave rose high near the shore.

    “Magic!” Red Moon exclaimed.

Almost simultaneously, a fierce wind from the shore clashed with the giant wave. The two forces struggled against each other, forming a waterspout that dissipated in the air. Moments later, more giant waves appeared from multiple locations, surging toward the shore.

Many smaller bird people gathered to summon strong winds to counter the waves, but the wind couldn’t penetrate the sea, while the waves could rise anywhere and crash onto the shore.

One section of the coast was hit by a massive wave. Amidst the panicked screeching of the birds, a large group of penguin people were swept away, crashing heavily against the shore rocks.

“The bird people can’t hold on much longer,” Wu Qingsong said anxiously.

“Over there!” Liuli pointed, shouting in alarm.

Huge, shelled creatures emerged from the waves and charged up the beach. The penguin people were no match for them, appearing like ducks trying to stop a carriage. Through the spyglass, it was a scene of bloody carnage.

The harpies were powerless against such creatures.

The wind swept towards them, but the creatures curled up, using their sharp legs to anchor themselves to the rocks and sand. Minutes later, when the wind subsided, they unfurled and continued their menacing advance toward the penguin people on the shore.
