    Chapter Index

Nina was deeply worried about Ram’s state of mind, but after her initial composure slip, Ram showed no further signs of dissatisfaction—at least not in front of others.

She certainly had her reasons to be upset.

In this world, polygamy was far from uncommon. Among the wealthy or those of high status, it wasn’t unusual for someone to have three or four, even five wives. For a lord, having a dozen wives and concubines wasn’t shocking in the slightest.

However, the disparity in status between the primary wife and other wives or concubines was immense.

The primary wife was essentially the co-ruler of the domain. When the lord was away for war or other duties, she could legally act on his behalf, wielding all the powers of a lord. This was seen as perfectly natural. Her children were considered the legitimate heirs, with priority in succession, whereas the children of other wives or concubines held secondary rights at best. Often, those women were merely elevated from the status of handmaidens to legal spouses after bearing a child, and their marriages were little more than formalities.

But three people getting married at the same time? That was unheard of—completely chaotic.

Even if the unique issue of half-elves being unable to bear children meant inheritance wasn’t a concern, what about the future? When Wu Qingsong left Orgrimmar for his duties, who would be in charge? Who would take precedence?

“Lord Tagraedi is really…” one of the wolfwomen measuring Ram for her wedding dress couldn’t help but say.

“Yes, it’s practically an insult to Miss Ram,” another older wolfwoman added.

“You two, keep your mouths shut,” Nina, who had just entered from outside, immediately scolded them.

They lowered their heads and didn’t dare say another word.

“Don’t listen to them,” Nina said to Ram. “Ling and Liuli both have great personalities, they won’t compete with you over anything.”

“I know.” Ram nodded and smiled at her. “Don’t worry, I’ve already thought it all through.”

But Nina still couldn’t completely put her mind at ease. “One’s a half-blood, and the other’s an orphan. Ram, even if Wu doesn’t want to draw any distinctions, people will naturally see you as…”

“I understand, Nina, I really do.” Ram smiled again. “Don’t worry about it anymore. Look, aren’t these fabrics beautiful? Mr. More from the Osaga Trading Company brought them all the way from Phoenix as a wedding gift for me.”

“You’ll be the most beautiful bride,” Nina said.

    “Thank you, Nina.”

“Meow~ Ling, how much longer is this going to take?”

“If you keep squirming like that, the dress won’t fit properly,” Ling said, shaking her head in exasperation.

“But I’m not the bride, just a bridesmaid. My dress doesn’t need to be perfect,” Liuli finally stood still, albeit reluctantly, allowing Ling to measure her. “Wu is such a meanie! Why won’t he marry me? I’ve already slept with him.”

Ling sighed helplessly, while the houndwoman helping them pretended not to hear anything.

    “Miss Daisy, please don’t—”

“I know, I won’t say a word,” the houndwoman hurriedly assured her.

“Meow~ It’s not like I’m lying,” Liuli muttered unhappily.

“Liuli, if you want to become Wu’s bride, then you need to start acting the part,” Ling said, tapping her on the back to get her to stand straighter. “With the way you behave, spouting nonsense all the time, even if Wu wanted to marry you, how would anyone else accept it?”

“Ugh, what a pain!” Liuli groaned. “Fine, I just won’t get married then. You don’t need to be married to have kids, right?”

“Liuli!!” Ling finally snapped, and Liuli finally quieted down.

“Come on, Ling,” But only a few seconds passed before Liuli started fidgeting again. “You have to do your best. You’ve got to outshine Ram.”

“You…” Ling shook her head, jotting down the measurements for Liuli’s arm before moving on to another area.

“The wedding will take place in the Xuanyuan Temple?” Morin felt like he was the happiest person alive.

“Is there a problem with that?” Wu Qingsong asked, a bit puzzled.

“Of course not, absolutely not!” Morin quickly replied. “So, what specific arrangements do you have in mind?”

“Have the choir kids and the girls from the Beastfolk Sisterhood help out. Ask Feya to lend a hand by growing some flowers,” Wu Qingsong said, recalling weddings he had attended before.

The traditional Chinese style felt slightly out of place in this world, so he leaned towards a Western-style ceremony, perhaps with a mix of Eastern and local touches for a unique flair.

“I want the temple filled with flower petals fluttering in the air from the moment the bride enters until she walks to the altar, and the entire process accompanied by beautiful and solemn music. During the vows…”

“For confidentiality reasons, I suggest inviting as few guests as possible,” Harold said to Wu Qingsong. “It’s much better to explain things afterward with an excuse than to risk having too many people present.”

“No problem, I was thinking the same.” Wu Qingsong agreed.

Not to mention the potential fallout if someone with bad intentions saw members of the Silvermoon Wolf Clan attending, the Xuanyuan Temple itself was technically a prohibited entity. A low-profile celebration was fine, but holding a high-profile event that drew too much attention would be asking for trouble.

“My idea was to keep it lively internally without making it overly extravagant.”

“Then we’ll have all the officials and team captains from the territory attend. Beyond that, allocate a quarter of the guests to the Silver Moon wolfpeople, another quarter to the houndfolk, and select the remaining seats from the most devout followers,” Harold suggested.

“That sounds good.” Wu Qingsong nodded. “Harold, I’ll leave it to you.”

“Just focus on being the groom,” Harold said with a laugh.

As the day drew closer, Orgrimmar was abuzz with activity, as if the entire city had been wound up like a clockwork mechanism. Everyone worked tirelessly, racing against time. Streets were swept over and over again. The houses along the roads were repaired, repainted, and decorated with flowers of all kinds—buds carefully cultivated by Feya to bloom just in time. Inside the Xuanyuan Temple, adjustments were made per Wu Qingsong’s instructions, even down to fine structural modifications.

All official residents received gifted fabric, and every evening after work, one could see the women of each household gathering at their doorsteps. Under the fading light of the setting sun, they sewed clothes for the ceremony while gossiping excitedly about the upcoming wedding.

Several merchant guilds and mercenary groups that had long worked with Orgrimmar delivered congratulatory gifts to celebrate the lord’s marriage. Although Wu Qingsong hadn’t invited them to the ceremony, he made sure to send appropriate return gifts, matching the value of their offerings.

Amid all this hustle and bustle, everything was finally ready. With all of Orgrimmar’s residents eagerly awaiting the day. The long-anticipated wedding day finally arrived.
