Chapter 144: The Ruthless Bastard
by tinytreeInterrogation Room.
Xiao Yu’s expression was cold as he stared at the young man sitting in the interrogation chair.
“Jing Huachi, male, 27 years old, local resident, unemployed, with a criminal record…” Qian Long read out the suspect’s personal details from a tablet.
Xiao Yu waved his hand, signaling Qian Long to stop as it was unnecessary.
Xiao Yu stood up and approached the interrogation chair, looking down at Jing Huachi’s bowed head.
“This is your last chance. Are you sure you don’t want to take it? Do you want to spend the rest of your life in prison? You’re only 27. Have you really thought it through?”
Psychological pressure can sometimes be more terrifying than threats.
“You’re not married yet, are you?” Xiao Yu spoke calmly. “Have you considered how your parents will feel because of you? Even if you get out of prison after decades, the world might have changed so much that it feels completely unfamiliar. Do you know how you will live then?”
Jing Huachi’s body trembled.
“Most importantly, have you thought about not leaving any descendants?” Xiao Yu’s voice turned cold. “By the way, we have already found your girlfriend. Coincidentally, she went to the hospital today. Do you know why? She was checking if she’s pregnant. The result… she is pregnant. If you can’t get out of prison soon, do you think she’ll keep the baby?”
Jing Huachi’s psychological defenses collapsed.
He confessed everything.
“Arrest Liu Xingang,” Xiao Yu ordered as he left the interrogation room.
“Yes, sir!” The special task force and local police began their operation.

In the living room of a small villa in a rich area, seven men were enthusiastically playing a game of “Fight the Landlord.”
Piles of cash were stacked around them, and the air was thick with smoke as they all puffed on cigarettes.
“Three with one.”
“Full house.”
“Airplane.”
“Bomb…”
Boom!
The villa’s window exploded. Several figures burst in.
“Freeze!”
A dozen guns were pointed at the men in the living room. The seven men playing cards were shocked. One of them reacted the fastest, flipping over the back of the sofa in an instant.
When he popped back up, there was a gun in his hand. It was a homemade gun.
But before he could lift it to shoot, a figure moved like a panther, as quick as lightning, right in front of him.
A powerful leg smashed into the man’s face with the force of a truck.
The man was sent flying.
However, his ankle was grabbed mid-air by a hand, pulling him back. With a swift motion of the arm, the man’s body was slammed to the ground like a ragdoll.
He passed out instantly.
Slowly turning around, Xiao Yu looked at the remaining six suspects, who were frozen in fear. He grinned, baring his teeth, “Anyone else want to try resisting?”
Glancing at their unconscious companion on the ground, the six suspects began to sweat profusely.
None of them dared to move.

When Liu Xingang opened his eyes, he felt as if his face had shattered. The unbearable pain shooting through his facial nerves was torturous. The agony coursing through his body made him tremble uncontrollably.
As he saw his limbs shackled to the interrogation chair, Liu Xingang knew he was done for.
He was a dead man.
He had always known that his line of work would catch up with him sooner or later. He just hadn’t expected it to happen so quickly.
“Liu Xingang, male, 34 years old, engaged in organizing beggars, enslaving beggars, and mutilating women and children, among other criminal activities. You also trained special disabled individuals for human trafficking gangs. Using various methods, you turned some women and children into disabled people, breaking their limbs or severing parts of their bodies to make them more noticeable… Caisheng Zhege? The most brutal method involved placing a kidnapped child into a large jar, leaving only the head exposed, and breaking a part of the jar at the bottom for waste. The child couldn’t move inside, and after several years, the child’s body wouldn’t grow, resulting in severely atrophied limbs and a completely soft arm and leg, turning them into a big-headed doll. I’ve heard that these… techniques were taught to you by a master, who retired due to old age? The so-called ‘Caisheng Zhege’ refers to the creation of monsters or cripples through cruel means to elicit sympathy and money? You have six lives on your hands and have crippled over fifty people.”
Xiao Yu put down several confessions and looked at the trembling Liu Xingang on the interrogation chair.
“I’m very curious, after doing so many heartless things, don’t you have nightmares at night?”
Liu Xingang’s teeth chattered uncontrollably, unable to say a word.
“Sorry, I misspoke,” Xiao Yu shook his head, mocking himself. “Monsters like you aren’t human, so how could you have nightmares?”
Liu Xingang trembled even more, and he had already lost control of his bladder. The entire interrogation room was filled with the pungent smell of urine.
Isn’t it strange? A criminal worse than a beast, who had committed such heinous acts, was actually capable of fear?
“I have just one question, and I’ll only ask you once. You won’t get a second chance,” Xiao Yu said, his gaze icy as he stared at Liu Xingang. “Where is your boss, Dong Qi?”
“I-I don’t know…” Liu Xingang replied, his voice full of despair. “These past two years, we’ve only communicated via phone. I really don’t know where he is. I only manage the beggars and pay him tribute every year. I truly don’t know anything else.”
Without any coercion, Liu Xingang confessed everything.
Why was he so quick to spill the beans? Liu Xingang knew he was doomed. He didn’t want to suffer before he died. Being a cruel and heartless person himself, he understood better than anyone the agony inflicted by certain methods. He didn’t want those same methods used on him.
In the presence of the police, his mental defenses were as fragile as a paper-thin window. Anything he knew, he confessed completely, just to avoid a painful death.
Ha… Xiao Yu laughed.
Did he think he could die painlessly? Was that even possible? Would those he had harmed agree to that?
Xiao Yu stood up and walked out of the interrogation room. ‘No, before you are sent to the execution ground, someone will surely make you understand that the greatest pain in this world is definitely not death.’
