Chapter 206: Your Little Lover in Your Ear
by tinytreeOn the return flight, Xiao Yu had a big, happy smile on his face as he gazed out at the blue sky and white clouds. His heart had already flown back to Bencheng.
Wang Dong, sitting next to him, had a complicated expression as he looked at his young colleague. After knowing him for so long, Wang Dong found Xiao Yu to be a very strange person.
When solving cases, Xiao Yu was calm, steady, sharp, ruthless, and decisive—possessing every good quality all at once. But outside of work, Xiao Yu was just an ordinary young guy: sunny, playful, a bit mischievous, and full of cheeky comments. And when he was with his wife, he seemed even less mature, almost like a child.
So many contradictions, yet they all came together naturally in one person.
“The Ji family’s deaths were caused by Luo Fei, just as you suspected. A faked suicide,” Wang Dong said with a hint of sarcasm. “It all started because the Ji family wanted that kind of… artwork. Later, when they decided not to buy it, Luo Fei demanded they return the photos. But instead of returning them, they pretended to lose them, planning to use a different identity to blackmail Luo Fei.”
“Hah,” Xiao Yu chuckled, still looking at the clouds outside. “Like an old man hanging himself?”
“They didn’t know what they were getting into,” Wang Dong agreed, his expression gradually turning cold. “Fifteen lives.”
“Yeah,” Xiao Yu replied, without adding more.
The higher-than-expected death toll wasn’t something he hadn’t considered.
“Your current rank and position won’t hold anymore,” Wang Dong said with a strange look. “You’ll need at least a promotion to Second Rank Superintendent and maybe even Section Officer. So…”
“Don’t tell me I can’t stay in the Criminal Investigation Unit?” Xiao Yu turned back to Wang Dong with a grin. “You must have a solution, right? At worst, I’ll settle for just one box of those special cigarettes?”
‘I really hate these bureaucratic exchanges.’
Wang Dong, “…”
‘Most people in the system are fighting tooth and nail to climb up, but you’re doing everything you can to stay down? Is there something wrong with this kid?’
“I don’t like leaving places I’m familiar with,” Xiao Yu said, turning his gaze back out the window. “Do ranks and titles really mean anything to me?”
Wang Dong was taken aback.
He was right. If Xiao Yu wanted to, with just his four First-Class Merits and honorary titles, his rank could easily be First Rank Superintendent by now, with a bureau-level position.
But what would it mean?
If Xiao Yu were to agree, he could be directly transferred to National Security, where at least a team leader position would be waiting for him.
The only reason Xiao Yu became a police officer was simply that he wanted to be a police officer. Otherwise, wouldn’t it be better to just be a relaxed, handsome guy, with his billionaire sister taking care of him?
It’s obvious that Xiao Yu was just too attached to his ‘little piece of land’. If he didn’t have to, it seemed like he was never going to leave Bencheng or the Criminal Investigation Unit.
“There’s only one way, then,” Wang Dong said with a wry smile. “We’ll have to get the big boss to step in.”
“Will the big boss even bother?” Xiao Yu chuckled. “I’m just a little cop, after all.”
“…”
Wang Dong rolled his eyes. “You seriously calling yourself a little cop? Don’t you feel embarrassed?”
“Why would I be embarrassed?” Xiao Yu grinned, winking playfully, “Thick skin, no matter where the wind blows.”
Wang Dong was a bit stunned, surprised that Xiao Yu could say something so shamelessly with such confidence. But Xiao Yu didn’t care what Wang Dong thought. All he knew was that his sister was waiting for him.
The plane slowly descended into Bencheng Airport.
As he walked out of the terminal, Xiao Yu’s eyes landed on Mu Qingwu, who looked both elegant and aloof.
He couldn’t help but think, ‘My sister’s figure just keeps getting better and better. At this rate, how am I ever going to handle it in the future?’
Mu Qingwu was staring at her brother, her eyes dreamy. A smile of pure joy spread across her beautifully contoured face, her usual regal demeanor gone. Her perfect body seemed to move with a will of its own, walking toward her brother, who had his arms raised.
As she hugged that familiar body, Mu Qingwu’s eyes curved into a smile. Her red lips found their way to her brother’s neck, biting just like the first time.
“Did you miss me?” Xiao Yu murmured, holding his sister close and inhaling the scent of her hair. “Feel like kissing me?”
“Watch your mouth, you naughty brother,” she whispered, leaning into his embrace. “Or else, I won’t care if there are people around—I’ll kiss you right here… Mmm!”
Xiao Yu lowered his head and kissed his wife’s lips.
Since when have we ever cared what others think?
Sis, let’s kiss!

Nighttime.
A cozy home. A cozy bed.
“I wanted so badly to find you then, to hold you, to tell you I missed you so much.”
Mu Qingwu’s eyes were full of affection as she rested her head on her brother’s chest, listening to his heartbeat.
“Silly sister!” Xiao Yu grinned during his post-bliss moment. “Were you worried I’d be out there flirting with other women?”
“Ha!” Mu Qingwu chuckled, her bright eyes twinkling with a mix of amusement and allure.
“Not worried?” Xiao Yu was surprised.
“If my little brother dares to flirt with other women, then your sister might just flirt with other men.” The bossy aura returned as Mu Qingwu lifted her head to look at her stunned brother. She reached out with her fair hand, pinching him slightly as she spoke in a husky, low voice, “If you start thinking about other women, I’ll make sure other men start thinking about your woman. How about that?”
‘I think my sister is a bit crazy, and she’s definitely provoking me.’
Xiao Yu felt his anger rise. He kissed her firmly, deciding she needed some discipline.
‘This silly sister is really annoying, and she’s crossing the line.’
Xiao Yu knew he had to set things straight with her. She needed to understand who was really in charge at home.
At the very least, she needed to realize that even a little puppy couldn’t be pushed around.

Morning light.
It streamed through the leaves outside the window, casting golden spots of sunlight into the room, falling on the couple cuddled together.
“Is there a chance…” Mu Qingwu mused, gazing at the light with half-closed eyes like a lazy cat, “that the one who grows old with you will be me?”
“Take a guess.” Xiao Yu flashed a big grin.
“Just say it,” Mu Qingwu gritted her teeth.
“Welcome to another episode of ‘Your Moon, My Heart.’” Xiao Yu’s eyes shifted from the light to his wife, smiling gently. “Your good little brother here is your personal sweetheart, always by your ear.”
“Shut up…” Mu Qingwu lifted her face, “and kiss me!”
Xiao Yu sighed.
This wife of mine, she’s just too much.
How am I supposed to resist her?
How could I even try?
