    Chapter Index

Suddenly, Xiao Yu shot up and grabbed Wang Dong’s earpiece.

“Uh…” Wang Dong tensed up, but he didn’t move. He trusted Xiao Yu completely.

Pulling off the earpiece, Xiao Yu yelled, “Throw down a sniper rifle!”

    Wang Dong, “???”

Up on the helicopter, every soldier froze for a moment. Then, one of them rushed over to a sniper, grabbed his rifle, and tossed it down.

The helicopter was still a good seven or eight meters above the ground. And a sniper rifle, especially a heavy one like that, easily weighs over ten kilos with all its attachments. Dropping it from that height…

Before it even hit the ground, Xiao Yu jumped, launching himself nearly two meters into the air.

He caught the rifle in midair.

He landed lightly, bending his legs to absorb the impact and breaking the fall.

Without missing a beat, Xiao Yu raised the rifle, aimed at the distant warehouse, and looked through the high-powered scope. He locked onto his target and pulled the trigger.

A silent but deadly shot rang out.

The recoil hit him like a sledgehammer. It almost broke his shoulder and knocked him flat on his back. But it was worth it.

On the distant warehouse rooftop, the person lying there with a gun in hand had their head explode like a watermelon under a hammer, leaving a headless corpse flung to the side.

Lying there, staring at the blue sky and white clouds, Xiao Yu grinned.

    Skill: Firearms Expert.

Now that was satisfying. Real men play with big guns!

Of course, the way Xiao Yu was handling things, he’d probably blow out his shoulder before long. He thought back to those stories from his previous life about people supposedly firing a Barrett .50 cal with one hand.

‘Even with my skillset, I can’t pull that off. Who are they kidding?’

    Then again…

There’s an old saying in the sniper world: anyone crazy enough to fire a sniper rifle like that is either insane or just plain stupid.

Why? Well, you can figure that out for yourself.

Xiao Yu sprang to his feet, ignoring the stunned looks on Wang Dong and the others’ faces.

“Let’s move,” he shouted, sprinting toward the warehouse like a charging panther.

Wang Dong and the Team Two officers snapped into action, following his lead. The two helicopters dropped down to about two meters above the ground, and a squad of special forces soldiers jumped down one by one, quickly falling into formation behind Xiao Yu and his team.

The helicopters ascended again, snipers and miniguns aimed squarely at the warehouse. The moment anything suspicious happened, they’d pull the trigger without hesitation.

Everyone knew what they were up against. Now wasn’t the time for worries about civilian casualties or any other nonsense. Anyone entering the line of sight and acting suspiciously? They’d be taken down on the spot.

As Xiao Yu and the Team Two members advanced, they linked up with an eight-person special forces unit just outside the warehouse. Working together, they cautiously approached the building, weaving through the surrounding trees.

“We don’t need live captures, but if you see any leaders, try to take them alive,” Xiao Yu said in a low voice.

    Everyone paused for a moment.

“These terrorists are connected to a larger case,” he continued, drawing his sidearm as he eyed the warehouse. “There’s another group we need to find.”

    Who?

The ones who’d broken into the S City evidence vault, killed guards, and stolen those counterfeit plates.

Wang Dong nodded and signaled to the special forces.

“Hey, little brother, we meet again!”

A special forces soldier grinned at Xiao Yu.

    ‘Yeah, well, I’d rather not.’

Xiao Yu rolled his eyes, feeling a bit annoyed. Every time he ran into these guys, it meant trouble. Four encounters and every single one had turned into a major case—each bigger than the last.

Huh, was it just him, or did Xiao Yu look more stressed than usual?

The special forces captain raised an eyebrow, watching Xiao Yu’s reaction.

Xiao Yu just turned away and signaled towards the warehouse. Tactical signals were universal—cops knew them, soldiers knew them. Two special forces soldiers moved in slowly toward the door.

Suddenly, Xiao Yu caught a faint scent in the air.

“Stop!” he barked through his earpiece. “Fall back!”

The two soldiers pulled back immediately, no questions asked.

“What did you notice?” the captain asked in a low voice.

“I’m not sure, but don’t get near that door,” Xiao Yu replied, not offering much explanation.

The truth? He’d smelled something familiar, nitroglycerin. Bomb material.

Everyone turned to look at Xiao Yu, expressions a mix of surprise and curiosity. He just shrugged and moved closer to examine the door.

It was a solid iron door.

“Got any rounds that can pierce this?” he muttered.

He could probably punch through a standard door with his handgun, but this one was thick. Without missing a beat, the captain swapped out his rifle’s magazine for a special one and handed the gun over.

“You know how to—,” the captain stopped himself.

This was the same guy who just expertly handled a sniper rifle moments ago. He really didn’t need to ask.

Yet, as he watched Xiao Yu, he couldn’t help but wonder, ‘How does he know how to handle all this gear?’

Xiao Yu took the rifle, flicked off the safety, and switched to three-round burst mode with practiced ease. He pressed the barrel against the iron door and pulled the trigger.

    Bang!

Three shots rang out as one. The recoil jolted Xiao Yu’s hands, but he quickly adjusted and aimed at the door’s latch.

    Bang!

The latch and lock shattered. Without bothering to handle the rifle gently, Xiao Yu tossed it aside, grabbed the door handle, and yanked it open. As soon as there was enough space to squeeze through, he slipped inside. From firing to entering, the whole thing took less than two seconds.

    Bang! Bang! Bang!

    “Argh!”

The sounds of gunfire and screams echoed from within.

Wang Dong and the rest of the squad rushed in behind him. They found two people lying on the ground, still alive, with a bomb strapped to the door. The inside of the warehouse was strange.

An entire wall blocked their view, with narrow hallways on either side.

Xiao Yu was already moving down the left hallway, sniffing the air. He scanned every inch, alert for danger.

Suddenly, he stopped, aimed, and fired.

    Bang!

The door ahead splintered as a bullet tore through it, followed by another scream. He lunged forward, slamming his shoulder into the door and bursting through.

Inside, he froze for a moment. He saw six people—women, and they weren’t wearing any clothes. For a split second, Xiao Yu hesitated, but one of the women raised her hand.

    Bang!

A gunshot echoed, and she collapsed.

“Did you really think I’d let my guard down just because you weren’t dressed?” Xiao Yu muttered, lowering his gun.

    ‘What an idiot.’
