Chapter 340: Tell the Peach Blossoms Not to Bloom
by tinytreeWarm light filtered through the sheer curtains, casting a golden glow over the bed where a young couple lay, reluctant to rise.
Xiao Yu opened his eyes and glanced at his wife beside him, preparing to get up and make breakfast.
Just as he moved, an arm looped around his neck.
“Don’t move.” Mu Qingwu tightened her embrace around him. “Stay with me a little longer.”
“Oh.”
‘A sister who refuses to get out of bed.’
Xiao Yu burrowed into Mu Qingwu’s arms. “Hug.”
“Haha.” Mu Qingwu chuckled softly and hugged him tighter. “Hug.”
Ten minutes later.
“Ah… ouch!” Mu Qingwu furrowed her delicate brows.
“What’s wrong?” Xiao Yu opened his eyes.
“You’re lying on my hair.” Mu Qingwu sighed helplessly.
“Then…” Xiao Yu smirked. “How about I press down a little more?”
“Get lost! You’re so annoying.” She playfully punched her mischievous husband, then smiled. “Go make breakfast.”
“Only if I get a hundred—”
Before he could finish, she silenced him with a kiss.
“Go now.”
Mu Qingwu laughed as she let go.
“Fine.”
Satisfied after listening to the soft sounds from his wife’s pregnant belly, Xiao Yu finally got up and went to freshen up.
In the bathroom, wearing nothing but a pair of loose shorts, Xiao Yu admired his reflection in the mirror. His red lips, bright white teeth, and star-like eyes complemented his perfectly sculpted features.
Admiring his toned, fat-free physique, with muscles carved as if by a master sculptor, he smirked.
‘No wonder my sister likes me. She’s definitely drawn to my good looks.’
Of course, he was too proud to ever say that aloud.
Walking into the kitchen, Xiao Yu realized how much he had changed.
When he slept alone, he never lazed around until noon. But with his beloved wife beside him, he had grown lazy.
Obviously, that was her fault—not his!

Mu Qingwu, now fully refreshed, stepped out of the bathroom, her round belly prominent. She spotted Xiao Yu approaching with a piece of meat in his hand.
“Beautiful lady.”
He presented the meat to her with a grin. “Would you like to have some steak?”
“Steak?” Mu Qingwu blinked at the slab in front of her. “Isn’t this just a rib?”
“You don’t get it, do you?” Xiao Yu smirked. “This is beef rib. So, naturally, it’s also steak.”
“Haha.” Mu Qingwu laughed. “I eat a lot now. Is there enough meat on it for me?”
Within six months of pregnancy, her appetite had doubled compared to before.
“All this meat is yours, it’ll be more than enough.” Flashing his teeth in a grin, Xiao Yu teased, “And if it’s not, I’ll even offer my own ribs for you.”
“Amazing, my dear brother.” Mu Qingwu’s big eyes sparkled, filled with playful hunger. “From now on, these requests are always approved. No need to ask, just go.”
“Yes, ma’am!” Xiao Yu cheerfully went off to cook.
He simmered a pot of bone broth, made braised pork ribs, and prepared two side dishes.
The young couple happily enjoyed their brunch.

“Eat properly. Stop staring at me.” Noticing that Mu Qingwu, mid-bite into her rib, was staring at him, Xiao Yu chuckled. “I know I’m handsome.”
“So full of yourself.”
Mu Qingwu rolled her eyes before biting into her rib with extra force as if taking a chunk out of someone else.
“This isn’t arrogance,” Xiao Yu said smugly. “Sister, you know, I could have been a heartless playboy. But because I’m shy, honest, sincere, responsible, pure, and loyal… Those flaws ruined me!”
“Pfft!”
Mu Qingwu, sipping her soup, burst out laughing right onto Xiao Yu’s face.
“Hahaha… Brother, does that mean your strength is being shameless? Oh, and you’re quite the pervert too.”
“Heh!” Xiao Yu wiped his face with a napkin, unfazed. “If the world had no perverts, would beauties still hold value?”
“That…”
Mu Qingwu was stunned.
‘Why does that sound so reasonable? I can’t even argue against it… Wait, no!’
She had been led astray by her mischievous brother again.
Seeing her moment of confusion, Xiao Yu stifled his laughter.
If this were in the modern world, Mu Qingwu would be the heroine of some news headline: A 27-Year-Old Woman Was Emotionally Tricked by Her Younger Husband!
That said, Mu Qingwu was indeed a goddess.
With little experience in relationships, her ability to detect bad men was terrible. She practically radiated prey for scumbags.
Grabbing a bite of food, Xiao Yu stuffed it into her mouth, thinking to himself, ‘Good thing she met me instead. Sigh, how annoying. All I wanted was to be a peaceful, handsome man.’
“Brother, do you know what you remind me of?”
Mu Qingwu asked, watching her brother revel in his self-satisfaction.
“What?” Xiao Yu blinked, curious.
“A sugar orange.” Mu Qingwu giggled. “It looks bright and yellow on the outside, but when you bite into it, it’s surprisingly sweet.”
Xiao Yu, “…”
‘Did my character setting just collapse? That doesn’t make sense. Wait, did she just tease me?!’
Seeing her cheeky smile, Xiao Yu rolled his eyes. “Just you wait, I’ll get my revenge tonight.”
“Oh, I’m so scared.” Mu Qingwu laughed softly and looked at him provocatively. “You dare bully me? My mother-in-law will kill you.”
“Sister, keep acting tough.” Xiao Yu smirked. “I’ll make you call me daddy soon enough.”
“You wish!” Mu Qingwu lifted her chin. “If you’ve got the guts, then kiss me soft… mmph!”
One minute later.
Xiao Yu grinned in triumph, gazing at his dazed wife in his arms.
That was the first time he had heard such a request.

Afternoon.
The young couple visited their parents’ home, with his mother-in-law arriving on time.
It was another warm and happy day.
As usual, when they left, Xiao Yu and Mu Qingwu held hands, taking a slow, leisurely walk home. They would walk a few steps, rest, then walk again—because otherwise, his pregnant wife would get tired.
“Sis,” Xiao Yu called out.
“Hmm?” Mu Qingwu responded.
“What was your first impression of me?”
Xiao Yu still remembered when his wife had been an untouchable ice queen.
“A cocky little fool trying to act smart,” Mu Qingwu chuckled.
Xiao Y.: “…”
‘Can we still have a good time together?’
“And later?”
“You became mine. Whoever tries to take you, I’ll break their legs.”
Xiao Yu held Mu Qingwu’s hand tightly as they continued home.
Tell the peach blossoms not to bloom anymore.
She has already arrived, with autumn by her side.
