Chapter 64: Really Want to Bite Him to Death

On the helicopter, Xiao Yu closed his eyes, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. 

The case had finally been solved. The main culprit was apprehended, and with international support from national security, the corpse smuggling ring was set to be completely dismantled.

Given the gravity of the case, using a Vulcan cannon to blast these criminals would be considered lenient. Especially for the mastermind, Owen–life would likely be worse than death for him now. And those beasts from the crematorium wouldn’t escape a dreadful fate either.

The state would undoubtedly make every effort to recover the remains that could be brought back. For those that couldn’t be retrieved, Xiao Yu felt he had done everything within his power.

Wang Dong had made a promise before he left, to ensure that the spirits of the deceased would find some solace. Although the old coins were cunning, a figure like the head of National Security should be dependable, right?

Xiao Yu had no idea how long he had slept when the pilot woke him up.

“These national security folks really dare to stop a helicopter on the main road. How audacious,” Xiao Yu muttered, looking enviously at the helicopter as it took off.

He pondered whether to ask his sister to get a helicopter for them to play with once he got home. But then again, that would really be living off her too much.

Humming a tune, Xiao Yu made his way home.

The next morning, the gentle sunlight streamed through the bedroom window, bathing a young couple in its warm glow.

“Time to get up, we have to visit both our parents today,” Mu Qingwu said, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she gazed at her brother nestled in her arms.

After coming home yesterday, Xiao Yu had fallen asleep in her arms and slept through the night like a baby.

A tender light shone in Mu Qingwu’s eyes unconsciously.

“Sister, just a little longer,” Xiao Yu mumbled, snuggling closer in her embrace to continue his slumber.

“Heh… aren’t you afraid of being beaten to death” she teased, her lush laughter hiding the blush on her pretty face, reminiscent of a blooming peony.

“Ah, this…”

Xiao Yu opened his eyes, a look of discomfort on his face.

His mom was still quite terrifying, her intimidating presence unchanged. If he got home late, she might actually come after him to teach him the true meaning of ‘cruelty.’

Watching Mu Qingwu get up to go to the bathroom, Xiao Yu’s eyes lit up. He jumped out of bed and rushed over.

“No!” With her icy demeanor restored, Mu Qingwu shot Xiao Yu a stern look.

“I’ll ask a question. If you answer correctly, I won’t go in,” Xiao Yu proposed playfully, his eyes twinkling. “If you can’t answer… should we shower together?”

“Why should I answer?” Mu Qingwu looked at Xiao Yu as if he were foolish, “Why should I give you a chance?”

Her implication was clear. I’m not foolish, why would I give you an opportunity to take advantage of me?

Xiao Yu fell silent. His sister was still sharp. But wasn’t it better for a woman to be a bit naive?

“Stop causing trouble,” Mu Qingwu admonished, pinching her brother’s cheek as she prepared to go wash up.

However, seeing Xiao Yu looking at her with puppy-dog eyes melted her resolve. She knew he was up to no good, but she couldn’t bring herself to refuse him.

“Go ahead and ask,” Mu Qingwu sighed inwardly.

“Ah?” Xiao Yu looked surprised. “Then let me ask. Suppose a guy starts dating his brother-in-law’s sister. Does his brother-in-law call him brother-in-law, or does he call his brother-in-law brother-in-law?”

“…” Mu Qingwu stared at Xiao Yu blankly.

“Haha.” Xiao Yu laughed triumphantly. “What do you think? Stumped?”

“Little brother,” Mu Qingwu’s lips twitched. “Are you seriously messed up?”

Xiao Yu, “…”

Ignoring him, Mu Qingwu turned and walked into the bathroom. But she didn’t close the door.

Xiao Yu was dumbfounded.

What did that mean?

The next moment, he burst into ecstatic, tractor-like laughter and hurried into the bathroom.

Honestly bathing with his new wife, Xiao Yu felt incredibly content.

He wasn’t really foolish. He could tell that his sister couldn’t bear to refuse him. She knew he was feigning pity, yet she softened anyway.

If he took advantage of her, he’d regret it.

Dressed and ready, the young couple stepped out of their home with prepared gifts.

In the morning, they visited Xiao Yu’s parents, and in the afternoon, they stopped by Mu Qingwu’s mother’s place.

On the way home that night, Xiao Yu grabbed Mu Qingwu’s hand. 

“Sister, how about we go out to eat, sing some karaoke, and catch a movie?”

“And let me guess. You’re paying for dinner? You’re paying for the singing? You’re paying for the movie?” Mu Qingwu chuckled, “After all that, if I’m not taken advantage of, does it mean I just don’t get how the world works?”

Xiao Yu burst into laughter, pulling her into a hug, pretending to be upset. “Sister, it’s not good for you to always see right through me. How are we supposed to have fun like this in the future?”

“So, what should I do?” Mu Qingwu hugged his waist, resting her pretty cheek against his chest. Her heart settled, her eyes curved into smiles, lips turned upward. The joy in her heart couldn’t be concealed.

“Obviously,” Xiao Yu lowered his head and kissed her radiant face, “Aside from your kisses, I accept no other bribes.”

Mu Qingwu looked up and bit Xiao Yu on the neck.

This naughty brother, she really wanted to bite him to death.
