Chapter 120: Deep Crater

After last night’s trouble with the anomalies, the staff in the detection center became more cautious and meticulous. With the increasing frequency of alien appearances, all necessary warning measures had to be in place.

Beep~ Beep~ Beep~

At this moment, the alarms in the detection room went off again.

“Attention! Target detected, another Nether-level anomaly! Sound the alarm! Sound the alarm!”

After a few startled shouts, the staff member responsible for emergency notifications reached for the alarm switch.

His movements were swift, and his hand grasped the lever in an instant.

However, just as he was about to pull it, he suddenly stopped.

“What’s going on?” 

One of the female staff members looked up at the alarm, noticing it had quieted down.

“The energy signal disappeared,” exclaimed the employee in charge of analyzing the energy signals.

After a brief pause, the previous staff member still pulled the alarm lever.

The situation that had just occurred was the same as last night. The alarm had gone off briefly, then quickly quieted down. This left the staff feeling bewildered. It looked as if the alarm was malfunctioning. But they knew the alarm was definitely not broken.

They all had the same question in their minds: What was happening outside?

When the academy’s alarm sounded, the entire campus was thrown into turmoil. However, this tension soon dissipated after everyone received a notification from the detection center stating that the energy signal had vanished.

The disappearance of the energy signal indicated that the anomaly had been eliminated. With this assurance, the atmosphere of anxiety gradually faded.

“Could it have been the explosion on the lawn outside the dormitory just now?” a student asked.

Upon further verification, it was indeed found to be the case.

According to eyewitnesses, an arrow had mysteriously shot out from the direction of the boys’ dormitory. Shortly after, it created a gust of wind, which then formed a massive tornado. The powerful arrow headed straight for the lawn.

The current situation confirmed the eyewitness accounts. The massive tornado was indeed caused by a single slender arrow, which created a crater over ten meters wide and more than twenty meters deep on the lawn.

Within the crater, the staff found the remains of a Nether-level anomaly, shattered into pieces. Among the debris was a perfectly intact black arrow.

A crowd of students gathered around, all drawn to the scene and buzzing with speculation.

Lin Xinyan, having just returned from the Star Alliance meeting, arrived early at the scene.

Though the situation had been resolved, Lin Xinyan couldn’t relax like the other students. She stood with a serious expression, staring at the deep crater and piecing together what she had learned from the eyewitness accounts.

If things were as the eyewitnesses said, and the arrow came from the direction of the boys’ dormitory…

“Could it be him again…”

The “him” Lin Xinyan referred to was, of course, Shi Ji. 

Then, she saw the staff retrieve the black arrow from the crater.

The surrounding crowd was abuzz, with people looking around in surprise.
