Chapter 136: Fool
by tinytreeThe Divine Dance Spear was a hook and sickle spear, with two symmetrical, feather-like sharp hooks embedded on either side of the spearhead.
“Divine Dance Spear! Feather Flight!”
With a shout from Lin Xinyan, the hooks truly spread out like feathers, splitting into dozens of sharp, feather-like flying knives that floated in the air with a life of their own.
Up to this point, the battle was a stalemate, with neither side able to gain the upper hand.
The spider’s hard carapace provided high defense. Although it wasn’t as tough as the scales of the previous opponent, Gesila, it was still difficult to break. Lin Xinyan tried to employ the same strategy as before, targeting a single point to shatter the carapace. However, the intelligent spider quickly guessed Lin Xinyan’s plan and used its silk-spinning ability to continually repel her attacks.
Of course, Lin Xinyan wasn’t just concerned about the simple silk threads, it was the adhesive and corrosive liquid on the spider’s threads that worried her. If that substance got on her, it would be a big problem.
At the start of the battle, neither side had a clear advantage. But as time dragged on, Lin Xinyan would find herself in an increasingly difficult situation.
Seeing the knives floating around Lin Xinyan, the spider showed no fear. It leaned forward and charged at her.
As the spider lunged, Lin Xinyan couldn’t afford to be careless. With a pull of her power, the flying knives shot forward, each attacking the spider from different angles.
The spider, facing so many flying knives, initially didn’t think much of them. But when Lin Xinyan leaped up, spear thrusting directly at its head, the spider realized it was in trouble.
Lin Xinyan lightly jumped, thrusting her spear with great force straight at the spider’s head.
The spider thought this was a perfect opportunity, opening its mouth wide to spit silk. In an instant, a flying knife flashed by, startling it into closing its mouth again. With the spear coming directly at it, the spider had no choice but to block with its forelimbs.
The outer shell was thick and tough, not easy to break through. However, the inside of its mouth was all flesh. If the mouth were attacked, not only would it be damaged, but its silk-spinning ability would also be compromised.
The spider realized the importance of Lin Xinyan releasing the flying knives. Fortunately, it reacted quickly. If it hadn’t, this sudden attack would have already succeeded.
The attack strategy was relatively simple but necessary. The plan failed, and Lin Xinyan was disappointed. Although the flying knives were nimble, they clearly couldn’t damage the spider from the outside. However, the situation was somewhat mitigated. At least the spider didn’t dare to recklessly spit silk anymore.
Lin Xinyan kept moving, continuously searching for the best opportunity to strike.
On the Ferris wheel, someone was drawing a bow and shooting arrows.
Shi Ji had been up there for quite a while, shooting a continuous series of arrows. Each arrow hit its target, killing instantly.
With a slight release of his hand, the last arrow flew out, once again hitting its mark.
This was the last arrow taken from Divine Hunter. Shi Ji initially planned to throw the bow away, but he reconsidered. He could always find some sticks to use as makeshift arrows later.
Stowing away the longbow, Shi Ji scanned the surroundings. Shi Lin and Chi Yang had already dealt with their troubles, and Auntie Cai’s battle was nearing its end. But when he looked at Lin Xinyan and Xing Yuxiu’s situation, his brow furrowed slightly.
“What the hell is that idiot Xing Yuxiu doing, looking all beaten?”
As soon as he said this, Shi Ji vanished without a trace.
Lin Xinyan’s fight continued, and after several exchanges, she was still struggling.
At that moment, she suddenly thought of Shi Ji. If it were Shi Ji, what would he do?
Just as Lin Xinyan had this thought, a voice came from the side.
“Fool! The spider spins silk from its spinnerets at the end of its abdomen, not its mouth. Xing Yu, you idiot, don’t you know to stab it in the butt?”
