Chapter 146: Strength Test
by tinytreeFollowing the recent meeting, the Star Alliance had established a basic plan for the deployment of heroes. Yinshuang City was large, and heroes couldn’t remain concentrated in one area for long. They must be dispersed to ensure comprehensive coverage. As part of this plan, eleven A-rank heroes had been assigned to eleven different sectors. B-rank and C-rank heroes were evenly distributed among these sectors.
A few S-rank heroes enjoyed the highest degree of freedom. They were only mobilized directly in cases of anomalies above the Nether level or when there were large numbers of other monsters.
In the sector where Lin Xinyan was assigned, other hero students from Yinshuang Academy were also stationed. Among them were Xing Yuxiu and Chi Yang.
After filling their stomachs, the group headed to the Star Alliance to handle Chi Yang’s promotion.
Shi Ji found it odd that in such a chaotic situation, the Star Alliance still had the time for such mundane tasks. But then Lin Xinyan mentioned the need for new hero registrations, and Shi Ji understood.
Lin Xinyan had previously mentioned that Yinshuang City needed more new heroes to join the fight against monsters. As a result, hero registrations were no longer restricted to fixed times. The registration channels were continuously open without time limitations. Because of this, the thresholds for C-rank and B-rank promotions remained operational.
Chi Yang laughed, “Shi Ji, you’re so strong, you must be on par with Lin Xinyan. You’re not a hero yet, why not take this opportunity to get tested and register as a professional hero?”
Shi Ji had no interest in that. It wasn’t just Chi Yang—Lin Xinyan had mentioned it many times before, but Shi Ji always declined.
Shi Ji had his own reasons.
Soon, the four of them arrived at the Star Alliance.
On the way to the B-rank promotion test room, in a large hall, Shi Ji saw a long line of people waiting to test their physical attributes.
Most of these people also had a Star constitution, but their age was a disadvantage.
Hero academies across the regions were the main sources of fresh blood for the Star Alliance. In theory, anyone with the Star constitution could study in these academies. However, in recent years, new regulations were added, the most significant being age restrictions. Consequently, many adults and children were barred from entering hero academies.
These regulations were established after practical considerations by various hero academies.
The B-rank promotion test room was right next to the new hero, or C-rank hero, registration hall.
Promotions above B-rank have strict regulations. During the test, others must wait outside.
This left Shi Ji, Lin Xinyan, and Xing Yuxiu waiting outside for Chi Yang.
Shi Ji and Lin Xinyan sat on nearby seats, while Xing Yuxiu walked over to the public strength tester.
Their eyes followed him as he punched the test pad with a heavy blow.
Seeing the displayed numbers, Shi Ji chuckled, “They use kilograms instead of pounds. It’s kind of endearing.”
Lin Xinyan nodded, “Well, our country doesn’t really use pounds.”
At this moment, Shi Ji stood up and walked over to Xing Yuxiu.
Curious, Lin Xinyan followed him.
