    Chapter Index

Everyone actually had a form of telekinesis, but because it was so insignificant, it was essentially non-existent. However, those who had awakened as Guard Star heroes were different. They could amplify this ability significantly.

This power was especially evident in Guard Starborne heroes who had undergone specialized training. The strength of their telekinesis was linked to their overall abilities, and it increased as their personal strength grew.

Among the many Guard Starborne heroes, few could reach the level of Jing Xin.

One could say that Jing Xin was a representative figure of Guard starborne heroes.

In the Star Alliance, Jing Xin held a very high status. Something even icons like Black Dragon and Blade couldn’t compare to. Jing Xin’s position was due not only to her raw power but also to her dual-Starborne abilities. The combination of Guard-rank and Cannon-rank powers complemented each other perfectly.

After eliminating the Wasteland Wolf, Jing Xin planned to leave immediately.

But before she could put away her bow, something unusual in the sky caught her attention.

Gazing towards the eastern sky, she saw a mass of black shapes, densely packed like a swarm of flies. Of course, those weren’t flies. They only appeared small due to the distance.

“First we had those running around on the ground for days, and now even the ones flying in the sky are making their move?”

Jing Xin muttered quietly before gracefully. She leaped upwards, soaring onto the roof of a skyscraper several hundred meters high.

What she saw was a swarm of beasts, easily numbering four or five hundred. If they descended into the city, the consequences would be disastrous. They had to be eliminated quickly.

Just as Jing Xin landed on the rooftop, the Star Alliance issued an urgent city-wide alert.

    Broadcasts blared from every direction.

“Emergency alert! A large swarm of beasts has been detected in the skies over the city. Threat level: Monster-class. All citizens are strictly advised to remain indoors. Do not, under any circumstances, go outside. Repeat: Do not go outside.”

This was the first time so many flying beasts had appeared over Yinshuang City.

Many people hiding inside their homes saw the ominous swarm. Although the creatures seemed distant, the danger was much closer than it appeared.

Many people, driven by fear, fled from their homes. They tried to hail cabs to escape Yinshuang City and seek refuge elsewhere.

As more and more followed suit, small pockets of extreme panic and chaos broke out in parts of the city.

Meanwhile, Cannon-rank heroes stationed throughout the city had already begun attacking the swarm of beasts.

Colorful arrows and various forms of cannon blasts were launched from all directions, targeting the swarm. However, the damage inflicted was far below what was needed.

From her vantage point, Jing Xin observed the growing panic in certain areas. She knew that if these beasts weren’t dealt with swiftly, the chaos would only worsen. Once fear reached its peak, the situation could spiral out of control.

Without further hesitation, Jing Xin drew her bow once more.

This time, the ice arrow she formed was both thicker and longer than before.

Aiming at the swarm, she gathered her strength and released the arrow. As it flew, a massive tornado formed around it.

The arrow traveled swiftly and soon approached the swarm.

The beasts, not entirely mindless, scattered upon detecting the incoming powerful attack. They quickly increased the distance between them. Despite the tornado’s ferocity, it only managed to catch about a dozen of them.

Using telekinesis to forcibly drag these creatures down would only complicate things. Eliminating them while they were still airborne was the best course of action.

After thinking it over, Jing Xin decided to get closer and use a more wide-ranging attack. But first, she needed the ground forces, the other heroes currently firing at the swarm, to cease their attacks.

She prepared to contact the Starb Alliance to issue the order.

As she connected the call, an approaching gale brought with it a sense of overwhelming pressure. She paused on the spot.

She looked up and saw a glowing point heading towards the swarm from the east.

    “What…?”

The glowing point quickly grew into a massive tornado. It expanded rapidly in just a few moments. As it neared the swarm, the vortex grew larger and larger. Soon, it was big enough to swallow it whole.

With one fierce surge, the tornado engulfed the entire swarm. In a matter of one or two seconds, the beasts were torn apart and reduced to nothing but fragments.
