Chapter 187: Universal Gravitation
by tinytreeWhen the Doctor slipped away, Shi Ji saw the whole thing clearly. He dove into a patch of bushes and disappeared instantly. Following his trail, Shi Ji found an underground passage hidden beneath.
Shi Ji didn’t think too much about it at the time. He simply followed the path, going deeper and deeper until he reached this place.
Ten minutes earlier, he’d arrived at the end of the tunnel.
That was when he realized just how vast it was down here. A huge plaza had been secretly constructed underground, packed with thousands upon thousands of aberrations of all ranks and forms.
For an ordinary person, just seeing this would have been enough to knock them out cold from fear.
Shi Ji didn’t jump right in. He paused and watched for a while.
The intricate work down here was too precise to have been built without human technology. And when he thought about that cyborg with part of his head missing, it all started to make sense.
One question kept nagging at him.
Why would a human ally with aberrations? And with such a huge number of them?
Shi Ji thought it over and ultimately shrugged it off. It wasn’t his job to worry about other people’s choices. Besides, that guy was clearly not one of the good ones.
He’d attacked Shi Ji without a word of warning. With a strike like that, even an S-rank hero would have been injured if they took it head-on. It was clear he’d meant to do some real damage.
Shi Ji couldn’t be bothered to worry about all that.
Without hesitation, he stepped out from behind his hiding spot and strolled confidently into the underground plaza.
His presence immediately caught the attention of the surrounding aberrations.
Seeing a human casually walk into their midst, the creatures were momentarily stunned. But none of them seemed particularly surprised, and none made any immediate moves to attack.
Instead, smirks spread across their faces—smirks filled with disdain.
The sight of so many aberrations sneering at once was unnerving, to say the least.
The aberrations quickly moved in, and before long, they had Shi Ji surrounded.
Compared to these towering creatures, Shi Ji looked tiny, almost insignificant. To them, he must have seemed like an ant—one that could be crushed with a single pinch.
“Well, well! A human just waltzed right in here.”
“Do humans taste good? I’ve never had one before.”
“What’s so great about a man? Tender-skinned little girls are tastier.”
As they exchanged crude laughs, one of the aberrations stepped up to Shi Ji. In leaned in close with its sharp claws extended toward him.
Seeing that he didn’t flinch or move, they assumed his legs had gone weak with fear, leaving him frozen in place.
With so many aberrations gathered here, even an S-rank hero would be stunned by the sight. So, naturally, they thought this weak-looking kid had to be terrified out of his mind. That was exactly what they believed.
Shi Ji looked up at the aberration in front of him and casually asked, “Hey, just now a big guy with part of his skull missing came through here. Do you know where he went?”
Hearing this, the surrounding aberrations immediately knew who he was talking about.
The creature in front of him flew into a rage.
“You miserable ant! How dare you disrespect the Doctor! Die!”
With that, the aberration swung its claw straight at Shi Ji.
In a split second, there was a flash of cold light. A swift, slicing sound—and the aberration’s arm fell to the ground.
“Aaagh!!!”
It shrieked in agony, stumbling back several steps.
Chaos erupted instantly. The situation spiraled out of control. Who would’ve thought that this kid, whom they had all dismissed as an ant, would turn out to be so fierce?
“Get him! Take this kid down!” someone shouted.
In the next moment, all the surrounding aberrations lunged at Shi Ji. The sheer number was daunting, and he couldn’t help but think, What a hassle.
“Universal Gravitation…” Shi Ji muttered, the words slipping slowly from his lips.
