Chapter 19: Settling Matters
by tinytreeEarlier, when Shi Ji was outside the academy, someone had already noticed him. It was this male instructor who recognized him as the student recently transferred from the Star Hero Academy. Due to the special circumstances, they didn’t open the gate immediately.
He saw Jing Xin on the surveillance camera, contacted her, and asked her to guide Shi Ji.
The male instructor held Jing Xin in high regard, always maintaining a respectful demeanor and minimizing his own status when asking for her help, fearing he might offend her.
Seeing Jing Xin personally bringing Shi Ji in had shocked the male instructor. He had only asked her to point Shi Ji in the right direction, but he hadn’t expected this.
The male instructor had some understanding of Jing Xin. Remembering her earlier words, he seemed to understand something and wisely refrained from asking more questions, promptly agreeing instead.
“Alright, alright, I’ll contact Instructor Hua Feng right away.”
Saying this, he opened a drawer in the desk, took out a high-tech wristband and a magnetic card, and handed them to Shi Ji.
Shi Ji knew what the wristband was for. All students at hero academies had one. It was used to receive messages from the academy and other agencies, ensuring effective communication.
Jing Xin, being a senior instructor, had just resolved the fifty-thousand-yuan camera issue. Shi Ji, who had been somewhat despondent, instantly brightened up, gratefully accepting the wristband and card, feeling relieved and joyful.
The male instructor smiled at Jing Xin and said, “His information was sent over yesterday, and I’ve already prepared everything in advance.”
Jing Xin then led Shi Ji out. As Shi Ji was about to leave the office, the male instructor suddenly called out to him.
“Hey, Shi Ji, wait a minute.”
His voice turned serious again.
Shi Ji stopped and turned back, still smiling at the male instructor.
“Instructor, is there anything else?”
“You better watch your mouth from now on and call her Instructor Jing Xin.”
Without replying, Shi Ji left.
No sooner had the male instructor reminded him than he heard Shi Ji’s voice as he stepped out of the office.
“Thanks, little girl!”
The male instructor’s face turned grim, and he slammed his hand on the desk.

Having resolved the fifty-thousand-yuan issue and completed the necessary procedures, Shi Ji felt elated, his spirits high. A complex day seemed to finally be coming to an end.
Despite Jing Xin being a teacher, a petite one trying to appear mature and already 24 years old, Shi Ji habitually saw her as a little girl.
After leaving the administrative building, Shi Ji didn’t forget his manners and thanked Jing Xin, recognizing that the smooth resolution was entirely due to her efforts.
“Thanks a lot for today, little girl!”
Hearing herself called a little girl again, Jing Xin pouted. She was clearly displeased. After a moment, she adopted a more serious expression and glared at Shi Ji.
“I left the Star Hero Academy to teach here a year ago, the same year you enrolled. The Star Hero Academy is the best hero academy in the world. Students here at Yinshuang Academy view it as a turning point in their lives. Studying there is an honor. Why didn’t you cherish the opportunity?”
Shi Ji had gone there solely for the fifty-thousand-yuan scholarship. However, the scholarship requirements were too high, and the school was too strict, contrary to the life he had hoped for, so…
“Because I was bored there.”
Leaving this simple sentence behind, Shi Ji turned and walked away.
