Chapter 20: Lin Xinyan
by tinytreeJing Xin watched Shi Ji leave, only turning her gaze away once he was completely out of sight.
She stood there, arms crossed, eyes closed, contemplating.
Having already exchanged blows with Shi Ji, she realized this seemingly casual person was far stronger than she had imagined.
In the Star Hero Academy, he would have been one of the top students. Yet, someone like him was expelled due to personal reasons. Jing Xin couldn’t understand this. Shi Ji had said it was boring, but she couldn’t comprehend his mindset or feelings. She had a premonition that this unique individual would bring many interesting things into her life.
Slowly opening her eyes, Jing Xin turned her head. She noticed a girl in a white dress with a white coat approaching.
The girl, with her silver hair and bright smile, quickened her pace upon seeing Jing Xin. Her long legs, encased in black stockings, moved with light and nimble steps.
“Instructor, long time no see.”
The girl was visibly excited to see Jing Xin.
If Shi Ji were here, he would have instantly recognized this beautiful girl. She was none other than Lin Xinyan, who had sat next to Shi Ji a couple of hours earlier. Coincidentally, Lin Xinyan was also a student at Yinshuang Academy and a student of Jing Xin.
Jing Xin nodded, “How was your break? You didn’t neglect your studies, did you?”
Seeing Lin Xinyan’s enthusiasm, Jing Xin set aside her thoughts, displaying a calm demeanor with a smile on her face.
Proud and somewhat smug, Lin Xinyan replied, “I always remember your teachings and didn’t slack off at all. Instructor, I officially registered as a hero a few days after the break began. With my efforts over the holiday, I’ve now become a B-rank hero.”
Jing Xin was always concerned about her students and had known about Lin Xinyan becoming a hero right away. As Lin Xinyan’s instructor, she was well aware of her capabilities. In her view, Lin Xinyan had already reached the level of an A-rank hero. It was only a matter of time before she advanced.
“Very good. Keep up the hard work,” Jing Xin encouraged Lin Xinyan.
Lin Xinyan nodded earnestly. “I will remember your teachings.”
After exchanging greetings, Jing Xin recalled another matter.
She relaxed and asked casually, “The academy’s routine practical tasks have already started. With your personality, why are you only arriving now?”
Jing Xin had hit the crucial point. Lin Xinyan felt a bit embarrassed, “Oh, I ran into some trouble on the way, so I’m late. I’ll make up for the lost time. I’d better get going now, so I don’t waste any more time.”
Lin Xinyan’s attitude towards her work was commendable. Normally, Jing Xin wouldn’t stop her, but the current situation was special. Jing Xin had some ideas.
As Lin Xinyan was about to leave, Jing Xin called her back.
“Considering the time, it’s better not to rush. Start tomorrow. Besides, a new student has just transferred from the Star Hero Academy. He’s not familiar with some things here yet. As a senior student, you can guide him.”
For a moment, Lin Xinyan was stunned.
“A new student… from the Star Hero Academy?”
