Chapter 3: Cunning

Shi Ji initially didn’t want to resort to violence, but if he didn’t take action now, he would feel a little guilty.

He sat casually, a cold smile on his face. 

A B-rank hero? What a joke. How could someone like this be considered a hero?

Xian Ning initially wore a smug expression. He relished being surrounded and defended by fans. But after hearing Shi Ji’s unfriendly remarks, his expression stiffened. He struggled to hide his anger, aware that with so many fans around, he couldn’t afford to damage his image. His stiff expression didn’t show any signs of rage.

“Hey! What’s your problem? How can you just insult people like that?”

Although Xian Ning said nothing, someone else spoke up. A girl, visibly angry, stepped forward and pointed her finger at Shi Ji’s nose.

A stone tossed into the water causes a thousand ripples. Soon, others around joined in criticizing Shi Ji, and more insults followed.

“Jerk! Apologize now!”

“How dare you speak to our Ning Ning like that! Are you tired of living?”

“Idiot! Apologize now, or don’t blame us for being rude!”

Xian Ning’s face showed a hint of a smile. His silence didn’t mean his fans would do nothing. This seemingly harmonious response would boost his popularity, a win-win situation.

Amidst the curses, Xian Ning felt it was time to make an appearance.

He raised his hand, “Alright, everyone, please don’t blame this brother. After all, everyone has different qualities. We shouldn’t stoop to his level, so please, let’s drop it and forgive him.”

“Wow! Ning Ning is so kind! I love you, Ning Ning!”

“Ning Ning is such a good person!”

Hearing this, Shi Ji couldn’t help but pick his ears. These voices were incredibly annoying. He was clearly being bullied, and yet these people were playing dumb.

Faced with endless insults and accusations, Shi Ji said nothing, did nothing, and continued sitting. The cold smile remained on his face, as he kept his eyes fixed on Xian Ning.

What disgusted Shi Ji was Xian Ning’s shamelessness, using this situation to boost his fan approval. It was utterly despicable.

“Haha…” Suddenly, Shi Ji, who had been silent for a while, burst into laughter. “Haha… How amusing! This is my seat, and you lot, with your lousy attitudes want me to leave? Are you deaf or blind following this so-called B-rank hero to bully an ordinary civilian, huh?”

Shi Ji had long thought of a strategy, which gave him the confidence to act this way.

Hearing his voice, the crowd quieted down, turning their attention back to Shi Ji. Xian Ning’s smile froze again but remained calm, showing no signs of anger.

“Hey! Punk, our Ning Ning was willing to let it go, but now you’re asking for trouble!”

“Yeah! If you know what’s good for you, get lost and give Ning Ning the seat!”

Shi Ji ignored them. Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, he slowly stood up. He had nothing on him, making his actions more convenient.

Shi Ji was quite handsome, even more so than Xian Ning. Surrounded by so many people, the only thing missing was the special status of a hero.

The smile on Shi Ji’s face grew wider.

“B-rank hero Xian Ning, huh? Quite impressive. Since everyone calls you a hero, let me see just how powerful you really are. Enjoy your fun while it lasts. Rest assured, I’m not letting you off today.”
