    Chapter Index

The bustling Yinshuang Academy was a stark contrast to the quiet atmosphere Shi Ji had encountered on his first visit. The streets were filled with people, laughter, and continuous chatter.

After a day of wandering around outside, Shi Ji returned to his room to rest for a while, then headed to the bathroom for a shower.

Once the cafeteria opened, Shi Ji had a satisfying meal before comfortably returning to his dorm. He turned on his computer and put on an obscure movie, watching it absentmindedly.

    Before long, his wristband beeped.

He looked at it and saw a notification about the practical task results.

“Congratulations to student Shi Ji for passing the Yinshuang Academy practical task assessment with a score of 60 points. Keep up the good work!”

Shi Ji had only helped at the bun shop, earning a basic score. That seemed to be enough.

Although the computer was still on, Shi Ji’s attention drifted. He looked up at the ceiling, smiling.

He had left the Star Hero Academy to avoid too many constraints. Now at Yinshuang Academy, it should be his time to shine.

“Haha. My era has arrived!” he shouted, the computer’s sound completely drowned out by his voice.

Other students in the hallway also heard his exuberant shout.

Shi Ji was both excited and impatient about his life at Yinshuang Academy. The next day would be the official start of the semester, and he couldn’t wait to see what interesting things might happen.

With these thoughts, he turned off the computer and jumped into bed. Before long, he was in a sweet, restful sleep.

In his dreams, he saw, heard, and smelled freedom.

He woke up at seven in the morning. Not too early, not too late—a normal waking time.

By habit, Shi Ji would never get up this early unless he had something he really wanted to do. He didn’t particularly enjoy classes, but he had gone to bed early the night before and naturally woke up. Plus, he was eager to explore his new school.

He brushed his teeth, washed his face, and quickly got ready.

Feeling refreshed, Shi Ji headed out to get breakfast.

He wasn’t the only one in the hallway, there were other students too.

All the other students wore clean, tailored, and fashionable white uniforms, specifically designed for Yinshuang Academy.

Shi Ji paused for a moment, looking at the white uniforms before glancing down at his own black clothes.

It wasn’t his fault. He was new and hadn’t received a uniform yet.

So, in a sea of white, Shi Ji, dressed entirely in black, stood out as he made his way out of the dorm.

Classes officially started at nine in the morning, a time Shi Ji found very agreeable.

Having just left the dorm, Shi Ji went to the cafeteria to grab some breakfast.

The dining hall was crowded, but it was large enough not to feel overly packed.

He had noticed the large numbers posted at the food counters the previous afternoon but hadn’t paid much attention. Today, he joined a shorter line and swiped his card to get his meal, only to encounter a problem.

“Insufficient credits. Please check and swipe again.”

    A confused Shi Ji frowned.

“What the hell does that mean?”
