Chapter 63: Not Worthy
by tinytreeWhen disputes arise, duels often seem the best way to settle things.
As soon as someone mentioned a duel, the entire class buzzed with excitement.
Among all these people, the only one who knew how formidable Shi Ji was, was Lin Xinyan. If anyone were to challenge Shi Ji, they were in for a beating.
Lin Xinyan remained seated, her gaze fixed on Shi Ji. Knowing him well, she realized this situation shouldn’t have escalated this far just over such a matter. Of course, Shi Ji was right. The students in Class A did find a sense of superiority and existence at Yinshuang Academy, which naturally fostered a sense of arrogance.
Listening to the chatter around her, Lin Xinyan felt she should step in to prevent things from getting out of hand.
She stood up and looked around.
“Alright, everyone quiet down. This is study time, not a place for shouting and yelling.”
Lin Xinyan, besides being an A-rank hero, held considerable prestige at Yinshuang Academy. She was the undisputed strongest in Class A. Of course, with Shi Ji’s arrival, she was ready to step aside for him.
Hearing Lin Xinyan speak, the classroom quickly quieted down.
A male student then said to Lin Xinyan, “Lin Xinyan, this guy is clearly here to stir up trouble. You can’t side with an outsider.”
Lin Xinyan didn’t see Shi Ji as an outsider. They were good friends.
“He’s just stating a factual observation. In front of Soldier rank Stars, we do naturally feel superior. Some even mock those with Soldier rank Stars. The reason you’re upset by his comments is because he pointed out the truth. Sometimes, we are like frogs in a well, short-sighted and narrow-minded.”
Despite the validity of her words, some still felt uncomfortable.
Another male student dismissively said, “Lin Xinyan, don’t interfere with this. I’ll deal with him properly after class.”
Hearing this, Lin Xinyan immediately understood his intentions. Within the academy, some matters she could intervene in, but others, she couldn’t.
She turned to Shi Ji, “Don’t you want to say something?”
Facing Lin Xinyan, Shi Ji smiled. In this class, Lin Xinyan might be the only one he would genuinely smile at.
“No, there’s nothing to say. I thought this class would be impressive, but it turns out to be like this. It seems I don’t fit in here. Lin Xinyan, I’m sorry.”
With that, Shi Ji stood up and walked away.
“Hey, you brat! Running away?”
“Just wait till class ends!”
Lin Xinyan was stunned and hurried after him.
“Shi Ji! Where are you going?”
As the two reached the classroom door, a short girl blocked their way.
Jing Xin had been listening outside the classroom and was fully aware of what had happened.
This situation was unexpected. She had hoped it would be controllable but hadn’t accounted for Shi Ji’s personality.
Shi Ji was an enigma. Usually carefree and unruly, but when it came to certain matters, especially serious issues regarding heroes, he transformed into a very serious person.
Seeing Jing Xin, the students quickly fell silent and sat down.
With Jing Xin taking over, Lin Xinyan obediently returned to her seat.
Jing Xin then looked up at the tall Shi Ji.
“Have you made up your mind?”
