Chapter 79: Enrollment Evaluation
by tinytreeShi Ji felt a strange sensation. Although today was his first day, he didn’t feel the urge to sleep like he did at Star Hero Academy. Instead, he found the practical class quite interesting.
They spent twenty minutes warming up and ten minutes resting. The remaining time was for the actual practical content.
Shi Ji was tall, standing at the back, which meant he couldn’t see the short Jing Xin in front. He could only listen to her speak.
Jing Xin was originally an instructor at Star Hero Academy, and at Yinshuang Academy, she still used her original teaching methods. To her, it didn’t matter if someone had a rare Star constitution or a soldier Star constitution. The only difference was each person’s determination.
The petite Jing Xin stood in front of everyone, her hands on her hips, pacing back and forth.
“The vacation is over, and the practical tasks are completed. From what I’ve seen, most of you have earned decent credits.”
Her use of “most” was quite accurate, as Shi Ji was the only one in Class B with just passing credits.
“But credits are just numbers and don’t necessarily reflect your actual strength. So, for today’s first class, we’ll assess your abilities to see how much you’ve grown over the break.”
To check if students had been slacking, most tutors would start the first practical class with an evaluation.
Everyone knew this was coming, so no one was surprised, including Shi Ji.
Jing Xin turned to Xing Yuxiu, who was standing nearby. “Xing Yuxiu, take the boys to the outdoor field. I’ll be there shortly.”
All the boys followed Xing Yuxiu out of the practical hall, leaving about ten girls behind.
On the way to the training field, Shi Ji curiously asked a fellow student beside him.
“Why are we separating from the girls? How does this work?”
The student beside him smiled and explained, “Instructor Jing Xin’s evaluations are always quite straightforward. Doing one-on-one matches would waste too much time, so every time, it’s an all-out brawl. There’s a difference between boys and girls, especially in the academy. If we accidentally take advantage of a girl, it might feel good in the moment, but it’s not proper behavior. Because of this, boys and girls are separated. Why, Shi Ji, do you have any other thoughts?”
Shi Ji, of course, had no ulterior motives. He was just curious and asked casually.
He didn’t dwell on it and remained as calm as usual.
At this point, another student spoke up.
“Shi Ji, we’re about to have an all-out brawl. You’re new, so be careful. Don’t take it personally if you get hurt. This is how strict Instructor Jing Xin is.”
Thinking back to the people at Star Hero Academy and the majority of Class A students, Shi Ji felt the urge to laugh. Indeed, this class suited him much better. It seemed he had found the reason why he didn’t want to sleep and instead somewhat enjoyed it here. It was the overall atmosphere of Class B.
However, he still felt a bit hesitant about really getting into a fight.
Reflecting on everything, Shi Ji wanted to say something more. But then, someone behind him suddenly bumped into him. Shi Ji turned around and looked back.
The usually short Jing Xin was now standing right behind them.
The other students instinctively felt a bit scared when they saw Jing Xin. But Shi Ji was different. Seeing her was just seeing her. It didn’t matter if he looked a few more times.
Jing Xin seemed accustomed to Shi Ji’s behavior and didn’t say anything.
