Chapter 84: Don’t Be Petty
by tinytreeShi Ji took off his jacket, dusting off the footprints left from the scuffle. He didn’t seek further trouble but simply turned and walked away. The boy he had kicked down earlier wasn’t seriously injured due to Shi Ji’s control over his strength.
Everyone saw what had happened. They just stood there dumbfounded, watching Shi Ji leave.
Ling Si was the first to react. Instead of ordering others to attack, she conjured an ice spear and hurled it at Shi Ji.
Without turning around, Shi Ji leaned slightly to the side, effortlessly dodging the attack.
He paused briefly, still with his back to Ling Si and the others.
“People these days… it’s pathetic. Spending money to support you lot is a waste. Do you think you’re here to feel superior? Running away when you face anomalies, always turning against your own kind. It’s pathetic. People like you dream of becoming heroes, but you’re not worthy. Today, I was in a bad mood, so I played along. If you pull this again, don’t blame me for not being so lenient. Especially you, the girl standing there that always acts so childish and petty.”
This time, Shi Ji left for real. No one tried to stop him.
Whether it was a newfound awareness or being shocked by Shi Ji’s words, everyone present looked utterly lost.
Ling Si clenched her fists, her face twisted with anger.
“Damn you, Shi Ji!”
She ignored everyone else and stormed off in a fury.
Ling Si was someone with a strong sense of pride, which was why the earlier events had unfolded. She took Shi Ji’s words as an insult.
As she left, she was already thinking of ways to deal with Shi Ji. Given the current situation, it seemed she would need to find someone else to confront Shi Ji.

Losing 20,000 yuan put Shi Ji in a foul mood. However, after encountering Ling Si and her group, he felt much better. Without wandering around any longer, he headed straight back to his dorm.
His credits were still at sixty. Reflecting on the recent events, Shi Ji devised a plan.
The easiest place to earn credits now was the arena. However, while he would be gaining credits, others would be losing them. Shi Ji wasn’t the type to bully others or take their credits indiscriminately. That wasn’t something he could bring himself to do.
But since there were people causing trouble for him, why not target those annoying individuals in the arena and grind their credits instead?
For now, he wouldn’t dwell on today’s events. But in the future, if anyone else caused trouble, he wouldn’t hesitate.

The first official day of school had many incidents between Class A and Class B, mainly because of Shi Ji. Yet, the entire academy remained unaware, calm, and peaceful. This surprised Shi Ji.
He learned from Xing Yuxiu that Class A represented the overall image of Yinxue Academy, being composed of cadets with rare star constitutions. Hence, their status couldn’t be easily shaken.
Within controllable limits, certain information was kept confidential and tightly sealed.
This approach seemed good for the academy’s image, but Shi Ji disagreed. While not absolute, from his perspective, most of Class A’s cadets weren’t fit to be heroes. They had a long way to go.
In Shi Ji’s eyes, Lin Xinyan stood out distinctly from the others. Her strength was a chasm apart from Ling Si and her group. Even if placed in Star Hero Academy, Lin Xinyan would be among the top-ranked. The others, however, would mostly be at the bottom.
As they were discussing this, someone called out to Shi Ji from the side.
“Shi Ji, Instructor Jing Xin is looking for you. She wants you to go to her office.”
