Chapter 96: Too Much Talk
by tinytreeThis area only had students from Class A, and once Shi Ji entered, the door was locked from the inside. Clearly, Class A didn’t want this incident to become too public. Whether they won or lost, ganging up on one person was already shameful enough, especially since they were from Class A.
Shi Ji didn’t react much. He didn’t take these people seriously at all.
He descended the steps and slowly entered the arena through a side passage.
There were only about twenty people in total. As Shi Ji entered, the other participating Class A students stepped in. In the stands, a few Class A students were watching, including Chi Yang, the boy Shi Ji had fought before.
Ling Si stood in front, smiling smugly.
Shi Ji found this girl truly disgusting. Bringing so many people here, what was there to be proud of?
Picking his ear nonchalantly, Shi Ji looked very impatient.
Ling Si took a few steps forward and said with a smile, “If you kneel and apologize to us Class A now, I might let you off today. Otherwise…”
“Hey, why so much nonsense? Is your mouth just for talking crap? If you apologize to me, you don’t need to kneel. I might consider letting those people behind you go. Otherwise, let’s get started. I don’t have time to waste.”
Shi Ji’s attitude varied depending on the person he was dealing with. For someone like Ling Si, he showed no courtesy.
Ling Si’s face turned dark with anger at Shi Ji’s rude insult. Her originally decent-looking face twisted with rage.
“Fine. Shi Ji, you’re arrogant! Soon, you’ll taste defeat!”
Shi Ji sneered, “Pfft! You call yourselves Class A elites? Bringing so many people here and feeling proud about it? Pathetic. Come on, I’ll give you a supplementary lesson for the weekend. Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of you, especially this shameless girl in front of me.”
This statement instantly enraged everyone present.
For Shi Ji, it didn’t matter anymore. He needed to correct these people’s basic understanding.
Before Ling Si could retort, angry shouts came from behind her.
“You brat! Keep being arrogant, I’ll crush you right now!”
“I’ll go first! Everyone else, step back!”
With that, the showdown between one person and a group began.
Ling Si wouldn’t let Shi Ji go, and Shi Ji wouldn’t spare these people either. After all, fighting these twenty-odd people could net him over a hundred academic credits.
Gaining over a hundred credits at once was enticing. Selling those extra credits would make him a fortune. Just thinking about it was thrilling.
Standing in the arena, Shi Ji faced his first opponent, a shorter boy armed with a sword, with the Chariot star hero constitution.
“You brat, today I’m going to beat you to a pulp. Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you too badly. There are others waiting to take their turn. My sword, the Long Rainbow Sword, is three and a half feet long.”
Shi Ji didn’t understand if this was a common practice. These people seemed to love giving lengthy speeches before the fight, introducing how formidable they were and the features of their weapons. In his view, maybe it was meant to intimidate the opponent psychologically before the fight. But…
Watching the guy ramble on, Shi Ji had had enough. The talk was too much. With twenty-odd people each giving a speech, how much time would that waste?
Unwilling to waste any more time, Shi Ji moved. In a flash, he darted forward and, with lightning speed, landed a punch squarely in the boy’s stomach.
