    “Of course, of course.”

Deng Yue looked down at the miserable-looking Zhou Li and forced a smile that was worse than crying.

“Please rest assured, sir. We’ll leave today’s matter at that. I guarantee there will be no further pursuit.”

“And you all?” Lin Xiao slightly turned his head, his gaze sweeping across the rich second-gens he had knocked down. “Do I still owe you an explanation?”

Everyone shook their heads in unison, like rattles on strings. They had already been scared stiff by Lin Xiao’s brutality. None of them dared utter a word, each wishing for the matter to end as quickly as possible.

“Very good. Looks like you’re all wise enough to know what’s best. I hope we won’t cross paths in the future. You take your wide roads, I’ll stick to my narrow bridge.” Lin Xiao’s tone was calm. “If you want revenge, no problem. I’ll take whatever comes, so long as you can afford the consequences.”

“Rest assured, Mr. Lin. Today’s incident was just a misunderstanding. And we were in the wrong to begin with. You did nothing wrong.”

Zhao Peng, a core figure in the circle, immediately stepped forward. “You’re Miss Li’s friend, not our enemy. I believe none of us will act against you in the future.” He looked around. “Everyone, don’t you agree?”

    “Young Master Zhao is right!”

“Sigh, I was the one with the foul mouth. I deserved that beating!”

“Mr. Lin, please be generous and forgive our offense…”

The others echoed Zhao Peng’s words one after another.

Li Yunxi pursed her lips, a cold sneer of disdain curling at the corners of her mouth. She clearly held these fair-weather types in contempt.

“In that case, I’ll be taking my leave.” Lin Xiao raised an eyebrow. With blood still streaked across his face, the motion exuded an indescribable chill. “Also, thanks for the meal. I ate very well today.”

Hearing this, Deng Yue felt like crying but could only squeeze out a smile.

Lin Xiao left as he pleased, cleanly and decisively.

Li Yunxi followed him out. After walking a few steps, she suddenly turned back and said, “Today’s matter is not to be spread. If I hear anything… don’t blame this lady for being impolite.”

With that, she gave a cold snort and quickly caught up to Lin Xiao, walking side by side out of the hall.

Watching Lin Xiao and Li Yunxi leave, everyone inside the hall finally let out a breath of relief. It felt like they’d survived a disaster.

The pressure Lin Xiao had brought was simply overwhelming.

“Young Master Deng, about today…” Zhao Peng sighed heavily but didn’t finish his sentence—because anything more would be meaningless. “You’re probably going to be very busy. I won’t bother you anymore. Goodbye.”

He shook his head and left with several other second-gens.

After Zhao Peng, Xu Fei, Li Tian, and the others also said their goodbyes to Deng Yue and left one after another. Soon, the grand hall was empty.

“Brother, what should we do?” Deng Yi clutched Deng Yue’s arm and shook it desperately.

Deng Yue’s face was dark, his brows furrowed tight. He bent down and lifted the unconscious Zhou Li.

“What else? Of course, we send Brother Zhou to the hospital first. We’ll deal with the rest later.”

At that moment, Zhou Li groaned and slowly came to.

Though awake, his mind was still a mess, and his head felt like it was splitting open.

In a weak voice, he said, “What… what happened to me…”

“Brother Zhou, you’re awake?” Deng Yue lit up. “You passed out during the fight with that guy. I was just about to take you to the hospital.”

Zhou Li shook his head, finally recalling what had happened. His face twisted with rage, and his swollen eyes gleamed with venom. “That piece of trash… he dared to injure me… I’m going to kill him…”

Consumed by fury, his blood surged upward—only to trigger a sharp pain in his skull. He groaned, his eyes rolled back, and he passed out again.

    “Hey, Brother Zhou? Brother Zhou…”

    Outside the hall.

“Lin Xiao, are you okay?” Li Yunxi asked in a low voice, her eyes sweeping over his face and chest.

Though Lin Xiao had no injuries from the fight, his clothes hadn’t been so lucky. They were torn to shreds by the force of the clash.

Fortunately, the fabric was decent enough to barely hold together, or he might’ve had to walk out in rags.

“It’s nothing. Just damaged clothes. I’ll just change.” Lin Xiao looked down at the torn outfit and spoke calmly.

“That’s easy; leave it to me.”

Li Yunxi snapped her fingers, and a beautiful female attendant appeared from seemingly nowhere. She placed her hands together in front of her and gave the two of them a deep bow.

It was the same attendant who had brought them into the hall at the beginning.

“Take us inside. Find a quiet room,” Li Yunxi instructed. “Also, keep an eye on everyone in there. I want reports on their every move.”

    “Yes, Boss.”

Under the attendant’s guidance, Lin Xiao and Li Yunxi entered the interior of the club and arrived at a private, secluded suite.

Li Yunxi helped Lin Xiao sit on a chair, then turned to the attendant. “Have someone go buy a set of men’s clothes. Fast. Don’t keep us waiting.”

    “Understood.”

The attendant glanced at Lin Xiao, estimating his height and build, then bowed and left the room.

“Are you really okay? No internal injuries or anything?”

Once the attendant was gone, Li Yunxi asked with visible concern. She didn’t understand ancient martial arts, but recalling the chaos in the hall, she feared Lin Xiao might’ve taken some hidden injuries and was just toughing it out.

“Don’t worry. I’m fine,” Lin Xiao reassured her again.

Then he added, “By the way… I’m sorry about what happened today.”

    “What are you sorry for?”

Li Yunxi straightened up and sat down beside him. She carefully lifted the front of his shirt. “Let me help you take this off. It’s beyond saving.”

She reached out with her delicate hand and began unbuttoning his shirt.

Her movements were gentle and focused—entirely unlike her usual brash self.

Lin Xiao didn’t fuss and let her undress him, speaking in a low voice. “Isn’t this private club your property? That fight with Zhou Li turned the hall into a wreck. I imagine repairs won’t be cheap.”

“Oh, that’s what you meant. Don’t worry about it. It’s not coming out of my pocket anyway.” Li Yunxi didn’t even lift her head. “This whole event was organized by Deng Yue. Any damages are his to pay for.”

Lin Xiao nodded. “In that case, I won’t worry.”

Just then, a knock sounded at the door.

“Boss, we’ve brought the items you requested. May we come in?”

“Come in,” Li Yunxi said lightly.
