Chapter 107: The Third Time Hearing About the Hundred Seat Hall
by tinytreeThe leader was taken aback upon discovering someone else was present. Attacking a police officer was a capital crime, punishable by death. That was why they specifically chose to ambush Su Mengjia late at night in such an isolated place.
However, when he looked in the direction the voice came from and saw a young man, dressed ordinarily, appearing like a typical worker who had just finished his shift, his initial surprise faded, and his expression completely relaxed.
“I didn’t expect anyone else to be here. You’re out of luck,” he said, waving his hand and instructing one of his subordinates, “Heigui, deal with this unlucky guy first. It’s his bad luck that he ran into us.”
“Yes, Boss.”
Heigui was a burly man with large, bulging muscles. He approached Lin Xiao, his face showing a trace of brutality, and his eyes full of scorn.
“You’re unlucky today, kid. Remember this, in your next life, be born blind, so you won’t see things you shouldn’t.”
Heigui suddenly launched his right fist, like a cannonball, smashing hard toward Lin Xiao. His punch was fast and potent. An ordinary person would neither be able to dodge nor withstand it. Heigui had beaten people to death this way before.
Su Mengjia silently sighed on the side. Her concern was not that Lin Xiao couldn’t handle Heigui. If Lin Xiao was a member of the Dragon Sword team, Heigui wouldn’t stand a chance.
What troubled her was that Lin Xiao had ignored her advice to leave and call the police. After all, it wasn’t just Heigui there, but seven others, all armed, some even with firearms.
Two fists can’t beat eight armed men. Lin Xiao could hardly be a match for all of them.
The leader seemed unconcerned, seeing Heigui’s handling of this unfortunate fellow as a minor distraction, not something that would affect their plans. However, in the next moment, his face underwent a radical change.
Lin Xiao, who had been standing still, suddenly thrust out his left hand, blocking Heigui’s incoming fist.
Heigui was momentarily stunned, never expecting Lin Xiao to move so quick. But he quickly sneered, “You’re truly overestimating your abilities.”
With confidence in his strength, he believed that even if this unfortunate fool managed to block his fist, it would prove futile. Yet in the next instant, his eyes widened in disbelief as he felt his fist hit something as solid as stone, held fast in Lin Xiao’s palm.
“Boss, this guy’s no pushover. Let’s all jump him,” Heigui said, reacting quickly. His words left the leader momentarily taken aback.
The seasoned quickly caught on. Heigui wouldn’t be joking at a time like this.
“All of you, get your weapons out!” he barked.
Without hesitation, several of the leader’s men drew their machetes and rushed Lin Xiao.
The blades swung ferociously at Lin Xiao. After all, what good was knowing martial arts against a lethal flurry of slashes?
Meanwhile, Su Mengjia’s face revealed her concern. Though the Dragon Sword Squad was the stuff of legends, Lin Xiao was probably just an ordinary member. This was reality, not a world of martial arts fantasy. How could a human body withstand the sharp edge of a machete?
“You think you can fight back, you unfortunate fool? You really don’t know your place. You could have suffered less, but you just had to make things hard for yourself.”
Heigui’s voice dripped with scorn, but it quickly cut off. His eyes widened, almost bulging out of their sockets.
Harsh cracking sounds resonated as two machetes landed squarely on Lin Xiao’s shoulders. However, the moment the blades made contact, it felt as if they had struck steel. Sparks flew, and both machetes broke in half.
“What… What is this?”
The onlookers were utterly stunned. Was this a monster? Normally, a machete could take half a life with one slash, but now, the blades were broken.
Lin Xiao coldly regarded the bewildered Heigui and his companions. With his mastery of internal energy at its peak, he could distribute his force throughout his body, making him impervious to even bullets, let alone machetes.
With a concentrated movement, he gripped Heigui’s left hand and squeezed mercilessly.
A sharp sound of bones cracking echoed. Heigui let out a heart-wrenching scream, “Ah! The pain!”
Lin Xiao released his grip on Heigui’s hand, revealing the utterly crushed bones within. Heigui’s face was contorted with agony, and he collapsed to the ground, wailing in misery.
“It’s your turn now,” Lin Xiao coldly said, his gaze fixed on the two men who had swung their blades at him.
The look in Lin Xiao’s eyes made the two men, still holding their broken machetes, tremble in terror. They nearly collapsed.
This was no ordinary man. He had broken machetes with his body, and the state of Heigui’s crushed fist was evidence of his power. That hand was probably ruined forever.
The leader could no longer contain his fear. He had severely underestimated Lin Xiao. This wasn’t just a man; he was something else entirely, far beyond what he could handle.
He instinctively reached for the holster at his waist but then hesitated and pulled back. This individual seemed incredibly challenging to defeat, and if he missed, there would be no chance for redemption.
The leader managed to squeeze out a smile, saying, “Brother, everything that happened just now was a misunderstanding, nothing more. You know, no acquaintance without a fight, right? We are members of the Hundred Seat Society. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of us, but if you pretend that today’s incident never happened, we will surely reward you handsomely in the future.”
“Hundred Seat Society?” Lin Xiao repeated, recognizing the familiar name for the third time as he glanced at Su Mengjia for a short moment.
The first instance was when Su Mengjia, the disheveled policewoman before him, mistakenly believed he was a member of the Hundred Seat Society.
The second time was at the Starlight City Bar, where he killed Song Tianxing’s hired gang leader Wang Lin. During that incident, he also encountered a dark-skinned martial artist who claimed to be part of the Hundred Seat Society.
Now, this was the third time.
“Brother, are you familiar with our Hundred Seat Society?” asked the leading man, his eyes lighting up as he saw Lin Xiao deep in thought.
“Brother? Who’s your brother? You’re not worthy of that title,” Lin Xiao replied, sneering coldly.
Then, without giving the leader another glance, he moved swiftly, too fast for the two men who had attacked him to react. They attempted to flee, but it was already too late.
With two thunderous bangs, they were sent flying several meters away, the sound of their chest bones breaking audible in the ensuing silence. Their painful screams filled the air.
