Huang Xinyu immediately spotted Lin Xiao sitting on the bench. A bright smile blossomed on her beautiful jade-like face as she jogged over to him.

Just as she was about to greet him, her smile suddenly froze.

“Lin Xiao, what’s wrong? Don’t scare me!” Huang Xinyu threw herself beside him, grabbing his body and shaking him vigorously.

Lin Xiao’s face was pale, his spirit somewhat drained, and there were faint scratch marks on the back of his hand. Though the wounds weren’t deep, combined with his overall state, they frightened Huang Xinyu quite a bit.

Lin Xiao slowly opened his eyes and gave a calm smile. “Auntie Xinyu, I’m fine.”

Seeing that Lin Xiao hadn’t lost consciousness and could still speak, Huang Xinyu breathed a sigh of relief. One hand supported his shoulder while the other lightly patted her chest, her lingering fear evident. “I really thought something had happened to you. It’s good you’re okay. It’s really good.”

But as soon as she spoke, she realized something was off. Lin Xiao clearly didn’t look fine at all.

She grabbed his wrist, her tone sharp. “How can you say you’re fine? Look at you! Pale, drained, and with scratches on your hand! How can that be nothing?”

Huang Xinyu’s palm was soft, but despite her firm grip, Lin Xiao didn’t feel any pain.

“Auntie Xinyu, really, I’m fine. Just didn’t sleep well, that’s all. As for the scratches, they’re just superficial. The bleeding has already stopped,” Lin Xiao explained helplessly.

He wasn’t lying. In the half-hour before she arrived, his strength had gradually returned.

After all, he hadn’t sustained any serious injuries. He had simply exhausted himself while secretly practicing Eagle Claw techniques. A bit of rest was enough to recover.

As for the scratches on his hand, they were barely even skin-deep.

Suppressing her worry, Huang Xinyu held Lin Xiao’s hands and examined them carefully. Once she confirmed his words were true, she finally relaxed completely.

“Lin Xiao, how did you get hurt? Did you get into another fight?” Huang Xinyu sat up straight, her beautiful eyes locking onto his, her tone serious.

Lin Xiao remained silent but nodded in acknowledgment.

“What am I going to do with you? Why can’t you take better care of yourself?” Huang Xinyu extended her slender finger and tapped his forehead. “If something happens to you, what will those two girls do?”

“There are some problems that can only be solved through force,” Lin Xiao said quietly after a brief pause.

“Forget it. I don’t understand your world. Let’s just go to the hospital and get your wounds treated.” Huang Xinyu wrapped an arm around Lin Xiao’s waist, pulling one of his arms over her shoulder as she tried to help him up from the bench.

Her cheeks flushed slightly as her mind flashed back to the scene at the Jinghai mall, when Lin Xiao had carried her on his back, running toward the hospital after the encounter with the robbers.

“Auntie Xinyu, I can walk by myself.” Lin Xiao glanced down at her, then quickly looked away.

“Can you really manage on your own?” she asked doubtfully.

    “No problem.”

Seeing how certain he sounded, Huang Xinyu finally released her hold, though she still supported one of his arms as they walked toward the Bentley.

After they got into the car, Huang Xinyu buckled Lin Xiao’s seatbelt before starting the engine and driving off into the distance.

“Lin Xiao, does your hand hurt?” she asked worriedly while steering.

“It’s nothing, just a scratch,” Lin Xiao replied casually, then diverted the conversation. “Auntie Xinyu, what brings you to Linjin City?”

“Business, of course.” Huang Xinyu sighed, her delicate brows lifting slightly. “Do you remember that guy we met a few days ago, Fang Tianping?”

“Yes, I remember.” A cold glint flashed in Lin Xiao’s eyes. “Did he do something?”

Huang Xinyu smirked. “It’s not about what he did. It’s about what I’m going to do. I came to Linjin City to buy out his company and kick him out!”

For someone as elegant and composed as Huang Xinyu to use such harsh words like “kick him out” clearly showed how much she despised Fang Tianping.

“I thought Fang Tianping’s hotel was in Jinghai.”

Huang Xinyu chuckled. “You really are an outsider in the business world. Who said a hotel owner can only have one hotel? Fang Tianping runs a hotel management company, overseeing several hotels under its umbrella.”

Lin Xiao indeed knew little about such matters. He had only intended to change the subject, and now that he’d succeeded, he simply followed her lead. “If he’s the boss, how can you buy his company if he doesn’t want to sell?”

“He’s the boss, yes, but not the majority shareholder. As long as I control more shares than he does, the company listens to me, not him.”

After offering this brief explanation, Huang Xinyu glanced sideways at Lin Xiao. “Lin Xiao, if you’re interested, why not come and help me?”

“I’m clueless about running a company. Better not.” Lin Xiao shook his head.

“Now that you know why I’m here, isn’t it fair for you to tell me why you came to Linjin City?” she asked again.

Lin Xiao had already anticipated this question. He answered calmly, “To settle an old grudge. If all goes well, I shouldn’t need to come here again.”

“That’s as good as saying nothing.” Huang Xinyu pouted, a gesture strikingly similar to Huang Caixing’s, even down to the expression on her face.

Neither spoke further. Huang Xinyu focused on driving the Bentley, heading to the nearest private hospital. With the power of money, the hospital operated with remarkable efficiency, and within an hour, Lin Xiao’s wounds were fully treated.

“Alright, let’s head back to the hotel for dinner.” Once they exited the hospital, Huang Xinyu cheerfully hooked her arm around Lin Xiao’s, her face beaming with joy.

    ***

Top Floor of Aerospace Hotel, General Manager’s Office.

Fang Tianping lounged in a spacious executive chair, one leg crossed over the other, a cigar between his lips as he squinted in satisfaction under the massage of a beautiful secretary.

Seated on the sofa before him were three men.

One had a hideous face and a fierce demeanor, his eyes constantly roaming over the secretary behind Fang Tianping, gleaming with lecherous intent.

Another man, pale-faced with a gloomy expression, exuded an aura of cold malice. His narrow eyes were slightly narrowed, as though plotting something sinister.

The third man was rotund, with a bald head and a face full of fat, so bloated that his eyes were nearly invisible.

“I heard Huang Xinyu checked into our hotel?”

Fang Tianping exhaled a thick puff of smoke toward the secretary behind him, causing her to cough repeatedly. “That bitch actually dares to come to my hotel?”
