Chapter 426: The Birth of a Pig Head
by tinytree“How is this possible?”
Fu Chengguang never imagined that Lin Xiao would intercept his sure-hit shot—and in such a direct and brutal manner.
In Fu Chengguang’s pupils, Lin Xiao’s figure soared high into the air like a shooting star. It was as if he had just witnessed something terrifying. His breath nearly stopped, and his heart plummeted.
Swish!
Lin Xiao streaked past Fu Chengguang, never once sparing him a glance, as if he were nothing more than air.
Fu Chengguang ran after him for a few steps, trying to take back the ball, but Lin Xiao’s speed was far too fast. In the blink of an eye, he left Fu Chengguang behind.
Watching Lin Xiao’s retreating figure grow smaller, an overwhelming sense of powerlessness welled up in Fu Chengguang’s heart.
At that moment, his self-confidence took a devastating blow.
The two students beside Fu Chengguang gritted their teeth and chased after Lin Xiao, but how could their speed possibly compare?
Within just a few breaths, Lin Xiao had charged under the basket, bent his knees, leaped into the air, and slammed the ball into the hoop.
Another fierce and powerful dunk. The entire basketball hoop shook violently, clanging noisily under the impact— proof of Lin Xiao’s strength.
Grabbing the rim with both hands, Lin Xiao used it to absorb his forward momentum and then dropped lightly to the ground.
“Wow!”
“Amazing!”
“Incredible!”
Another round of gasps and cheers erupted from the edge of the court. Aside from Fu Chengguang’s diehard followers and cronies, every student watching had been completely awed by Lin Xiao’s dominance.
The girls who had been cheering for Fu Chengguang and his gang of lackeys now stood like mute chickens with their throats clutched. The atmosphere dropped to freezing point.
By now, anyone with eyes could see that Fu Chengguang had completely lost the match against Lin Xiao—even five against one, he was still utterly crushed.
Lin Xiao raised his left hand, catching the basketball that had dropped from the hoop. Tilting his head, he glanced at Fu Chengguang and the others who had been chasing after him.
“How about it? Still want to keep playing?”
Fu Chengguang couldn’t accept the fact that he was no match for Lin Xiao. His eyes were bloodshot, and he gasped heavily.
“So what if you scored two points? The game is far from over. Later, I’ll make sure you cry until you can’t anymore!”
“Is that so?”
A faint smile curved Lin Xiao’s lips. He casually tossed the basketball back to Fu Chengguang.
“Before the game started, you said you wouldn’t let me score even one point. If I did, you’d lose. And now, I’ve scored two, while you haven’t even touched the rim. Tell me, does your face hurt yet?”
As soon as Lin Xiao finished speaking, Fu Chengguang felt his face burning as if someone had just slapped him. Especially under the strange looks cast by the surrounding students. He wished he could dig a hole and crawl into it.
A slap in the face.
A barefaced slap in the face.
But who told him to talk so big earlier? It was as if he had willingly shoved his face in front of Lin Xiao, begging to be hit.
“Don’t get too full of yourself!” Fu Chengguang’s face turned red as he roared, “Piss me off again, and I’ll make sure you won’t walk away from this.”
“I thought you were something, but you’re just sore loser trash. Besides spouting tough talk, is there anything else you’re good at?”
Lin Xiao’s tone was calm, a stark contrast to the enraged Fu Chengguang. “Now, I’ll return your words. If you can score even once, I’ll consider it your win.”
As soon as Lin Xiao said that, murmurs spread through the crowd.
“That’s such a badass thing to say!”
“I didn’t think much of him before, but now I suddenly find him kind of cool.”
“Who cares about looks? Real strength and skill are what count.”
“Exactly. Looks like Young Master Fu ran into steel this time.”
Unconsciously, the tide of public opinion had shifted. Most of the students were now on Lin Xiao’s side.
Fu Chengguang’s chest rose and fell violently. His lungs were about to explode. His vision reddened. Then—snap—it was as if something snapped inside his head. He lost all reason. Rage surged from his heart; violence followed at his side.
“Kill him!”
Fu Chengguang suddenly roared and viciously hurled the basketball at Lin Xiao, then charged forward and launched a kick at Lin Xiao’s chest.
“A sore loser’s dying struggle? How laughable.”
A cold light flickered in Lin Xiao’s eyes. He shifted his body slightly, dodging Fu Chengguang’s kick, then raised his left hand and slapped him across the face.
The slap landed with heavy force. Fu Chengguang let out a miserable scream as the right side of his face visibly swelled up in an instant.
“Ah… my face…”
Clutching his right cheek, he wailed in agony. Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead.
The sudden turn of events stunned everyone present.
“Young Master Fu, are you alright?” One of the students near Fu Chengguang was the first to react. He rushed over, flustered and helpless.
Fu Chengguang glared at Lin Xiao with venom in his eyes. His now pig-like face twisted with pain, and he gritted out through clenched teeth, “Beat… beat that bastard to death!”
Upon hearing this, the student hesitated.
Though he was one of Fu Chengguang’s lackeys at school and had benefited from him in the past, being ordered to fight Lin Xiao felt like asking to die.
Just one slap had turned Fu Chengguang’s face into a pig’s head. That alone was enough to tell him he was no match for Lin Xiao. The same held true for the other three students. They had no desire to end up with swollen faces themselves.
So even though they glared at Lin Xiao, they didn’t budge. They didn’t even dare speak up.
“Young Master Fu got hit?”
“Quick, someone call a teacher. He’s been assaulted!”
Some of Fu Chengguang’s cronies and fangirls panicked at the sight. While they didn’t dare confront Lin Xiao themselves, they prepared to go find a teacher.
“Stop right there!”
With a crisp shout, Huang Caixing stepped out from the crowd, blocking those girls.
Her face was frosty, lips curled in a cold smile, arms folded across her chest, which pushed her chest out, stretching her sportswear into an alluring curve.
“H-Huang Caixing, w-what are you doing?” one girl stammered, her face pale with fear, summoning the courage to ask.
“Whoever dares to go find a teacher is going against me.” A cold gleam flashed in Huang Caixing’s bright eyes as she swept her gaze across the girls’ faces. “Without my permission, none of you are allowed to leave. If you do, don’t expect to show your face at school again.”
As the little demon queen of Guanglai High, Huang Caixing’s words carried serious weight.
These girls weren’t fools. They clearly understood the threat in her voice and glanced at each other, frozen in place.
“Hmph. At least you’re not completely hopeless.” Huang Caixing snorted, “Stay put. You can leave when I say so.”
She ignored them from that point on and turned to walk toward Lin Xiao.
Yuan Yu was already by Lin Xiao’s side, asking softly, “Big Brother Lin, are you alright?”
