    Chapter Index

After speaking, the tall man swaggered over to stand in front of Lin Xiao. He clasped his hands before his chest, and his knuckles cracked with a sharp crack.

“Kid, I’ll give you a chance. Fight me one-on-one. If you die, you die without complaint. How about it?”

In his view, Night Owl might have been strong at assassination, but most of that relied on sniping. In a head-on fight, Night Owl was no match for him.

Even though Lin Xiao had killed Night Owl, he still didn’t believe Lin Xiao was that formidable.

“If I were you, I wouldn’t do this.”

Even though a dozen guns were pointed at him, there was not the slightest trace of panic on Lin Xiao’s face.

“You can all come at me. That way, I can save some effort.”

“To be so arrogant even in the face of death… You’re the first kind of guy I’ve met like this.”

The tall man slammed his fists together in front of his chest, producing the sound of metal clashing. His muscular arms bulged, veins writhing like earthworms. A dangerous aura surged from within his body.

“Don’t think I’m like that useless Night Owl you killed. To deal with you, I alone am enough.”

“Fine. Since you insist, I’ll grant your wish.”

Lin Xiao inserted his gun back into his waistband, casually adjusted his stance, not too high, not too low. His posture held no threatening aura. He looked just like an ordinary person.

    “Please.”

The tall man took a deep breath, pounded his fists against his chest, let out a beast-like low roar, and his body suddenly expanded. His height increased by several inches, his frame growing even more muscular. His bowl-sized fists turned a bluish-black, giving off the sheen of steel.

This tall man was a Dark Force stage expert. Judging from appearances, he had only recently broken through, but he still counted as a skilled fighter. No wonder he dared to challenge Lin Xiao alone.

A gleam flashed in the tall man’s eyes. In a single stride, he was upon Lin Xiao, slamming a punch straight at his chest.

This punch carried tremendous force; the air around it howled with wind. It was no ordinary strike.

Lin Xiao stood motionless, neither dodging nor flinching, as if frozen in fear, allowing the punch to strike his chest directly.

With a loud crash, the man’s fist landed squarely on Lin Xiao’s chest.

A trace of glee flashed across his face. He surged his inner energy into his fist with a low growl, intending to blast Lin Xiao away with the massive force.

The next moment, that glee froze on his face.

He suddenly opened his mouth, sucking in a breath of cold air. A piercing pain shot through his fist. It didn’t feel like punching human flesh, but like smashing into a wall of steel.

All the internal energy he had poured out through his fist vanished like a rock sinking into the sea—no effect whatsoever.

“The arrogant one isn’t me, it’s you,” Lin Xiao said blandly, his left hand slowly curling into a fist. “Where did you get the courage to challenge me one-on-one?”

As the words fell, Lin Xiao struck with a punch.

This punch was utterly plain, no flair, no fancy technique—only a terrifying, indescribable force contained within. The fist pierced the air with a deep, thunderous rumble.

    Thunderbolt Fist!

Outside the crowd, the previously indifferent Purple Fox’s ears twitched. A flicker of shock appeared in her eyes for the first time.

    “Not good!”

The tall man cried out. Every hair on his body stood on end, scalp tingling, heart pounding. He felt a tremendous sense of mortal danger!

He absolutely could not let himself get hit—otherwise, certain death.

But Lin Xiao’s speed was monstrous. Just as the thought of dodging surfaced in the man’s mind, Lin Xiao’s fist had already landed on his chest.

It was like he had been hit by a speeding car. His body flew out sideways, crashing into several Purifier members, sending them sprawling, before slamming hard into a wall.

His chest had completely caved inward. A deep fist-shaped indentation lay in the center. His internal organs were turned to pulp. Blood gushed from his mouth, ears, nose, and eyes. He didn’t even have time to groan before he died instantly.

“Hitting someone like hanging a painting, what a terrifying punch!”

Behind the crowd, Purple Fox saw this and unconsciously clenched her jade-white hand. Her nails almost pierced her skin. Behind her mask, her expression turned extremely grim.

The other Purifier members weren’t fools. Seeing the tall man killed with a single punch—and in such a gruesome way—they immediately realized that none of them could match Lin Xiao in single combat.

In unison, they raised their guns and pulled the trigger.

Gunfire erupted like a storm. Countless bullets swarmed toward Lin Xiao like a plague of locusts.

Lin Xiao stomped the ground and shot out like a phantom. In a blur, he moved beyond the bullet barrage and ducked behind a sofa. Drawing his pistol from his waist, he raised his hand and fired two shots.

Seven or eight meters away, two Purifier members fell backward, a bullet hole in each forehead. Blood exploded from the backs of their heads—instant kill by headshot.

“He’s behind the sofa! Aim before you shoot!” Black Wolf roared.

He pulled out a submachine gun from who knows where and riddled the sofa with bullets, reducing it to tatters.

These Purifier members were all ruthless and cold-blooded killers. Each had taken multiple lives and had steely nerves. Even knowing Lin Xiao’s power, none of them showed panic.

As Lin Xiao exchanged fire with them, Purple Fox stood in the distance, arms folded, watching silently. She didn’t aid either side, her intent unclear.

Lin Xiao kicked the sofa out, using it to draw fire while his body blurred. In a flash, he crossed seven or eight meters and charged into the enemy group.

Another Purifier member, wearing a leopard mask, shouted, “Scatter! Don’t let him get close!”

But before he could finish, Lin Xiao appeared before him. With fingers curled like claws, he reached out like lightning, seizing the man’s throat and crushing it with a twist.

The Purifier’s neck snapped like a twig. His head flopped lifelessly, limbs twitching, the light in his eyes fading.

As Lin Xiao killed him, two more Purifiers lunged silently from the sides, daggers aimed at his waist.

Without turning, Lin Xiao swung a backward palm—Bang!—and sent one attacker flying. His other hand morphed into a talon, seizing the second’s wrist, snatching the dagger, and thrusting it straight into the man’s heart.

In the blink of an eye, three Purifier members lay dead, killed as easily as cutting grass.

Such ruthless and efficient killing made even these veteran murderers’ eyelids twitch. Deep fear stirred in their hearts.

“Lady Purple Fox, this guy is hard to deal with; we need your help!” a Purifier member shouted while firing at Lin Xiao.
