Chapter 132: Just Wait and See How You’ll Regret This
by tinytreeThe salesperson had just closed a big sale and couldn’t contain her smile. She became even more attentive toward Lin Xiao. “Sir, would you like to try it on?”
Lin Xiao shook his head. “No need, just hand it over.”
As the salesperson was handing the clothes to Lin Xiao, Wan Caixuan suddenly chimed in, “Lin Xiao, you should really try it on. If it doesn’t fit properly, we can have it adjusted here and now. It’d be a hassle to come back later.”
Given that this was a high-end menswear store, they had dedicated tailors on-site for any necessary adjustments. Of course, the clothes would have to be brought back to the store for such alterations.
Lin Xiao considered her point and nodded. “Alright, I’ll try it on then.”
He then took the black suit and entered the dressing room.
When Lin Xiao walked from the dressing room, everyone in the store was left speechless. A series of subdued gasps and sharp intakes of breath filled the air.
“Is that even the same guy from earlier?”
“He just changed into a different outfit, and he looks like a completely new person.”
“The transformation is all thanks to those high-quality clothes.”
Seeing Lin Xiao’s dramatic change, the men who had initially looked down on him were now filled with a blend of envy and jealousy.
The sleek, dark suit perfectly accentuated Lin Xiao’s robust, well-balanced physique. With broad shoulders, long legs, a slender waist, and a muscular back, coupled with Lin Xiao’s calm and aloof demeanor and his deep, penetrating gaze, he exuded an entirely new level of charisma.
“So handsome!”
“Why didn’t I realize how good-looking he is before?”
Lin Xiao captivated all the women in the store. The female sales staff, in particular, were practically starstruck, their arms crossed over their chests as they gazed dreamily at Lin Xiao.
They had never anticipated that Lin Xiao could look so stunning in a suit.
Amazement flickered in Wan Caixuan’s eyes as she circled around Lin Xiao, nodding with approval, “Impressive, this suit fits you perfectly.”
Standing together, Lin Xiao, in his new suit, and Wan Caixuan looked like a match made in heaven. Not even Wan Caixuan’s breathtaking beauty could outshine Lin Xiao’s newfound charm.
Although others might find Lin Xiao irresistibly handsome in his suit, he himself felt rather uneasy. He was more accustomed to blending into the shadows rather than becoming the center of attention.
Feeling a bit awkward, Lin Xiao made a motion to remove the suit, but Wan Caixuan quickly stopped him.
“Don’t take it off. You’re going to wear this suit while accompanying me shopping,” Wan Caixuan commanded, her tone icy, asserting her authority as the CEO.
“Why?” Lin Xiao furrowed his brow, “The suit is too eye-catching and doesn’t fit my role as your bodyguard. If an emergency arises, it could restrict my movements and hinder my ability to protect you.”
“No need for explanations. I want you to wear it because I like it,” Wan Caixuan shot him a sidelong glance. “I’m your employer, shouldn’t you comply?”
Wan Caixuan wouldn’t directly tell Lin Xiao that she simply didn’t want others to view him as a mere follower. Lin Xiao might not care, but she did.
“Fine, as you wish,” Lin Xiao conceded with a shrug. Since Wan Caixuan had spoken, he had no choice but to agree.
Wan Caixuan’s face broke into a gratified smile, radiant enough to mesmerize any man, “Let’s keep shopping, I still have some bags I want to buy.”

Meanwhile, at the entrance of the Longhua Shopping Mall, a Lamborghini approached from a distance, passing a parked Rolls-Royce. Unexpectedly, the car decelerated and halted dozens of meters ahead.
The car door swung open, and a tall, dashing young man stepped out.
The young man, clad in white casual wear and white sneakers, was a vision in white. He exuded a regal charm as if a scholar against the wind, effortlessly cool and undeniably handsome.
As he stood next to the Lamborghini, an undeniable aura of wealth, power, and good looks radiated from him, drawing the admiring glances and flirtatious looks of passing women.
However, he remained wholly indifferent to these. His expression was so bleak it looked as though he could weep rain, his gaze fixed intently on a brand-new limited edition Rolls-Royce not far off.
This young man was none other than Le Fangyun, who had tasted defeat against Lin Xiao in a recent car race on Panlong Mountain.
It was that very Rolls-Royce, driven by Lin Xiao, that had handed Le Fangyun his most agonizing loss to date. The defeat led to a precipitous decline in his standing and reputation among the wealthy elite, leaving him unable to hold his head high.
For Le Fangyun, Lin Xiao was the source of his humiliation and someone he’d never forget, even in death.
Fueled by bitterness, Le Fangyun had been searching for Lin Xiao for days, but to no avail. It was as if Lin Xiao had vanished off the face of the Earth.
Just when Le Fangyun was about to abandon his search, fate led him to a coincidental roadside sighting.
‘Searching high and low only to find it effortlessly,’ Le Fangyun thought.
His heart burned with resentment but also brimmed with anticipation for the revenge he was about to exact.
Suppressing the urge to demolish the Rolls-Royce, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number: “Chen Xiao, gather your crew and head to Longhua Mall in the city center. I’ve found him.”
“Is the guy you’re talking about the same one who humiliated you on Panlong Mountain?” A raspy male voice inquired from the other end of the line.
Stung by the reminder, Le Fangyun’s expression darkened further. “Enough talk. Get here now,” he snapped.
“Alright, young master Le. How many should I bring?”
“As many as you can muster,” Le Fangyun responded with a sinister smile. “I plan to make him disappear from Jinghai City, permanently.”
And when Le Fangyun said he would make Lin Xiao vanish, it was no mere bravado. He had the means to make it happen.
As one of the most privileged second-generation elites in Jinghai City, Le Fangyun possessed not only substantial wealth but also influential connections. The recently appointed mayor of Jinghai City happened to be his distant relative, making him an even more attractive target for those seeking to curry favor.
However, he had no intention of easily exploiting this newfound leverage. Even so, making someone’s life miserable in Jinghai City wouldn’t be a challenge for him.
Chen Xiao, whom he had just spoken with over the phone, was one such individual eager to curry favor. Far from a legitimate businessman, Chen Xiao operated in morally ambiguous territories. Most wary of retribution from influential figures, he had been in constant search of a powerful ally to latch onto.
Aware of Le Fangyun’s relationship with the new mayor, Chen Xiao had committed several unscrupulous acts to fortify his association with him.
Le Fangyun ended the call and returned to his car, unable to regain his composure as his expression shifted continuously.
Approximately ten minutes later, a van pulled up at the entrance of Longhua Mall, parking beside Le Fangyun’s Lamborghini.
A lean young man, dressed in a tight T-shirt and emanating a menacing aura, promptly hopped out of the van.
He knocked on the car window and announced, “Young Master Le, we’ve arrived.”
Le Fangyun didn’t fully lower the window, but opened a small gap, asking, “Chen Xiao, how many have you brought?”
“Rest assured, Young Master Le. As soon as I got your orders, I gathered over a dozen men. We’ll make sure to teach that guy a lesson,” Chen Xiao replied, flashing a sinister grin while thumping his chest.
“That’s reassuring. As long as you execute this well, you’ll be adequately rewarded,” Le Fangyun remarked, offering a cold smile.
“Stay in the van for now. When the target appears, swarm him, subdue him, and then bring him to that secluded spot we frequently visit. I’ll be following you,” instructed Le Fangyun.
“Understood, Young Master Le,” Chen Xiao nodded, reassuringly.
“Good.”
Le Fangyun’s eyes narrowed as he focused on the entrance of Longhua Mall. “Punk, let’s see how you manage to escape this time.”
