Chapter 183: Goblin
by tinytreeAlthough somewhat speechless, having known Ning Xi for so long, Lin Xiao had learned to use the enemy’s weapon against them.
He said, “Go ahead and call out, Ning Xi. I have nothing to hide and am not afraid of idle gossip. But as for your reputation, Ning Xi…”
“Hmph, what about my reputation? If you don’t care, neither do I,” Ning Xi replied, her eyes shimmering with a seductive light, her voice becoming sweet and enticing. “Lin Xiao, how does it feel? The touch of my body is wonderful, isn’t it?”
At this moment, her entire body was pressed tightly against Lin Xiao, her softness exuding an indescribable allure.
Even with Lin Xiao’s strong will, he couldn’t help but be moved, his body reacting accordingly.
This temptress!
Lin Xiao felt a bit awkward, his hands around Ning Xi’s waist tightening slightly, trying to move her away, but Ning Xi wrapped her arms around him even tighter.
Ning Xi, noticing the change in Lin Xiao’s body, blushed even more, giggling softly, and gently rubbed herself against him.
She leaned in close to Lin Xiao’s ear, whispering the last few words, “If you tell me the truth, I’ll let you…”
Hearing those words from Ning Xi’s mouth made Lin Xiao’s heart beat furiously, his breathing quickened.
After saying those words, Ning Xi herself felt quite shy, her cheeks burning. She found that whenever she was with Lin Xiao, she would unconsciously become naughty, unable to resist making intimate gestures to close the distance between them.
“How about it?”
Biting her lower lip with her pearly white teeth, Ning Xi slightly tilted her head, giving Lin Xiao a seductive glance.
“Ning Xi, I’ve told you the truth,” Lin Xiao averted his gaze, avoiding eye contact with Ning Xi, fearing he might lose control and act inappropriately in the next moment.
“Hmph, Miss was distracted all day yesterday, which has never happened before. It must be related to you,” Ning Xi wasn’t ready to let Lin Xiao off the hook so easily. “It’s okay if you don’t tell me now, I’ll deal with you later.”
After saying this, she still had one arm around Lin Xiao’s arm and took out her phone with the other hand to snap a photo of their intimate pose with a click.
She waved the phone in front of Lin Xiao and teasingly said, “I’ll let you off this time, but don’t forget I have something on you.”
What kind of leverage is this? Even if it were leverage, wouldn’t it be against you?
Lin Xiao suppressed the urge to retort and simply nodded.
What else could he do besides nodding?
Ning Xi released her arms from around Lin Xiao and stepped away, straightening her clothes before taking Lin Xiao’s arm.
“Let’s go, let’s go. I won’t tease you anymore.”
Her cheeks were still flushed, making her look exceptionally radiant and attractive.
Lin Xiao discreetly regulated his breathing, calming the turbulent energy within his body, and returned to calm within a few seconds.
They took the executive elevator together, going straight to Wan Caixuan’s office. Ning Xi didn’t knock; she just pushed open the office door and entered. Lin Xiao followed Ning Xi and saw Wan Caixuan standing by the window.
Wan Caixuan had her arms crossed in front of her, gazing out the window, lost in thought.
Today, she was dressed differently from usual, wearing formal attire just like Lin Xiao.
From behind, her silhouette was both elegant and enchanting.
Her black hair cascaded over her shoulders, her soft waist was slender enough to be encircled with a single hand, and the curve between her waist and hips was smooth and tempting, presenting a perfect shape. Her long, straight legs could fulfill any man’s fantasies.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, Wan Caixuan did not turn around but continued to gaze out the window, lost in thought.
Ning Xi put a finger to her lips and tiptoed toward Wan Caixuan from behind, then gestured for Lin Xiao to follow with a nod of her head.
Lin Xiao stood still, not moving.
“Ning Xi, what are you planning to do?” Wan Caixuan asked without turning around, as if she had eyes in the back of her head, aware of Ning Xi’s every move. Her voice was as cold and pleasant as ever, like pearls dropping onto a jade plate.
Ning Xi straightened up, somewhat sheepishly, “Nothing, just saying hello to you, miss.”
She wanted to startle Wan Caixuan but was detected instead.
“If you have nothing to do, then you should get back to work,” Wan Caixuan said with a slightly unfriendly tone.
“Got it, then I won’t disturb your private conversation with Lin Xiao.” Ning Xi stuck out her tongue at Lin Xiao, making faces. “I’m off to work, you two have a good chat.”
After saying this, Ning Xi turned and left the CEO’s office.
As she passed by Lin Xiao, she suddenly pinched his face with a giggle.
Only after Ning Xi left did Wan Caixuan turn around, her beautiful face covered with a layer of frost, “Lin Xiao, it seems you have forgotten your place.”
“I don’t understand what you mean,” Lin Xiao frowned.
“I approved your leave yesterday, but don’t forget your role,” Wan Caixuan’s gaze swept over the bandaged hand of Lin Xiao. “You are my personal bodyguard. Now that you’re injured, how will you protect me?”
Wan Caixuan’s seemingly indifferent words revealed a faint concern.
Lin Xiao felt a warmth in his heart. He wasn’t a fool and could tell that Wan Caixuan was caring for him.
“I’m sorry, I’ll be more careful next time. This is just a superficial wound.”
“Next time?” Wan Caixuan huffed lightly and walked behind her desk to sit down. “The clothes we bought together the day before yesterday, have you forgotten about them?”
Lin Xiao was startled. If Wan Caixuan hadn’t mentioned it, he really wouldn’t have remembered for a while.
He hadn’t forgotten. The bag containing the clothes had been casually tossed aside during the conflict with Le Fangyun and others. After the conflict ended, he was taken to the police station by Le Fangyun’s accomplices, followed by a series of events, so he never had the chance to take his clothes with him.
Although the clothes were expensive, Lin Xiao didn’t value material things and wouldn’t be upset about losing them.
“I haven’t forgotten, but I lost those clothes,” Lin Xiao spread his hands and shrugged.
“They’re not lost. I brought them back for you.” Wan Caixuan spoke lightly, extending a finger to point toward a corner of the office.
“They’re hanging there. Later, you will wear that suit and accompany me to a banquet.”
Lin Xiao looked in the direction Wan Caixuan pointed and indeed saw the suit they had bought at the mall the day before yesterday, hanging on a coat rack in the corner. The suit was covered with a layer of transparent film, without a single wrinkle or speck of dust on it, evidently well cared for, or it wouldn’t be so clean.
“Don’t misunderstand, I didn’t wash that suit for you.” Wan Caixuan pursed her lips. “If you want to thank someone, thank your ‘sister’ Ning Xi.”
Lin Xiao shifted his gaze from the suit and sat down on the sofa. “What banquet do you want me to accompany you to?”
“A charity dinner.” Wan Caixuan picked up a document from her desk and flipped through it casually. “It’s a good opportunity to integrate into the upper echelons of Jinghai City society. As the CEO of Brilliant Aya, I can’t miss this banquet.”
“I thought you weren’t interested in such things.”
“I’m indeed not interested, but for me, it’s not about personal preference, it’s just work.”
Wan Caixuan looked up at Lin Xiao, a smirk on her lips, “Just like you, I don’t believe you enjoy being a bodyguard, yet you took on this job, didn’t you?”
Lin Xiao had to admit that Wan Caixuan made a good point. “You’re right, work is unrelated to preference, and people inevitably have to do things they’re reluctant to do.”
“From the sound of it, you seem to have quite the insight.”
Wan Caixuan picked up a pen and signed her name on a document, speaking indifferently, “You haven’t answered my question about what you did yesterday.”
