Chapter 228: Teaching

Lin Xiao shot a glance at Huang Caixing, who immediately covered her mouth but couldn’t hide her smile.

Yuan Yu’s face turned a bit red, looking at Lin Xiao with hopeful eyes.

“Your strength is too weak. It doesn’t have any impact. Even if someone just stood there and let you hit them, you wouldn’t hurt them,” Lin Xiao said calmly, seemingly unaware of Yuan Yu’s disappointed expression. “Stand still. I need to check your bone structure.”

Yuan Yu stood straight with her arms at her sides. She felt a bit nervous.

Lin Xiao stepped closer and started examining Yuan Yu’s body. He checked her from head to toe.

Although Lin Xiao was very focused and had no improper thoughts, Yuan Yu certainly didn’t see it that way. A girl’s body was already very sensitive, let alone being examined all over by a man.

Yuan Yu’s body trembled slightly, struggling to stay steady, and she had to grit her teeth to hold on. Her fair face turned increasingly red, and by the time Lin Xiao finished, even her ears were bright red, and her eyes were watery.

Standing nearby, Huang Caixing seemed to feel the heat too. She covered her face, her eyes glued to the scene.

“Little Yu, you need to eat more meat and supplement with calcium to strengthen your bones and muscles.” Lin Xiao sighed with some regret. “You can’t practice my self-defense techniques yet because your body is too weak and lacks strength. Forcing it could harm you.”

Yuan Yu nodded, her eyes still somewhat dazed. It was unclear if she even heard Lin Xiao’s advice.

“Big Brother Lin, it’s my turn now. Test me,” Huang Caixing said excitedly, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

“Alright, come on,” Lin Xiao said, raising his hand.

Unlike Yuan Yu, Huang Caixing didn’t take a deep breath but adjusted her breathing to stay calm. She stepped forward, positioning her feet one in front of the other. She aimed her right fist at Lin Xiao’s palm and struck with all her might.

Just from her stance, Huang Caixing was leagues ahead of Yuan Yu.

When Yuan Yu hit Lin Xiao’s hand, the sound was barely audible. But when Huang Caixing hit, there was a clear, solid sound.

“Not bad. Your strength is adequate, and your form is correct,” Lin Xiao said, his expression remaining calm. “Now, I need to check your body.”

‘Finally, it’s happening!’

Huang Caixing felt both excited and nervous, standing as stiff as a board. But as soon as Lin Xiao’s large hand touched her body, she instantly softened.

When Lin Xiao finished his examination, Huang Caixing’s face was as red as Yuan Yu’s, and she felt like she might melt into a puddle.

Lin Xiao didn’t have any ulterior motives. In fact, he was so focused on sensing her bones that he didn’t notice anything else.

“Now, let’s start training.”

Ignoring the girls’ flushed faces, Lin Xiao began with determination. He took martial arts seriously, which was the source of his progress and dedication.

“Caixing, you can start learning the basic stances of self-defense from me. Yuan Yu, you might not be able to learn my self-defense techniques yet, but I can teach you some Dao Yin exercises. Practicing these regularly will strengthen your body.”

“Big Brother Lin, how do you know so much? You not only know martial arts but also self-defense and Dao Yin techniques,” Huang Caixing exclaimed in amazement.

“Once you master one method, you can understand many others. At their core, martial arts, self-defense, and Dao Yin are all about strengthening oneself,” Lin Xiao said with a deep look in his eyes.

Although he was lacking in techniques compared to others of his level, these basic moves, focused on health and strength, were simple for a master like him.

The self-defense techniques he planned to teach the girls were distilled from his combat experience. To make them easier to learn, he simplified them. But even the best techniques require strength to be effective. The same knife in the hands of a baby and a warrior yields very different results.

So, Lin Xiao decided to build a strong foundation for them before moving on to combat skills.

“I’ll demonstrate once. Pay close attention.”

For the next hour or so, Lin Xiao taught Yuan Yu and Huang Caixing. Even though the training was tedious, both girls took it very seriously.

When practice was over, they were so exhausted they couldn’t even lift a finger. Lin Xiao had to carry one on his back and the other in his arms all the way home, attracting plenty of envious and jealous looks along the way.

Too tired to cause any mischief, Huang Caixing crashed on the bed with Yuan Yu as soon as they got back to Yuan Yu’s place.

When Lin Xiao returned to his room after a shower, the two girls next door were already fast asleep.

Listening to their steady breathing, Lin Xiao felt a sense of peace wash over him. He returned to his own bedroom, lay down, and quickly fell asleep.

The next morning, after Yuan Yu and Huang Caixing went off to school, Lin Xiao headed to the Brilliant Tower.

“Morning, Big Brother Lin.”

“Morning, Big Brother Lin.”

With respectful and admiring greetings, Lin Xiao walked into the building.

Along the way, he ran into Secretary Wang, the guy with the gold-rimmed glasses who worked for Lu Pengbo. Secretary Wang’s face paled, and he quickly ducked away as soon as he saw Lin Xiao.

Ever since the last time he schemed to have Yang Tao cause trouble, bringing in the fire department to hassle Lin Xiao, only for the plan to backfire and pit him against Yang Tao, his reputation in the company had plummeted.

Although Yang Tao was eventually kicked out of the company, nobody took Secretary Wang seriously anymore. Out of respect for his position, no one mocked him to his face, but he knew that behind his back, nobody held him in any regard.

After that fiasco, even an idiot like him knew that Lin Xiao wasn’t someone to be trifled with.

He still couldn’t figure out why a mere bodyguard would make the fire department captain so wary. Even Secretary Wang, who had connections with the fire department captain, had to show respect since the captain was a government official.

“Enjoy it while it lasts. You won’t be flaunting your power for much longer.”

In the corner, Secretary Wang watched Lin Xiao’s figure with a venomous expression.
