Chapter 240: Poor Loser?
by tinytreeLin Xiao wandered leisurely around the showroom with the two girls. They walked hand in hand beside Lin Xiao, chatting happily. Their sweet, clear voices attracted frequent glances from other shoppers in the store.
“Big Brother Lin, those three guys are still following us,” Yuan Yu whispered, tugging on Lin Xiao’s sleeve.
“Yeah, I saw them.”
Huang Caixing rolled up her sleeves, looking eager to act. “Should I go over and chase them away?”
“Forget it, just ignore them.”
Lin Xiao understood why those rich kids were trailing them. They probably felt humiliated and wanted to save face. Although their presence was somewhat annoying, they hadn’t done anything overtly wrong. Lin Xiao couldn’t just go over and kick them out for no reason.
Of course, if they decided to cause trouble, he wouldn’t hesitate to make them regret it.
Lin Xiao smiled at Huang Caixing. “If they try anything funny, I’ll make sure they regret it.”
“Alright,” Huang Caixing nodded.
Just then, the middle-aged man who had spoken with Lin Xiao earlier appeared again, walking quickly toward them. During their previous conversation, Lin Xiao had learned that his surname was Cheng, and he was the sales manager at this 4S dealership.
“Mr. Lin, the car you wanted has been brought out from the garage,” Manager Cheng said, wiping sweat from his forehead. “Please follow me.”
“Alright.”
Lin Xiao, along with Yuan Yu and Huang Caixing, followed Manager Cheng to a corner of the showroom. The three rich kids exchanged glances and trailed after them.
In the corner, a black Porsche Cayenne was parked quietly.
This Cayenne had a sleek, high-end design, with smooth body lines, thick tires, and a perfectly balanced chassis. It looked like a beast lurking in the darkness, exuding an incredibly cool vibe. Compared to ordinary SUVs, this Cayenne has a slightly lower chassis and wider tires. The details reveal its clear sports car characteristics, making it more imposing than a typical SUV.
In summary, this limited edition Cayenne combined the agility and powerful performance of a sports car with the all-terrain adaptability of an off-road vehicle, standing out distinctively among regular SUVs.
Lin Xiao ran his hand over the cold surface of the Cayenne, feeling a complex mix of emotions. Memories surged through his mind. He chose this car not because of its flashy design or superior performance, but because it was Yuan Yong’s dream car.
Back in the military, Yuan Yong often talked about how he would buy a Cayenne if he ever had the money. Lin Xiao knew he carried two lives, one his own and the other belonging to Yuan Yong. Therefore, Yuan Yong’s dreams were now his to fulfill.
Finally, Lin Xiao had achieved what Yuan Yong had always dreamed of, but Yuan Yong was no longer here to see it.
Yuan Yu, perceptive as ever, noticed something was off with Lin Xiao and gently placed her hand on his.
“What’s wrong, Big Brother Lin?”
“Nothing, just remembering some old times,” Lin Xiao replied, snapping out of his thoughts at the sound of Yuan Yu’s sweet, soft voice. “So, do you like it?”
“I like it. It suits you perfectly, Big Brother Lin,” Huang Caixing said, circling the Cayenne and nodding thoughtfully, pretending to be a grown-up.
Yuan Yu, who didn’t know much about the Porsche Cayenne, smiled and said softly, “If you like it, then I like it too.”
“Alright then, I’ll just–” Lin Xiao began, but was abruptly interrupted by another voice.
“Hey, Manager Cheng, we want this car. Name your price!”
At some point, the three rich kids, who had been following from a distance, approached the Cayenne. The one speaking was among them. With a smirk on his face, arms crossed, he stood shoulder to shoulder with his friends, not even glancing at Lin Xiao.
Their intention to provoke Lin Xiao was blatant and deliberate. Anyone could see they were picking a fight with him. They wouldn’t have interrupted his conversation so rudely otherwise.
A cold light flickered in Lin Xiao’s eyes. His words were cut off, and even with his calm and steady demeanor, a surge of anger rose within him. He had already decided to let things go and give them a pass, but they just wouldn’t take the hint. Instead, they followed him here and were now clearly trying to cause trouble.
These guys were incredibly foolish. Lin Xiao mentally labeled them as “idiots,” but he didn’t react immediately, curious to see what they were planning.
Manager Cheng seemed quite familiar with these three and looked troubled.
“Mr. Wang, Mr. Li, Mr. Fan, this car has already been reserved by this gentleman. Perhaps you could look at other models?”
The rich kid with the gold chain, whom Manager Cheng referred to as Mr. Wang, arrogantly replied, “No need to look at other cars. We like this one. Unlike some broke guys, we can afford it. Just name your price.”
Huang Caixing, standing next to Lin Xiao, couldn’t hold back any longer. She raised her eyebrows and angrily said, “Hey, what do you mean by that?”
The other rich kid, Mr. Li, replied in a mocking tone, “Oh, are you talking to us, little girl? Weren’t you ignoring us earlier? Now you want to chat?”
“We clearly reserved this car. You’re doing this on purpose to mess with us, aren’t you?” Huang Caixing’s chest heaved with anger, her frustration palpable.
“You’ve got it wrong, pretty lady. You might have your eye on this car, but so do we. Since you haven’t signed any contract, this car isn’t officially yours, right?” The horse-faced young master Fan sneered, his eyes leering at Huang Caixing in a sleazy manner. “If we both want it, the car should go to the highest bidder. Isn’t that right, Manager Cheng?”
Manager Cheng looked between Huang Caixing and young master Fan, feeling caught in the middle. From his perspective, having multiple buyers was great, but he couldn’t appear too eager.
“Well, you have a point. Perhaps you can discuss and decide what to do…”
“No need to discuss. We’re taking this car!” young master Wang raised one finger. “Whatever the price is, we’ll pay double.”
Hearing this offer, Manager Cheng’s interest was piqued. Selling the car to either party was fine, but selling it for double would be a huge win. Still, as a sales manager, he had to maintain some decorum. He turned to Lin Xiao and asked, “Mr. Lin, what do you think?”
Lin Xiao glanced at the three rich kids and said calmly, “If they’re willing to pay double the price, I’ll give up the car.”
“Hahahaha… Poor guy!”
The three rich kids burst into laughter, mocking Lin Xiao. They thought he was backing down and felt immensely satisfied, losing any lingering apprehension. Their arrogance surged once again.
Their loud laughter drew the attention of others in the store, who turned to see what was happening. Noticing this, the three rich kids only laughed louder, wanting everyone to know about their triumph. To them, the more people who knew, the more embarrassed Lin Xiao would be.
