Chapter 244: Nicknames
by tinytreeAs the three rich boys were filled with panic, Lin Xiao was driving the brand-new Cayenne on the highway.
Even though it was his first time driving a Cayenne, the basic structure of all cars is similar. Therefore, Lin Xiao didn’t feel unfamiliar and quickly got used to most of the Cayenne’s features.
Yuan Yu was sitting in such an expensive car for the first time, and her curiosity was barely contained. Her bright eyes wandered around, but her sitting posture was exceptionally calm. Her hands were placed neatly on her knees, and her long legs were tightly pressed together, making her look quite restrained.
Sitting next to her, Huang Caixing covered her mouth and laughed a few times, reaching over to pinch Yuan Yu’s soft waist.
“Flat Princess, why are you so nervous? This is Big Brother Lin’s car, and you’ll be sitting in it every day from now on, won’t you?”
“Flat Princess?”
Lin Xiao, sitting in the driver’s seat, was stunned when he heard Huang Caixing’s words. He didn’t expect her to call Yuan Yu that. His eyes subtly glanced at Yuan Yu through the rearview mirror.
‘Hmm, it is quite flat.’
“Big Brother Lin…” Yuan Yu noticed Lin Xiao’s glance and blushed, giving him a playful scold.
Caught red-handed, even Lin Xiao couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed. He quickly withdrew his gaze and focused on driving.
Yuan Yu breathed a sigh of relief, lowered her head to look at her flat chest, then glanced at Huang Caixing’s chest, and muttered under her breath.
“Little Cow!”
“YuYu, what did you say?”
“Ah, nothing… I was just saying I’m not nervous. But this car cost Big Brother Lin so much money. What if it gets dirty?” Yuan Yu pulled Huang Caixing’s little feet down. “Put your feet down and don’t touch everything.”
It turned out that while talking to Yuan Yu, Huang Caixing had already kicked off her shoes. Her two delicate white feet were on the dark gray seat, and she was lying sideways, wiggling her toes.
“Hmph, my feet aren’t dirty at all. Besides, even if it got dirty, Brother Lin wouldn’t blame me.”
Huang Caixing leaned forward and hugged Lin Xiao from behind through the seat, blowing a breath into his ear, and said with a giggle, “Isn’t that right?”
“Yes, you’re right.” Lin Xiao’s mouth curved into a faint smile. “Little Yu, don’t be so tense. It’s just a car.”
Since Lin Xiao had already said so, Yuan Yu shyly smiled and relaxed her body, though she still had a question in her heart.
“Big Brother Lin, where did you get the money to buy the car?”
This was also exactly what Huang Caixing wanted to ask. She tilted her head, looking at Lin Xiao’s profile, her eyes sparkling, waiting with Yuan Yu for Lin Xiao’s answer.
The money Lin Xiao used to buy the car came from the reward given to him by Old Master Chen. The card had sixty million, and now, after spending eight million on the car, there were still fifty-two million left.
Lin Xiao briefly organized his words and then explained how he became the honorary head of Chen’s Martial Arts School and helped solve their troubles.
Of course, to avoid worrying them, he didn’t mention the exact amount left on the card, only saying that there was just enough to buy the car.
After listening to Lin Xiao’s explanation, the two girls finally understood.
Yuan Yu couldn’t help but feel a bit distressed. Not for the money spent but for how hard Lin Xiao worked to earn it.
“Big Brother Lin, this car is a bit too expensive. We could have bought a cheaper one.”
Lin Xiao didn’t know how to respond to Yuan Yu’s words for a moment. He couldn’t just tell her that the reason for buying this car was to honor her brother Yuan Yong’s dream.
Putting on a nonchalant look, Lin Xiao said, “Money is meant to be spent. If you have it, you should do something you like with it, right?”
Before Yuan Yu could respond, Huang Caixing had already interjected, “Big Brother Lin is right. You should do what you enjoy in life. Flat Princess, don’t worry so much. With Brother Lin’s skills, he’ll definitely make more money in the future. Plus, this car is only eight million; it’s not that expensive.”
“Little Cow, you don’t get it. You have no idea how hard Big Brother Lin worked to earn that money.” Yuan Yu pouted her rosy lips, slightly displeased with Huang Caixing’s words. “You think everyone’s family is as rich as yours?”
Little Cow?
Lin Xiao glanced at Huang Caixing without changing his expression.
‘Hmm, quite an apt description.’
Huang Caixing squinted her eyes, letting go of Lin Xiao’s neck and turning to face Yuan Yu.
“I told you not to call me that. And what do you mean by your comment?”
“Well, you can’t call me Flat Princess either,” Yuan Yu retorted, unwilling to back down. “As for what I meant, you can figure it out yourself. I don’t feel like explaining it.”
Seeing the two girls about to start bickering again, Lin Xiao cleared his throat to interrupt them.
“Both of you, calm down. Don’t say another word. We’re going to the hospital to visit Auntie.”
Lin Xiao’s words had the desired effect. Yuan Yu and Huang Caixing exchanged glances. They both huff before turning their heads to look out the window, avoiding each other’s gaze. Though the girls were sulking, Lin Xiao wasn’t worried. Over time, he had grown accustomed to their antics. Despite their current squabble, he knew they would soon make up.
Driving the Cayenne swiftly, Lin Xiao soon arrived at the First People’s Hospital of Jinghai City.
Opening the door to the VIP ward, he saw Yuan Yu’s mother watching TV. Her face lit up with a smile as she saw the three of them enter.
After a period of treatment and care, mother Yuan had recovered significantly. She no longer looked as frail, and there was a healthy glow on her cheeks.
Since Yuan Yu and Lin Xiao were familiar faces, they simply greeted her and walked in, carrying fruit and nutritional supplements.
“Hello, Auntie.” Huang Caixing placed her hands together and greeted her politely, displaying her good upbringing.
“Caixing, you’re here. Come, have a seat,” mother Yuan said warmly, pointing to the sofa by the bedside.
Huang Caixing obediently walked over and sat down with Yuan Yu, chatting with Yuan Yu’s mother, showing no trace of their earlier spat. The three of them stayed until noon, had lunch with Yuan Yu’s mother, and left the hospital around three or four in the afternoon.
As soon as they stepped out of the hospital, Huang Caixing’s phone rang.
“Caixing, where are you now?” It was Huang Xinyu on the other end.
Huang Caixing, hugging Lin Xiao’s arm with one hand, stretched lazily.
“We’re at the hospital, visiting Xiao Yu’s mother. We’ve just come out. Are you off work?”
“Yeah,” Huang Xinyu replied, the sound of her car driving audible in the background. “I got off two hours early today. You guys can head straight home. I’ll be there soon.”
“Got it.” Huang Caixing hung up the phone and turned to Lin Xiao and Yuan Yu. “Big Brother Lin, Xiao Yu, Mom said to go straight home.”
